Its been a while since ive posted on this forum (b/c i havent driven my 6gc for a while) Anyways my doors are rusting really badly so I looked at car-part.com and it turns out that a salvage yard has a celica with both of its doors. My questions are My car is manual right now, what will i need to do b/c the salvage car is power windows and doors? Will it be a big deal to do this swap? How much should I pay for the salvage doors if they are in good condition? thanks btw does anyone want me to look for any parts? |

Quick question for you guys, I have had a problem with the power steering on my 94 ST for the last 2-3 months, the leak is significant enough that i have to top the reservior every other time i drive the car. The fluid is leaking from somewhere and i have changed the RACK, the High pressure line, Return, and the 2 rubber hoses leading from the low pressure to the reservoir. I havent changed the reservior yet thats the only thing left right? Is there a power steering filter or something htat could be leaking? That is what Autozone told me to try. Thanks |

On my daily driver 01 Acura TL i have a little problem. The car just came back from the body shop were they changed on of exhaust pipes. Im talking about the end of hte exhaust the canister. The problem is that the new one is black and looks all nice, while the other side that was not changed is dirty and the black paint has come of and is now silver. What kind of paint or spray paint should i use to fix this problem. Should I make the shop buy me another one. I like having the car look perfect. Now if only my 6gc looked perfect!! |

You have to know the limitations of your car. If you dont youll end up in a sutuation that you dont want to be in. And if you guys really wanna race take it to a abandoned lot, or to a track. You will kill someone doin it in the street or in a side street. |

Funny that this topic came up. I just got A speeding ticket about a week ago. This is my first ticket so i was scared and I didnt say anything to the cop. I was going no more than 40 in a 30. It was on a main road right by my house. The cop was comming down in the opposite lane. I see him and I immediately slow down. I dont think anything of it and I slow down. Normally I go 50 down this street and cops pass by and dont care. The cop stops me and asks me for my licence, rights me a ticket for going 51 in a 30, and tells me to go. I come to my senses a second after he gives me the ticket and go looking for the cop. I live in a small suburb right next to chicago so i had a good idea where the cop was going to hide next. I tell him that i wasnt goign over 40, he says it does not matter and that i was still speeding. I ask him for a radar reading and he says that he deleted it. I think it was imposible for him to have had the radar on becuase the look on his face when i asked him, and becuase he was moving in the opposite direction and he acnowledged that i was going under what he wrote on the ticket. After 2 minutes of arguing he told me to plead not guilty, and that he would let me go with a small fine and supervision because it was my first time. Can i fight this, what can i do? Thanks |

I got it, I took a hairdryer as i was told to and heated up the hole. I got the key in and the lock only opened 1/2 way. After 3-4 minutes of heating the hole i got the idea of heating the area where the latch was from the outside. I stuck the key in and giggled it open and closed for a while and finally it popped. When it gets a little warmer im gonna check if something is wrong with the springs or the lock assymbly. Thanks for all your imput. |

im pissed. I cant get into my celica. I have a 94 ST coupe. I have manual door and windows so i cant get in without opening the door without the key. I cant get in its frozen. I bought de-icer (WD-40). and the lock is turning 1-2 way. When i look inside at the door latch its opening and locking but opening 1/2 way. I tried the same with the trunk. Ive gotten into the trunk but i cant get into the passenger compartment. How do i get into the car?? is it possible to get into the car through the trunk, how do i pull the seats down from the trunk?? |

I have a 94 Celica ST with cloth interior. I have an uncle that owns a leather jacket company and he is willing to give me some leather. The leather is washed, and treated. How hard will it be to stich, do you guys know if any company does this? My plan is to put leather over the cloth seats, do i take the cloth of or do i take it off before putting the leather on. What kind of leather should i get? I have a choice between Cow, lamb, and Sheep |

OK, in the end this was not a race for you in the 6gc but a race for him. It sounds like you were not trying to launch your car or trying to strain it at all. The Integra on the other hand was redline like there was no tomorrow. And for the comment made about my Acura, i was not comparring it to any 6gc, it is in a class by itself. That is comparing a 30k car to a 4k car. I like my celica because it is stick and a lot more fun to drive. The Acura is a luxury car that is smooth. The comment made about the Acura RSX is that it is slow as a mother in the lower RPM's but in the highet revs it does get speed but it does not make up for the lack of power in the lower RPM range. All Hondas are like that which i just dont like. |

QUOTE(Kwanza26 @ Dec 24, 2004 - 6:15 AM) QUOTE(junhus69 @ Dec 24, 2004 - 4:32 AM) No offense to anyone here. I may not know as much as all of you but i do know this. This race was 100% a drivers race. If i was going to race my cousin's husband (he has a 03 viper RT/10) i have a chance of beating him if he stalls of the line with my celica. This guy just needs to learn how to manage his power, you have a really nice car. The Integra Type R is a really nice car but its not the ****, more like a piece of **** compared to a 3s-gte powered 6gc. Practice and race him again, i garuntee you wont be able to count the car lenghts between you at the finish!!! I do take offense to this. Why? don't call something sh!t because its image was bastardized by the import scene. You obviously know jack about the car in question and obviously are just blowing chow to sound cool. Who the hell are you to judge something as crap when your car, shall I say, a vast majority of our cars, are nothing compared to an ITR? I don't often see Honda people talk crap about Celicas... I'm curious why some people here are so ignorant and simply say "it sucks" without any knowledge or justification... If it being a ricer car or 'common' is your reason, a slow car with fancy exterior mods is more of a ricer any day than a riced out Integra with a B18C... You state that i dont know anything about Hondas. I have A 2001 Acura TL as a daily driver. I have had a 02 Acura RSX from the dealer for a week when my cars tranny got reacalled and it was slow as hell. All these guys with there VETEC, well i have driven a bunch of the hondas and i have still yet to be amazed with this VETEC!. My favorite quote from one of my friends is, "Man when the VETEC kicked in i couldnt control the car man, it was so fast". This is pure bull i drive a honda everyday, get sick of it sometimes, its not as reliable as my 6gc but i go on the highway everyday and it is faster and a lot smoother. |

What the hell? How did you loose? I can see you spinning of the line but you shoud have taken him the second you hit 3rd. What is this, is the 3sgte so crappy that a stock honda can beat it. If i was gonna dump 4-6k in my car i want it to kill almost anything on the road. No offense but you need to work long and hard on launches and get better tires. Is it really true 3s-gte's are this slow. And from your profile you have a 2nd gen what is this???? |

I bought a clutch kit from an online dealer, the cheapest one i could find $113. It turned out that the pressure plate was the wrong size. I went to the dealer and payed $185 for a brand new kit. Dealers arent that bad if you go to the parts department alot the guy starts hooking you up to. I just got a toyota key from the guy 1/2 off. The parts guy can give you discounts becuase he writes the invoice. I learned my lesson nothing on ebay or online for my car, except aftermarket stuff. Also the biggest plus is you can return at anytime and you dont have to wait a week or worry about a deadbeat seller. |

On monday night everyone i knew was studying for their final exams on tuesday. 2 of my friends decieded to go to the library, there they saw 2 of my other friends. One of the guys wants to buy my other friends cars so he asks him he could take the car around the block, my friend thinks about it and says yeah. He doesnt go with him b/c he was studying hard. I get a call 2 hrs later from the owner of the car stating that i should call the guy that test drove the car becuse hes been gone for 2 hrs and has not brought the car back. Im thinking to my self that my friend is an idiot for giving his car keys to someone. So i tell him hes a dumb ass and that they probably stole it. I was online at the time and my friend on aim tells me that there was this big accident on skokie bulovard, 2 min away from the library. Im like **** maybee. I ask him if there was a honda civic involved he like yeah. I call up my friend the owner of the car to tell him about the accident. he does not belive me and i tell him that im gonna meet him down there. i get there and it turns out to be them. Thsnk god no one is dead b/c they were not wearing any seat belts and they were ejecterd from the vehicle. The driver has a broken arm and the passenger has 5 broken vertebretes but i hope he e gonna have a full recovery. Who's insurance is gonna pay for this?? THe owner of thr car, or the guy driving the car?? |

I bought a clutch kit for my 94 Celica ST from Gripforce.com for 113 dollars. I gave the clutch to my mechanic who was supposed to swap out the old one and put in the new one. When he took out the old one he didnt look to see if the 2 pressure plates the old one and the new one matched. He mounted the new clutch and put it back together. He went to start the car and the pressure plate which was to big was grinding against the bellhousing of the tranny. He lets the car sit there for 2 days without calling me or anything. Im in the process of studying for a chemistry exam so the car is not the first thing that is on my mind. I go to pick up the car and he tells me the problem. I get pissed and tell him that he should have called me when he had the car open, he didnt he just assumed and put everything back together. My uncle told him to fix it so he orderd the parts from toyota and the car i supposedly fixed. HE WANTS TO CHARGE ME DOUBLE FOR INSTALL!! I have talked to 3 technicians that i know and i talked to a toyota tech and they all said it was his f'ing fault for not checking the pressure plates Should i pay him double what is a reasonable price including the 185 dollar clutch kit. |
