I picked up a black and tan 2001 Solara SLE V6 Convertible tonight for $2700. Some big interior cosmetic issues but drive train is fine. So, sorry ya'll, I am no longer in the market. Thanks for the help. I'll be selling off my spare 6G tiddly bits in the next week or 2. |

Only because I have an offer in the close area ... I want opinions. $3800, 97 GT Convert "LE" Top doesn't open (claim it is motor, also claim it seals), all 4 windows operate well enough NO ABS (that hurts me) Paint has flaws, like minor/scratch/tiny_dents paint/pen marker fill ins into scratches, among 1/3 of panels Came up and battery was dead, all 4 brake routers rusted over, guy opening the car didn't even know to turn the key "away from front and wait a sec" Some car group bought it at auction Car has been on CraigsList 2+ months (most with bad phone number) new phone number listed on jan 2nd Serp belt torn and flapping Driver seat "left chest" tan leather bucket flap not just torn, but missing foam. Upgraded head unit missing faceplate I havn't taken it for a drive as I can't do the "manual up a hill at a stop sign" driving thing (grew up Auto but I can manual it enough, for now) What I am asking is ... ya'll barely know me, but I have been in a 95 GT Hatchback for a while though I have to give it up (now). Tell me this car/offer is a waste of time or it is a steal? About me, I can give some time to things that take "8ish hours", but I do not have the time to do the deep down (multi day) major things anymore. We get old, we get jobs, we spend more free time in other cities than home. |

Personally, I am also a bit split between an early 2000's Miata and the 6th Gen Celica (post 96) and an early 2000's Solara. But I have been driving a friend's 95 ST Hatchback for years and I know my way around the car so well (thanks to this place mostly), I am really thinking I am going with the Celica. |

Too bad you're not closer to me: http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/3483385990.html I might cry now. I'll be in Northern Maryland late Jan. I can circle back with you then to see if I have time for the ~2 hour drive to take a look then. Though good luck selling this (or keeping it!) |

Looking for an OBD2 compatible convertible, preferably with power windows and ABS. Needs to be within 200 miles of Atlanta though (unless real cheap and worth the shipping cost, which is doubtful) |

my question is who has HID 3K fog lights?? I am in the process of installing HID 3000K bulbs with clear lenses, but I am delayed for when I can pull the bumper off and get the electrical done (I have a 95 with no pre existing wires). I made a custom metal cap to cover the tip of the longer Xenon bulb to cut down the glare. I was going to post a how-to about it some day. The color is just like Blood Money's pic. |

Yea, I got my prices from THmotorsports.com they seem to have pretty competitive rates. Im voting for the Ksport I would recommend adding the option "either" as some people might want the coilovers, but are indifferent to which, and thus having to choose one or the other might skew the true results. |

New thermostat and the problem is still here wow. It actually got a little worse since it tries to stall even in warmer temperature now (just not as bad as in cold temperature). My next move, test and/or replace Oxygen sensor ECM Intake air temp sensor If none of those things work, I just might pull this engine out and go office space on its @$$ -Dave I second the O2 sensor. I had similar issues on a different car, though more of the jerking and odd idling at a red light (no knocking). Replaced thermostat, flushed out the water, and checked EGR along with vacuum tubes , same issue, but once I replaced the O2 sensor it resolved it. The sensor was caked over with nastiness, barely could get the sensor out. |

A mini meet would still be cool I travel through DFW and Arlington every few months. Though I'd be in a rental or parent's Avalon (the Celica lives in Atlanta), I'd still like to see what some other people are doing with their beauties when I am in town. Keep us informed when this happens, eh? |

Also, I hate to talk bad about other member especially someone who i guess pioneered the AWD swap, but after doing it and seeing his build it's not done correctly. I would not recommend buying pipes car. The driveline angles are all incorrect, welds are more than questionable. It's one thing for him it's his car knows the ins and outs of it. Something breaks he can fix it. It's another to inherit the car. Like I said I really don't want to put down anyones work, he put a ton of work into the car, but I also don't want someone to buy something and not know what they're getting. Did you take pics? You could always write a second how-to, give your experiences, and let those willing folks know both. (or any help?) Eh, back to the point, it is cheaper to buy someone else's unless you are a god in the car shop, you have access to a car shop, and you have decent free time (no kids, no second job, no weekend jail). More celica's are listed elsewhere than here, take a look. |

Sent an email too. I too would like a coilover upgrade for a 150K+ daily driver that I wish was a toy. Got a reply ... Thank you for your e-mail. At the current time we do not have plans for the Celica but I will definitely pass on your request to our development team. If you should have any further questions, please let me know. Regards, |

got a pic ?? Here they are. I had to drill the screw out the back to get them off the mount/bracket, so you'll have to glue them on a mount. As everyone is saying, you are better off getting new ones and glue them to the mount/bracket. I was able to get a 1 inch tweeter to fit between the mirror covers and bracket. I'll give these to you for the cost of shipping rounded up, i bought them used from someone here, I have no idea if they work as I have never cared. I also have one extra mirror cover with the tweeter hole thing, but it is missing the nipple/plug thing so it also needs to get glued in place. If you want that also, PM me. I too spent a while looking for these in junkyards before I bought them here, out of over 30 gen 6s, I have never seen these remaining in a car. |

Im searching for the OEM tweeters, does anyone got them....or know where i can get them...? with the speakers in it offcourse.. thanks! I have two tweeters and wires I bought used. Bought mainly to get the bracket, and I put new tweeters on them. If you want just the tweeters, I am glad to get rid of them. |

Yes but if your car came from the factory with the 15's, you probably have a GT which already has the rear brakes that he is selling. If you've put GT rims on your ST, I've heard that the GT rear discs are a great upgrade. Yip, the ST drums are ugly. It is an upgrade I want to do, but I think someone will have beat me to it. |
