if you can afford it there is a funnel out there that acts like a radiator cap in the sense you can tighten it on and fill it, leave some extra coolant in the funnel and run it with the heater on.

Are you sure there is air in the system?

I have herd of them. But Im hoping to take the car with me on holidays very soon and i doubt i will get one in time. The funnel i use is well sealed in when i put it in the radiator, it doesn't leak. I fill it half way up the funnel and once the car heats up, the coolant with rise to the top of the funnel and even spill a bit. Forgot to mention the car was pressure tested. No leaks after the new rad was put in.

I recently had my Celica with a 5sfe taken in to get a new radiator. problem being now is i think there is air traped inside. Tried Numerous times to bleed it.. what happens is when i take the car for a long drive and shut it down it dumps about a litter of coolant out the expansion tank and it also dose sometimes when the car is running.. Temp is normal according to the gauge and the car runs fine otherwise. I've taken it back to the mechanics and they failed to fix the problem. What's worse is i had plans to go on holidays and drive this car there. witch is less than a week away!

My bleeding procedure is the following so correct me if Im wrong.

Turn the heater to full hot. (fans off). Start the car with the rad cap off. using a small funnel wedged in there i top off the radiator. I then rev the car as it seems to help purge the air out. Wait for the bubbles to stop and shut the car off and refit the rad cap.

please help.

Is your check engine light on?

The check engine light isn't on. How ever i think most the dash lights don't work (since ive had the car) except the indicators and the ones that light up the dials. They Haven't concerned me enough to take the time to fix them lol.

So i own a St204 (ZR) 5sfe Celica that looses some of its power after warming up for about 5-10mins. The thing has a whirling/ whining sound after it warms up also, I was told the timming belt was a little tight and it wasn't really anything to worry about. Did some research and found others that had the same problem. Most considered a O2 sensor to be the cause. But they claimed there's to blow smoke and mine doesn't.

Any help would be most appreciated =)

The thing sounds like it has a supercharger and appears to be less noticeable when the engine is cold?? any ideas?

I swear I saw a celica on here that had a perfectly aligned GT4 style hood with a stock bumper.. Is there an after market one or was it a custom I was seeing..

And also can you get a front grill for a ZR/GT bumper?

Thanks..

P.S I'm in Australia and would rather not import if possible kindasad.gif

Thanks for the info and the welcome to the forums guys smile.gif

czwalga, I'm impressed on the AWD conversion you did to your GT especially for that price. Would imagine it would of took a fair bit of dedication and skill so well done.
Unfortunately I Don't think I would have that good of fabrication skills and like use said, probably beta off buying a GT4 instead.

But like S8S8 said in there, AWD isn't everything, and I'm probably beta off throwing money into the engine, suspension ect in the future as the car is..

Its good to hear some solid information about this though.. Finally tongue.gif

I believe the GT has a beta/different looking wing compared the the ST as well? I have a ZR (an Aussie GT) that has no fog lamps? Were they optional or removed in its life time?

This is just out of curiosity and is thing that has been lingering in the back of my mind for a while. I know its possible but how and what needs to be done?? I've read so many forums on other sites about doing this but they all can't seem to give a down to earth answer on what actually is done to the car. In other words they seem to give completely different explanations or basic instructions from one another. Here in Australia GT4s are on the pricey side and a rare find.. So thought in the coming years a AWD conversion might an cheaper and beta (not necessary Easier) solution.

First Forum post by the way I am new to 6gc =P
