I don't post much here, but I am trading in my celica for a 05 Matrix. I know I will miss my celica, but I am happy to have a new 4 door car.

Anyways, I took some pics and I just want to share them around.

Btw, I have an used K&N drop in filter. I am not giving it to the dealer so if anyone is interested, I will sell it for $20 or something + shipping. Or I will sell it at ebay.

Cheers.

Try changing the manual transmision fluid, it may not solve the problem entirely, but it should reduce the grinding.

my car is completely stock. I didn't have much trouble at all even for the unplowed sidestreets. I didn't have snow tires either. biggrin.gif Yeah, if you have a kit and lowered, you are likely to have more trouble with the snow.

In performance. 7th gen is better. GT is good for fuel economy, GTS for good performance. For the exterior, 7th gen has an edgier look, but it is ugly. The butt sits too high, and looks like a ship. A lot of ppl are split over 7th gen's looks, but almost all agree that 6th is the best looking. For interior, it is not as nice as 6th gen, it has more "plastic" look. The windows are so small, it is hard to see blind spots. The front seats are nice tho, but there's practically no room in the rear. 7th gen is quite a nice car, I don't think I will buy one if a need a new car.

How can you guys say it is ugly? Yes, it is the Vitz or the Yaris (europe). I love that little cars from playing GT3. However there won't be a turbo version available, just the 108hp crap.

Honda engines are torqueless. If you want to rev to 7000rpm everytime to get some decent power, go drive a honda.

Most probably is your tires slipping on 1st gear. Just ease up on the gas when starting. You people in california don't know how to drive in rain or snow redface.gif

But the 6th celica is a very predictable car in snow. For winter fun, I would corner quickly on snow (in quiet streets), the car will slide, and I'd have to steer to get the car straight again. But yet , the car feels very in control.

This is why you shouldn't drive too fast on the streets. On snow/rain, you have to drive extra slow. I learned this lesson a few years ago, when I got into a accident for the first time. I was driving too fast, and did not have enough time/distance to stop the car when the car in front suddenly stopped.

Many toyota cars in Japan have an different emblem in the front. The rear is the regular one, but the front is unique. But the celica has the regular toyota one, anyway heres some pics

I installed NGK iridium plugs on my car. I don't notice much gain in hp. However it seem to improve fuel efficiency a little bit. The rpm at neutral is also lower than before, it is at 800 now. My old plugs were in really bad shape. so I need to replace them anyways. These plugs will last a long time, probably till the rest of my car's life. They are worth the money.

Some features that I like for the different years.

94-95: I like the stock 2 point rear wing over the 3-point style.

96-99: new front bumper style w/ clear bumper lights w/ factory foglights. Some have factory side skirts.

99: 3 point stearing wheel !

$15K CDN for loaded 95 GT-S with leather and other goodies. Bought it in 2001. It is kind of expensive, but it is worth it.

I have a K&N drop in air filter. I know it is better than normal filters, but franky, I don't notice any performance difference.

My Rear nozzle works, but it sucks. It just drips a few drops on the rear windshield. That's why I never bother to use it.

I have a question about the our front nozzles, my squirt out "beams" of fluids instead of "spray". That uses up a lot of fluids specially in the winter time. I am just curious is that the same for other 6 gens?

They are available at the dealers for sure. Just tell them you want mud guards for your car. But I think are pretty expensive.

Like others said, Fix the car, give her a discman or boombox.
