Alright, so I think I'm going to buy some coilovers next week and I have a couple questions.
As far as a DIY install, how hard is it to complete and how long would you say it takes? Is there anything else part-wise, aside from what I would get with the coilovers that I should go ahead and purchase? Also, I have never really looked into them and need help with deciding on a make. I drive an ST204 so my options, it seems, are Megan, D2, XYZ, Ksport, or BC. Opinions?
As always, thanks for the help. smile.gif

have you replaced the fuel filter anytime recently?
also the Idle Air Control IAC could be old/dirty/unplugged

Thank you both. I was thinking about going ahead and doing the fuel filter and the fuel pump (it squeals when it starts up) this coming week. Will check the IAC as well.

Right, so I'm pretty sure I need to replace my fuel pump on my '97 GT. I'd like to just go ahead and get a Walbro, but I don't want to use a universal since I'm afraid the electrical connectors won't match up. Is there a Walbro aside from the universal that will just fit straight away that doesn't require any modification to the existing connection? Or if anybody knows more about the connection there and knows if they are universal as well, let me know. Any info appreciated!

Oh, and one more question while I'm posting... this has only happened a couple times so far, but maybe some of you would know something about it. There have been a couple mornings where I will start my car and it will be very rough, almost "puttering", and fluctuation between right around 800-900rpm. This has happened both when it is really cold outside, and really warm outside, so I don't think the weather is really a factor. Either way, if I give it gas, the rpms go up like normal, but when they fall, the car will die. Though once the car is running like that for a bit, it like... awakens. Haha. Any help or insight on that one?

Thanks so much for the help, all. smile.gif

I was on some eBay AG springs. I think the drop was 1.75" in the rear and 1.25" in the front. not sure but it was a nice drop.

Nice! I was thinking about 1" in the front and 1.5" in the back, so that's definitely doable then. Thanks so much for the info!

On my 95 st coupe sitting at factory hieght.
running 205-50-16 up front and 245-50-16 out back

Don't have any difference witbthe 245-50 out back than 205-50 all around

Running falkens and ha he almost 11k miles on then and they are great in all weather conditions

245/50 is pretty big. Reminds me of my coworkers car. He's running 245/60/15 on his lil Nissan stanza on a 7" rim.

To answer the OP. To stay in factory spec. Run 205/50/16 all around. Rubbing shouldn't be an issue at all since I ran on this setup before on lowering springs.

Awesome, thanks. It's getting new tires as we speak. smile.gif
How much did you lower? I was kind of wondering about that today as well. Next thing I'm doing is the KYB GR2s and some lowering springs since mine are just completely shot. Just wasn't sure on how much I can drop before I start getting rubbing problems! Thanks again for your help!

They're currently on brand new super treaded 205/65r16s and they are massive. Feels like a monster truck and the rub is just ridiculous. Haha. No clue what the people at that dealership were thinking putting those on there.

Hey, so I have a chance right now to get the 7th gen wheels off of my brother's (sadly totaled) Celica. The only thing I would need would be new tires since the ones that the dealership put on them are waaay too big for our cars. They rubbed like no other when he cornered in his '94.

My question, especially to those of you that currently have or have had experience with 7th gen wheels, is what size is going to fit best without rubbing and also still has options for good all season tires? Mine is a '97 GT, stock suspension.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry to hear that, man. Hope you get it all figured out!

My little brother had his Celica that he's had for a just a couple months totaled ($4300 in damage) in a hit and run accident on the 13th last month. He got these guys' license number AND we found the car the next morning and the police won't do anything about it because these guys are "really dangerous individuals", I guess. Turns out now that the insurance can't do anything about it either because these guys' Dad turned himself in for it, and because that doesn't match the police report or something, their insurance won't do anything about it if they cops don't, which they won't, and my little brother only had liability on his insurance. Now he owes $3k on his car AND is trying to figure out what to do with it now that it has $4300 in damage.

SO.. the situation could always be worse, I guess is what I'm saying here. Who knows. Look on the bright side of things! Maybe you'll get that $5k and find a deal on another Celica that is ****ing sick in comparison!

Removed as of today:

Hatch struts (pending)
Driver Side High (all tabs in tact)
Driver Side Low (all tabs in tact)
Fog Lights
Front Bumper
Front Turn Signals
Side Markers

Would you by chance be able to tell me what size of screws those are that hold the front turn signal assembly in (just the one right on the front of the lens)? Both of mine are stripped and I need to find something to replace them with before I superglue bits to them to get them out. Any help would be appreciated. smile.gif

Looking for roof headlining clips (the three on the roof right before the rear windshield), fusebox and relay covers, and lowbeam headlight gaskets. Got any?

Brand new floor mats are only $50-60 at the dealership. That's not bad. Otherwise, all I've been able to find are generic floor mats that you have to trim to shape yourself.

Really? I thought they were a lot more than that! I was talking to a guy that showed me something that said the original floor mats from a dealership would be like $1000 or something and I just thought that was ****ing nuts. Maybe I'll hit up the dealership and see what's good then! Thanks so much!

Yeah, so I'm looking for some new floor mats. I know this is kind of a weird and pointless post, but uhh... the ones I have at the moment aren't the stock floor mats and they fit all weird; that and the little rubber spikes on the bottom of the mat is more like little circular nubs or bumps if you will, so these mats slide around everywhere and like to roll up under my pedals, which yes, is exciting, but not too fun when you find out that you can't actually use your brakes. laugh.gif

Does anybody have some floor mats that they swear by? I'd get stock, but don't have the money that people are selling them for - especially not the dealership. I'm just looking for good-fitting (and good-looking) mats that aren't dangerous as all fu*k. Dying because you have sh*tty floor mats wouldn't be... cool, I guess.

Any help would be appreciated. thumbsup.gif
