AT 15psi the main thing I would be worried about on a stock engine is the head gasket and bolts.

With the FMIC you'll be keeping the charge temps nice and low.

The water sprayer? is that spraying ON to the intercooler? Or is it water injection?

I run both on my car the Water injection is extremely effective at pulling charge temps down, The sprayer just helps things along smile.gif

If you want to be able to run all day every day - I would go for something around 13psi that shouldn't cause you any problems smile.gif

I also am living the 'dream'.

The GT-Four is an excellent machine, although I can't really compare as I have never driven or had a ride in a GT or ST.

Everything I have read suggests that basically they are totally different cars - just with the same shell.

so say you remove it on a GT4 hood. what if it does rain and u get water in your engine / on the IC. What kinda problems is this gonna cause.

The vent is directly over the heatshield, the engine and IC are covered by the hood.

There is nothing really sensitive in the area under the vent from an electrical point of view.

Pretty much every car in the UK GT-Four owners club has the insulation removed - its a regular event at our meets - parking lot removal of insulation smile.gif

You will be amazed at the amount of heat which pours from the bonnet vent its quite incredible. The 3S-GTE is a hot running engine - you really should get rid of all that heat.

I would much rather pay for a paintjob on a hood every few years than have all that heat trapped inside the engine.

Get rid of it. The high temperatures in Cyprus are even more reason to do this smile.gif

I count the cost of everything I put into my car, its a big part of my finances. If I ignore it a lot of my funds would go untracked.

That doesn't affect me thiking the car is great though smile.gif

A company called whiteline also make sway bars - they dont list applications for the ST202 but much of the stuff does fit you might want to investigate that smile.gif

You said your getting the 2 bar sensor from the alltrac, how is this going to interface with your ECU?

Just wondering how you will control the fueling at different boost pressures. smile.gif

I have dealt with Fensport quite a few times probably spent about $2k with them in total.

Always found them to be efficent and quick.

hyperutectic

That was the word I was thinking of smile.gif

No idea how its spelt either, as I understand it its kinda halfway between a cast and a forged piston.

As far as I am aware you are correct it does not come with forged internals - there was an interesting thread on this over at the UK GT-Four owners club - I will try to find it.

180$ per tire for 15in rims is senseless no matter how you look at it. The celica is a 110/135hp car...you dont need transam WS-6 tires on it rolleyes.gif Now maybe if you autocross your car wink.gif

My GT-Four has 306hp - perhaps I will need a better tyre than most biggrin.gif

MY g/f's car have 67k miles on it..its basically brand new and tight as can be. There is no play in the steering, mine has alitle bit of slop but it has 156k miles.

If you pay 180$ for each 15in tire then you make too much money. Ive had 180$ each goodyear RSA's on my 3000GT and they were the worst tire i have ever had. I'll stick with some 100$ Kuhmos.

The GT-Four comes with 16" wheels as standard, its a performance car, which demands a performance tire.

The Eagle F1 is a very good tire, Just because the totally different Goodyear tire you tried on a completely different car wasn't any good it doesn't mean they are all trash.

A tire is your sole contact with the road, not worth being cheap on in my opinion.

67k miles is plenty to have some wear creep in, perhaps you could try changing the belt. Check your running the right pressures in the tires. Check the springs and dampers, there are any number of components that could cause this.

If you can't feel the amount of grip that the wheel has then there is something wrong with the car.

Perhaps there is some excessive play in the steering rack or surrounding bushes.

Whilst my car has a totally different suspension setup to the GT's I find that the car gives excellent feedback. Just out of interest I use Goodyear Eagle F1 tires, at the current exchange rate they work out at about $180 per tyre for me but the grip is excellent in both the wet and the dry.

Sorry Guys - I didn't explain properly.

Lots of American cars have large engines with a relatively low power output, lots of American engines do last for a very high number of miles.

It wasn't a specific comment about that particular car.

I used to drive an old Chevy station wagon when I lived in Massachusetts it had 450k miles on it - was rusty as anything but the engine was great smile.gif

There are three bolts on the chargecooler which need to be undone, you'll also need to undo the hose clips from the turbo and the throttle body.

It would be wise to disconnect the electrical connector for the chargecooler level sensor aswell.

Then the chargecooler can be twisted out of the way - don't pull the whole thing off otherwise you'll have to refill all the coolant.

You can access the plugs without fully removing it smile.gif

Hope this helps

170bhp in a 5litre LMFAO!! thats 34bhp per litre, thats the most inefficient engine ever!a 1960s vw beetle is better than that!
a 5 litre engine should be putting out 350bhp at least, anything less is a disgrace

Its not particually powerful Uz - but when you consider they can easily last for half a million miles or more you see why they do it. The engines just are not worked at all.

I can't see many 3S-GTE's lasting that long!

Difficult choice - depends on many things.

What are your goals in terms of power? The ST205 chargecooler is good for 400 BHP.

But it is fairly complicated with pump and radiator etc.

If you wanted the nice look of a big front mount - I guess you could get a huge radiator for the chargecooler fluid - it would look exactly the same.

A boost controller can not be used to run less boost than your actuator is set to.

You might need different wheels aswell - the 205 calipers are huge - the range of wheels/spoke design that fits over them is fairly limited.

Might want to look into other options - how easy is it to source 205 calipers out there?

The stock 3rd Generation 3S-GTE as fitted to the ST205 produces 255 BHP, but the chargecooler helps with that so would be needed to replicate the figures.

Personally I would go with the 3S-GTE its reliable as standard and there are many many high power units out there.
