True enough. Just look at every Ricer. It's interesting to examine the motivation behind a lot of car builds. Just ask the question "why"? 90% of the time it's insecurity, delusion or OCD issues and there's been plenty written about it. If people spend more time building than they do driving they have it ass-backwards. LOL, this statement is ass-backwards in my opinion. It's like saying why exercise and improve your health because you're insecure. Cmon, you can do whatever the hell you want to your body, car, mind, soul, or what have you. The choice is yours, but to pass judgement is a sure sign of insecurity and close minded behavior. My .02 the high-horse is yours your perfect personification of humanity, |

I'm also a 90's Toyota Lover! I own a 90 Alltrac and a 94 GT with V6 1MZ-FE swap. I honestly think these cars don't look out of place on the roads with brand new vehicles. Timeless is often overused, but minus the popup headlights on my Alltrac it will still look awesome 20yrs from now: Timeless |

ST185 = US Alltrac & GT-FOUR for the rest of the world. As far as the seats being not as nice as the 6th Gen., I guess it's personal choice. I have both and would say I like the adjustable side bolster of the ST185, so you can adjust to your choice of snugness. The 6th gen not so much: Here are my seats from my ST185. The rears are pretty close to the 6th gen, but are a bit deeper in the seat bottom buckets. |

This is Toyota part#: 9046705103 , it's called a clip but it's more of a stopper/plug. Really cheap at the dealership or you can pop one off at your local junkyard. It pretty much used on all Toyota/Lexus emblems. |

lol guys, its nice to dream. but i doubt its happening. toyota may produce a new car, but a model line will not be revived. for every celica enthusiast, there are hundreds that disliked it. so they would want to start fresh. because they would like to sell more than a couple huundred, Think about what the revival of the Z line did for Nissan, Toyota can do that as well! I know what they want, they want to follow the same line as Nissan and turn the Z into a crossover, the GripZ, and probably compete against it with the new C-HR and call it a legacy name, but I know Toyota wouldn't be so silly as to name a crossover after the revived Celica name *deep gulps* You are an optimist, but Toyota has turned their back on your dream quite a few years ago. If you want Toyota's newest sports offering buy the new Corolla and drive into the sunset or better yet a Prius C. Everything else is a pipedream and should be treated as such. Toyota performance is dead face it or not...... |

Cool. Now what about the bov? Mine didn't coke with i . I want to use the stock tmic. It will heat-soak like crazy, so most guys go front mount. Every gen 3sgte hates hot intake temps, and having a air-to-air top mount without the proper hood vent will basically raise the intake temps way out of optimal performance range. You can always go water-to-air from a ST205 also, but throw that top mount on eBay ASAP. |

Toyota sucks deal with it, Toyota and performance are things of the past. If anything is made in the performance category here in the US it will be badged as a Lexus end of rant...... |

How is he going to hold it when youre going 80 mph LOL. Might be able to pay him to lay on the hatch and hold it The kicker is, that's the stock 3 post spoiler.. just upside down and backwards. Here's one with him edited out It doesn't look bad, the only issue is going to be rearview visibility. Beware of parking lot light polls when reversing, those things don't budge an inch , just noticed the Jersey plates, and growing up in Jersey I can predict some trouble with law enforcement in your future if you decide to go forward with it |

Also it is always a good idea to properly solder & shrink tube all electrical connections. The butt clips will allow moisture to get to the connection and cause oxidation, which will lead to the headlight not functioning properly. These are by far the best upgrade I have done to my car to date and I have done quite a bit of modifying |

I love it!!! I don't know if you have joined, but I would suggest becoming a member over on Alltrac.net this is where all the Alltrac/GT-FOUR enthusiasts are. This forum is more focused on the 6th Gen Celica's. I happen to love both . I hope to see your progress and best of luck rallying your GT-FOUR. |

Hello guys, I know it's been a while since I updated this project thread, but I have been busy with work and everyday life . Since my last update I have replaced the clutch with a Exedy stock replacement with a Toyota throw-out bearing. I have also replaced the transmission oil seals because they started leaking a little, or just marking it's territory . I have been enjoying the extra horse power and toque to no end, and coupled with the LSD transmission it is a real blast to drive. Today I got an alignment which I have needed since putting replacing the clutch and transmission seals. Here is a couple pics from the alignment shop: Future plans are to repair/replace some interior plastics that were damaged during the engine swap. I am also on the fence about replacing the struts or going with coil-overs. I can get replacement struts and mounts for about $450 or get a set of Megan ez-coilovers for $700 or standard Megans or BC coil-overs for $899 - $999. The main issue I'm having is how much adjustability do I really need. Right now I have Tien springs with standard struts and I like the ride, but my front struts need to be replaced. I'm afraid I won't like the ride quality of coil-overs and would have wasted money on something I'm not satisfied with in the end. It is hard to gauge product reviews because they are all over the spectrum from wonderful to awful. I know it comes down comfort for me at the end of they day I don't want my spleen and kidneys aching after a road trip . |

Could also be years of dirt, rust, and grime, a quick shot of WD-40 or another spray lubricant may free it up. |

My concern with the OP question is he would like to know "how much" to do a 7AGE swap. This indicates to me that money is a major issue. If you want to do a swap my personal rule is to come up with a budget, then triple it and you will be in the ballpark of completing the swap. People always want more power, but if you are concerned with cost right away I would say to sell what you have and buy something with more power. Doing an engine swap adds very little to the value of your car, and is always a losing proposition when it comes time to sell it. You can quote me on this, "you will never get the money back that you put into doing an engine swap". If you want something more fun to drive and you have the funds then do it, but if you are concerned with costs stay away because engine swaps are expensive no matter what. |

Hey Box thank you so much for the info. I'd love to go manual and think if I get a transmission for the 5SFE for now, then it'll be ready for a 1MZ and E153. I would love Supercharged and sounds like I would need to play the lottery in order to find one lol You know off hand what the HP at the wheels are with the supercharger? This is why I wanted to gather as much information as possible. I would like to make a list of parts that are needed and make sure that I have everything and the space for it. The 3MZ was seen in a thread because it has the HP but sounds like a lot can be done with the 1MZ and it is a bit easier to put in. I ended up doing the 1MZFE swap with a LSD E153 transmission from a Caldina into my 94 GT because my motor popped. I was thinking the same thing supercharger or future 1MZ/3MZ Hybrid swap similar to Smaay in the future. To be honest I am satisfied with the 1MZ at the moment. It is so much more powerful and torque is great anytime you want it. Don't get me wrong you always can go for more hp, but I think I'm done unless a 3MZ falls into my lap for peanuts |

I'm pretty sure I've seen that one for sale before. Not this one. The owner is Gary who has been a long time member over on Alltrac.net it's sad to see it for sale to be honest. If I had the money I would buy in a heartbeat, but who needs two Alltracs |

Get an Exedy clutch and an OEM throw out bearing and you'll be good for quite some time. |

I would check your engine mounts, that bump or lunge you are describing could be from worn engine mounts. Change the timing belt for sure and get a tune-up new: (spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, air filter, fuel filter). I would also get the oil leaks fixed ASAP. |

I thought all the leaks were gone... Of course I let it get up to temp and looked and and still no leaks, so I start to top it off and get to the proper level. Put it in gear and drive around some with no problems, trans starts slipping again so I turn back around and park it only to look and fluid is gushing from the damn thing. That's ok when I turned it off it dieseled on me, so I guess I can only drive it during the Fall and Winter anyway unless I want to find race fuel from somewhere... Should just silicone the ****ing pan to it, fill it back up and sell the ****er. If I wanted to waste $60 I could think of a lot more fun ways than to take and dump trans fluid onto the ground. The 5SP swap is starting to look better with every horror story post.....just saying |
