KBB is a joke and if the car is more than a few years old it's hardly ever an accurate portrayal of what the car is actually worth. Besides if you never sell it then it doesn't matter how much you spend on it, to a degree. ![]() Couldnt agree more with you box. My problem with the KBB value of vehicles is that no matter what vehicle it is, if at any point the project becomes a little too much and you are putting it out there for interest, almost every offer is at KBB because people are always looking for a deal. It happened with my '00 GTS, '91 MR2 NA-T, '87 RX-7 T-II, and even my '96 GT when I was considering selling it. I feel like most enthusiasts hit the point, sooner or later, where we are on the fence of selling our car due to many different reasons. I have fully decided to keep this '96 GT because out of all my other vehicles, this one has the most complete dream part list. That being said, my girlfriend loves the car, and knows how much she means to me. |

My girlfriend loves the car actually. She gets upset that I have spent more than the cars KBB value in parts and repairs but she knows I love this car so she doesn't really complain too much. Her and a lot of people actually compliment my car even with the bad clear coat. It still surprises me, maybe it's just because I have this vision of my celica in my head of how she used to look and what she will look like after I'm done with the new paint job. |

Installed my projectors finally. Also replaced the LEDs in my gauge cluster and had to do a lot of switching the bulbs around because some wouldn't turn on, some would stay on for no reason (battery and gas but I have a full tank) so I kept the stock halogens in those areas. Problem was solved. |

Today I wished there was a "like" button on the forums. So many of you guys doing awesome work on the celicas! Really though today I will install my engine mount inserts and maybe take off my passenger side knuckle to get a new bearing pressed in. |

Amazing sounding exhaust. I was able to get one from a member here last year. I absolutely love it. GLWS if I have extra funds I'd love to get those projectors from you. |

I have an open request for all of the owners of the awesome non US celica owners both GT4 and SSIII alike! Would it be possible to get precise measurements on placement of the sidemarkers? I, like most US owners, am trying to make my celi look like how it was originally envisioned. I feel like these measurements can help out many other owners here on the forums. JDM sidemarker 6gc Info This is the link to the write-up on how to install them, but there is no exact measurements. Thank you in advance. |

I have fixed the door! I was toying around with my other door to figure out a way to get it open without having to break anything. I lowered the window and took a thin metal rod and bent the tip into an L shape and while using my iphones light i was able to pull up the rod that was connected to my outer door handle. Turns out the spring mechanism on the replacement door was stuck. After i got it open i swapped out the replacement lock mechanism for my working one. Now everything is all good! The door was actually a repainted door and it is a darker shade than my car is. But i will either be doing a full repaint or maybe just dip the car. IDK at the moment, im just happy that one problem was fixed. On to the next problem |

I think that is the case yes. Im at the point where im trying to decide which one is more worth it to destroy to get it open, the door or the new panel. i just replaced both and it would kill me to have to cut open a good condition premium speaker door panel. But at the same time cutting the door open would defeat the whole purpose of me getting the replacement door as well. |

I am able to get to the rods that operate from the inside handle.but no matter how much i move them the door wont open. I think it may be the rod that connects to the door lock . But i have no way of accessing that |

Hey 6GC I have a problem that i couldn't solve. Today i swapped out my old dented up door for a good condition one that I was able to get from a member here. During the door swapping process the door closed, and it was not opening. Luckily i didn't have the panel on and i could manipulate all the parts for the handle to work on the inside. After a lot of cussing and frustration i was finally able to get it open. I did swap out my lock tumbler from my original driver door so i can use the same key for everything, After looking at all the parts more carefully i decided to test out the door. I closed it and it opened! i was so happy that i did that about 15 times. After that i decided to finally put everything together, and it was going smoothly. I wasnt having any troubles at this point. When i was moving my car out of the driveway to park it on the street, i saw that my lock indicator on the handle was saying that it was unlocked. I found that a little odd so i hit the lock button and heard the sound of my locks working, but the drivers side was staying open. I manually moved it to lock, and found that i could still open my door. I went back in, manually unlocked it and then opened my door. After that i manually locked it AND hit the lock button, and now i cant get my door open. Is there any way to get this door open again? i cant take off the door panel to access the guts of it and im completely stumped. Does any one of the celica gurus here have any idea what is going on? |
