Awww yes I remember who you are.....We were just talking about how you should of won, with all the mods youve done, the judges must of been blind and are newbies! I hear that you must have at least 8 cars of the same gen to be in its own class, thats why were all thrown together.
Thanks for the props, but you have a great looking car yourself. Well, if we need 8 or more in a class to be in our own group, then next year we need to get more people from 6GC.net to go down there with us! I would definitely go again. I was glad to see the genuinely interested people that wanted to know about or just appreciate our cars. I enjoyed meeting you guys. I am in to do it again next year - you coming back down? |

Ill be there for the first time!!!!! Great first visit! Great job taking first place and representing the "New School" Celicas - the GT4 looked great! Having some of our all-trac brethren (and sisters) from other generations was a beautiful sight. I think more of them should have taken the other positions than the 7th gens. But then again I am not one of the judges. It was nice to see those that did participate in the show and the enthusiasts that enjoyed seeing those cars on display! hey, im the asian dude who chatted up with you about your conversion!!! boy i gotta say man, awesome work!!! possibly, do you have a project thread i can follow as i wanted to do the same conversion for the rear to setup for rwd!! or maybe we can even meet up to check it out in more in depth view of your work. im located in riverside, ca btw.... Yeah brother I would be glad to help with any questions on the rear conversion. DST94 is also looking at doing a conversion - his is AWD. We are down in Oceanside. He is on here more than I am, so I would suggest hiting him with an IM. |

Thanks.. I was very disappointed that we were thrown in with the 7th gens...The 7th gen celicas should of been placed in its own category. I dont know how they judged but whats done is done. Sorry didnt get to chat with you as much as I dont even recall meeting you, there were crap loads of people. Anyhow till next year...... 1st Place Medal I was the green AWD conversion showing across from you. |

Im going to compare my st204 (GT) to the st205 (GT4) tomorrow... Id like to see the AT200 (ST) in comparison as well. Thanks, Brian I did it on my ST. Everyone has given you the ansers...use your LHD Rack and replace everything else from the Clip. Did yours also include the Sway Bar? THat was a pain for me to source with the correct links. THe rear pieces to complete the conversion to AWD are much more of a PITA to get in. |

I guess this is a warning to all of the US based Celica Owners and even those in the UK. I recently reached out to CRNPerformance (they are on Ebay and Online) and got ripped off on the purchase of new ST205 Rotors. Long story short, I got the shipment after a small delay, it only had two rotors, I sent pictures, Olly said he would send the rest. Long delay no shipment, and I sent more pictures because it was one front rotor and one rear rotor. He said he would fix. THis has been going back and forth for 2 months now. Filed all the appropriate complaints etc. I wanted to reach out to my Celica Brothers and Sisters and let you know. Do not do business with this place. Olly and the rest of CRN Performance (also goes by CRNproducts) are a bunch of crooks! |

Well it appears I will not be able to attend ToyotaFest tomorrow with the car. Spent most of this evening trying to get the tune down to be able to drive to Toyota Fest. It was running and driving fine up until this evening. It appears that I broke three bolts off the drive shaft into the rear diff. This in turn caused several problems. It looks as though the rear drive shaft hung on with one bolt and lodged betweet the diff and the support locking up the rear. It caused me to skid to a hault. I couldn't get it removed and had to remove sections of the drive shaft to get it back home. I do not know how much more damage occurred, and will look further into it tomorrow. I was leaking tranny fluid from the transfer case, but am not sure of the reason or if the transfer case or tranny are damaged. I will keep everyone posted. |

I think he was able to get everything welded in less than a few weeks. We did much more than that. That's why it took me so long. QUOTE(Havok1997GT @ May 1, 2008 - 4:26 AM) sorry i must have missed it, thats a lot lower then i thought it would be. |

QUOTE(Havok1997GT @ May 1, 2008 - 4:21 AM) QUOTE(Green_MachToy @ Apr 30, 2008 - 11:19 PM) the tuning or the AWD conversion or what I put into the whole car in total? QUOTE(Havok1997GT @ May 1, 2008 - 4:17 AM) just because i want to know, How much is all this going to cost you? the Whole AWD conversion I got the parts for about $2k the rest was time and labor. I think we went through this earlier in this thread. My buddy will still do this for people on here...I will look back at his price... Here is the old infomration but is still right. If anyone is interested I will hit him up to see if the price is the same.... The parts cost me approx 2k (excluding the tranny, driveshaft, rear diff - I got those with my clip). The hardest part about that was finding a place that would part out a car ship them out to me. I got them from a guy in Europe. It is a junk yard. I would suggest we go through someone on here rather than taking a chance like I did through e-bay. But I got the parts and that price included shipping. Since it was me and a friend of mine doing the work the price on labor is a rough guess. Looking at what we did and the time it took us, I would say that would have probably been about 5k (a lot of time spent figuring it out as we went) if it was done at a shop. I talked to my friend and he said he would probably do the work for anyone on here for around 3-4k. Now some of the parts can be gotten cheaper as a couple people have pointed out on here that the rear is the same on a ST165 and ST185. The arms and hubs also appear to be the same. The difference is those monster calipers and discs. Not to mention the sway bars....I should have gotten them from the guy at the Junk yard as well. By going fuel cell instead of the tank like I did, would probably save a lot of time and money or be a wash between the cost of the cell and fabrication. My guess at this point would be it can all be done if paying someone else for everything for around 5+k. QUOTE(6strngs @ Feb 22, 2007 - 3:55 AM) QUOTE(Green_MachToy @ Feb 21, 2007 - 6:20 PM) Which parts? The whole project or just the rear? QUOTE(6strngs @ Feb 21, 2007 - 7:04 AM) I want!!! so how much has this cost you start to finish, if you don't mind me asking. everything, the whole AWD conversion (not including 3sgte engine). Cost of parts, labor, specialty tools, custom fabrication, etc. everything needed to go from FWD to AWD. |

When I said tuning...I was looking for a map for the power FC to get me close. I have figured it out a little and it at least runs and I have driven it down the street without fear of blowing it up. I have a base map in the power fc and the 680 injectors in. I have a a guy that is supposed to tune (using wideband as everyone stated) because I can't get it to rev past 4.5k rpm. I think the top end of my map is off, but will have to wait for him to help. Anybody on here know how to tune a Power FC and is located near Oceanside, CA? QUOTE(pitcelica @ Apr 27, 2008 - 8:36 PM) Man buy a wideband, the wideband is your best friend when you are tuning on fuel and changing injectors. |

Sitting on the ground running, but not tuned. I have the Power Fc and am trying to have a friend help with the setup. I am trying to get help programming the advanced mapping for the t3/t4, the 680 injectors and the FMIC. Hopefully I can figure it out and get it running right. My plan is to show it up in Long Beach at ToyotaFest. Drivetrain seems to be a success, but I haven't been able to run the car on it as it runs way rich and won't stay running at idle. QUOTE(Green_MachToy) It runs badly because I also upgraded the injectors and am upgrading the turbo at the same time. My plan was to go with a Garrett t3/t4, the larger injectors, upgraded regulator, external wastegate (I have a 44mm), and the F-Con (like this http://cgi.ebay.com/JDM-HKS-F-CON-V-FCON-M...7QQcmdZViewItem ) My Goal was around 375 hp to the ground. |

I believe you could say I did something very similar to that and it now runs so rich it will barely run. Important thing to keep in mind - I upgrade the injectors to 680's....seems like way too much fuel. I took the stock wiring and connected all blues and all grounds to stock wiring. I will try and get a pic of it and post it up to show you. QUOTE(lagos @ Feb 17, 2008 - 6:56 PM) Remove the fuel pump relay all together and let the fuel pump run 100% from the COR. I think the other guy with the AWD ST (BltnotBgt) has a better setup for making a kit. It almost looks as though you could probably make the circular piece in the rear wider and use some u-bolts for those that don't want or can't weld. I am not sure if that would be strong enough but, I am sure there are plenty of guys on here that could make the suggestions to get a kit out of his setup. Plus his is a lot cleaner! Hopefully someone on here can come up with something. QUOTE(Punch @ Feb 11, 2008 - 8:22 PM) now you should make kits for the rest of us so we can go awd! sell the kit to has sport or TRD and get rich $$$ Keep up the good work... I will give that a shot....thanks! QUOTE(GriffGirl @ Feb 11, 2008 - 9:14 PM) QUOTE(Green_MachToy @ Feb 10, 2008 - 8:49 AM) I got all the parts for just under $2k....that was everything from the tank to calipers. Only things I didn't get was the sway bars(in Europe I believe the call them Anti-roll bars). I cut a re-welded mine to fit the use for now. THis is an item I must replace before I do any real hard driving. The reason I made a point to mention the difference in the name is because I have had better luck getting used parts from over there than I have in Japan. In Europe, they seem to be parting (breaking) them, one every week. The $2k was including shipping. I would suggest you pay the extra for a fuel cell rather than go with a stock tank. It will save you the cutting of the trunk, major welding, re-build, adjusting the fill neck....etc. I am still working on trying to figure out the wiring through the Fuel relay to have the high speed in the stock pump kick in under boost. I should have addressed this during the initial engine swap but didn't realize the second stage was not wired up correctly. I have basically all the power requirements to the relay, but none of the inputs from the ECU and nothing back to the pump itself (other than the stock ST wiring being used as low speed). Can anyone assist with this? You should PM Dr. Tweak about this, I bet he can help. Wiring is one of his specialties. |

I have probably spent around that on all the work I have done to the car so far. Your question was the AWD portion. Because I have done it in stages and am doing it myself, there are pluses and minus to it. Plus - I saved money on labor. Minus - I am re-doing things I had done before....struts being one. I have made mistakes and had to re-do things. THe list goes on. The $5+k was a friend of mine giving me a price to do things out of his garage. I am sure if you go somewhere else, it would run you more. QUOTE(6strngs @ Feb 22, 2007 - 6:26 AM) 5K? wow! a lot less than I expected! I always assumed that a full AWD conversion would cost like 20K+ |
