hey kinda on the subject, i was watching SPEED channel the other day and they dynoed a corrola with the 4agze with a pulley upgrade to 12 psi, exhaust, and intake and the guy expected his car to put down at least 200 to the wheels and it only hit 140. HOWEVER i have read articles on dynos and this one magazine tested a 350z at like 7 dynos on one day and they got different numbers from every place. so i think the dyno under rated his car by at least 15 hp. dont know if any of you guys saw that ...

yea i think i read somewhere that the 7th gen motors compression ratio is some thing like 10.5:1 in the 1zz(GT) and like 11:1 in the 2zz(GT-S). dont quote me on the numbers but i remember thinking it would be stupid to boost a 7th gen without internal changes. besides it would be kinda pointless to go through the trouble of changing internals and turboing because it would be more money than it is worth. but N2O is always a possiblity(which can become expensive with refills). and besides you have a GT so you have about as much hp as a 7th gen GT. with the money it would take to do that swap you could change internals in your car turbo and nitrous it.

yea i have 5-10% and i have been pulled over twice for different tickets and cops didnt say a thing about my tint(and it is VERY dark). as far as visibility it isnt bad, i mean it's difficult to see at night on an unlit road with no cars around but you can still see the road. the only trouble is seeing curbs on unlit streets. go as dark as you can. i'm actually thinking about tinting my front windshield like 35% when i get a little extra cash(desert sun sucks).

DONT BE CHEAP!!! thats what i did and now i have the bounciest ride in the world. plus it is cheaper to buy everything at once and have it installed together instead of separate times because labor will be the same(somewhere around 180$)

QUOTE
They are nice tires i have to say but not any better than the cheap kuhmo's i like

kumhos are great tires my friend autocrosses them on his cooper S and they do take a beating
QUOTE
Anyways, its not a wet traction issue with the tires...the car has excellent traction but once you turn the wheel just alittle more...to the side it likes to go.
you kinda contradicted yourself there didnt you? unless you meant something else

know your cars limits, i know all 4 tires can slide out from under me on smooth DRY concrete if i take a corner too fast/tight and i have my car dropped 2.5 inches(granted my tires suck). i know my car understeers if i get on the gas too early when turning. btw... what gave you the idea that low-pros have good traction in the rain? my suggestion for everybody is to take up autocrossing. thats the best way to learn your car.

I'm considering a swap in another year and a half or so and i would really like to have the BEAMS engine but it sounds like there isnt enough info on the swap so i got to thinking about swapping for a 4a-ge blacktop and turboing it(not sure if anyone has done that or if it is even advisable). it would be cool to have a 6 spd and rev a lil higher and you throw a turbo in the mix! *WOW* i think it would be quick but i have no info... lol my post was basically pointless

you guys, i hate to be pessamistic but i dont think there is enough support to have a 6gc club. i mean it sounds like there is enthusiasum(sp) but we are too spread out to make it worthwhile.i'm only saying this because the supra show is here in vegas anually and supras have lots of support and are a very popular car, BUT, there were less than 100 cars total which came from all over and were from all 4 generations. keep in mind that it is a full on 4 day deal with a drag day, open track day, show day, and dyno day. well i will finish post later im about to fall a sl.......

Im down, how bout a Las Vegas meet. i will be meeting with LatinKraze this weekend and LBCguy. I think vegas is a good meeting area for LA and other large surrounding cities. I would also suggest broadening the club like to maybe all 90's toyotas or only celicas(of all years) or something of the like because i honestly( i hate to say it) but first off there is not enough 6gc's to make it interesting if we put on a show or meet or whatever, second off people would get board really fast, i went to the supra show here and i am a diehard lover but it got old after like 2 hours... ANYWAY... just marinate on what i said and post back

i wouldnt go with the 3sgte swap because there are always suprizes that wind up costing more plus less parts nedded to make it run very effectively(IS turbo timer, BOV, intercooler, etc.). BTW i think it is a rare site that you would get a 3sgte with 250+ hp... more like 220.

since the altezza was rwd couldnt you just get different motor mounts( i know they can be a lil pricey) axles and other parts you would need for any other high hp swap? personally i think that 6gc's should have been rwd, because we all know that REAL sports cars are rwd. anyway i dont get how the beams motor would be any harder to install than a 3s-gTe, i mean you are dealing with taking a NA car and keeping it NA, no turbo confusion and less parts to buy, plus they are the same code minus a t so its not like the engine could be really that much different in size or position, if anything the non turbo would have less on it(no intercooler, turbo or piping for those). I am seriously considering this swap in the next 2 years (when i move out and go to college away from the parental units) so if i am wrong on something someone please correct me and give me lots of information. oh yea and back to the original post... i would guess that the 0-60 would be somewhere around 6.2 dont ask me why thats just what i think lol

OMG you have a budget of 4k and are looking to boost a 7afe..... let me think a second.... STUPID!!!!! why not swap in a bigger engine? it just doesnt make sense to me to want to have an expensive turbo set up on your 7afe... with 4k couldnt you swap in a 2.0 beams motor and be pushing 200hp and still be NA and you could run spray on that if you wanted... thats what i would do. sorry if i sound heated, but i am... i guess jealousy... anyway good luck with whatever you decide to do.

The mechanic raped me(technically my dad and mom) for 3000$, 950 for motor, 1k for install and new axles and other random stuff that werent really broken needed to be replaced mad.gif any way dont get me started....

hey guys, just wanted to tell you guys that the toms coilovers are not bad for those of you skeptics out there. I just got them put on the other night and they have been working fine, I have my celi lowered 2.5 inches and it corners EXTREMELY well. My only suggestion is that you get struts/shocks or whatever when you get coils because i am running on stock struts/shocks and the ride is very bouncy!
