Check this out - I found us a nice place to buy good quality clips at super low prices. Thier engine sets are rediculously low too. All I ask is that when you call them and/or buy a clip just tell them Matt sent you. That's very important to me. http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=48094&st=0 |

Oh sorry. Yeah that with either crush bent or preferably mandrel would do you just fine. About 2.5" diameter for GT and IDK for ST [2 - 2 1/4"?]. The general rule of thumb is 1" per liter with N/A DOHC engine so 2" sounds right for ST to me. o0black0o had 2.5" and it sounded really nice. Don't forget to plan ahead to do a magnaflow [or similar] high flow cat and def don't forget the resonator. Mine has no resonator and sounds kinda ricey at WOT - beautiful at lower throttle. At least that's the way the 96+ and Cali Specs are. |

Thanks guys. We will all be getting together again soon enough. If you go to Houston-imports there is a thread I started for another Hooter's meet. And yes Jeff of course you are invited with your Ram truck. http://www.houston-imports.com/forums/show...641#post6696641 http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?act=ST...t=0#entry556562 Anyway back to topic: Playr, Bitchy, Pressure, Lagos, Tweak - what's the word? Will it work for now but not as effciently as a 12" should or will it straight up put harmfully hot air into my engine? If so should I just go with my Supra IC until I can afford a 6" tall one. And are 6" tall ones available with same side inlet and outlet? |

I'm could use some extra wrench turning hands for sure. Still need that damn 2 Bar Map - impossible to find locally I think. Take one out and you should be fine. I still have both though. No CEL's. If you have an aftermarket exhaust manifold then you will need to weld on a new bung for the second sensor. More info here clicky. Read step 10. Yeah but your car is OBD-I. His is OBD-II. o0black0o's car threw a cel when we did his even with both o2's hooked up. I've seen other cars do that also. And yes mandrel does mean a difference and just bigger piping isn't going to make that up. Especially if you are talking about on the header. You don't want a crush bent header. |

Playr - that's a really good Idea. The only thing is I actually like the gap between the hood and the bumper: ![]() Everyone besides Ngofcukingway that sees it in person really likes it too and it really looks like it's supposed to be that way. I had to point it out to other tuners who are not familiar with the GT4 enough to know that that is actually wrong. Plus air comes in and over the header/turbo and out the vent and keeps it way cooler that way. I know it would work the same way with the large opening on the GT4 where the Toyota sign is on the GT/ST bumper but this way looks like a hood scoop. If you could see the way the black coating is aging you would see what I'm talking about. The entire area between the front middle of the hood [where the gap is] and the large vent is still as black as when I installed the hood but the rest of the hood is a light gray now from the heat of the engine. The defining line of the moving air/faded painted is very precise. You can def see where the air is flowing in and out keeping the hood [and presumably the parts underneath] cool. Just as I predicted it would. I'll take a pic later to show you what I mean. I think that will really benifit the Turbo later on. Thanks for the very good idea tho. The other alternative would be to add the large upper bumper opening that the GT4 has directly to the GT bumper and mold it in like someone on here did a few years ago. I wish I knew who that was. But I really don't like that one. I think it ruins the vision I have for the body of the car. Basically the pic above with OEM front exstensions and everything painted to match is the way I've always wanted the car to look. I'm very happy with it visually and it's unique and it's 100% OEM. I like that. When people [like the parts manager at Joe Myer's Toyota last night] asks what body kit is that I'm proud to say "it's stock". So that said - will the air going up top on the intercooler effect the performance of the IC to less than say that of a 6" tall IC? I mean will hot air still be forced into my engine? If so is there a non permanent way to shut off the flow to the top on the inside of the IC? Does anyone wanna trade a 6" tall [preferably same side inlet and outlet] for the one I have? Mine is brand new never been used and the ends are capped of to keep stuff out. I'd take a used one as long as it's in like new condition - meaning no holes or repaired holes. Alternately yet again - I have a staock MKIII Supra T FMIC which is made for the CT-26 in my garage but it's sorta tall too. IDK. It is same side inlet and outlet. Plus it's black for that sleeper turbo look [which appeals to me]. That was my original plan. Thanks guys for your help and opinions. This is what 6GC is all about after all. QUOTE(lagos @ May 15, 2007 - 8:26 PM) [snapback]557989[/snapback] its probably too big and will restrict flow on the stock bumper. i would sell it and get something smaller for your setup. i have my spearco for sale if you (or anyone else) wants it. its the same one presure2 uses on his 5sfte. pm me if you want it. How much? I'd have to sell mine for the same price to get it. Got pics? |

SSautochrome [AKA SSautocrap] MR2 5S header - modified by me to fit the Celica. Initially I modified 2 headers one for my car one for Headers4u or something like that [he works for SSAC]. They paid for the second set to be modified and promised me the first production peice based on my redesign but then never replied to any of my phone calls, PM's or e-mails and basically i got stuck reworking all their crappy work on my header several times cause it kept breaking on me. I'm still really pissed cause I took some short cuts just to keep me rolling and spent more money than I had to in the long run cause I was expecting to get a finished production peice. All of this was like in '04. In the end I'm happy but 75% of it is my work and not theirs. If I had to do it again I would have gone with a better comp[any but IDK if anyone was actually making a header for the 5S Celicas back then. Damn - the least they could do would be to answer my damn e-mails or phone calls and say they were not going to make it after all. I would have taken one of their 3s Turbo manifolds or downpipes instead. $hit - now I'm mad again ![]() Edit - Oh BTW - I'm happy with my top end now with the header tho - much better feel up top then stock. |

OEM - I really dislike bodykits on the 6th Gen Celica. When I'm all done my body will consist of: -Stock body with facelift front and wing -Stock Sideskirts -GT4 Hood [yes I know doesn't look right to most with facelift/SS-III front - but it looks great to me] -OEM front Exstensions -OEM Rear Mudflaps And that's it. I really like the way that combo looks as I already did a Photoshop of it plus I already have all of it in place except the OEM Exstensions. Now with all that said will the IC be ok even though there is no air to the top? It will get as much air as is possible from the mouth and the small space above it. which would still be slightly more than a 6"tall IC because I will place it as low as possible [lower than the pic above by at least 3"]. Will the air going up top be a problem? Is there a way to block it off on the inside from going up top? I guess If I had to I could always add another opening/grill to the top of the bumper like someone on here did a few years ago but that would be well down the road and I'd like to avoid it if at all possible. I just really like the way that body combo looks and it would be unique using only OEM available parts. |
