no cat + turbo and you are going to blow flames (or at least pop one during heavy load shifts) unless you are running very lean. |

why worry about it, a 6th gen is really not going to pull a lateral g. no way, the suspension was never made for it. |

they say that water will absorbe into the material and trap it next to the metal until until you turn your cars on, to me this dosnt make since as the water will evaporate as soon as it touchs your header. ive had friends with header wrap on rsx-s race headers and took the wrap off only to reveal shinny clean metal, and my 7th gens header was wrapper no problems. but your really only going to make 1-2hp extra not even measurable. |

why didnt you just switch to a short ram, the bypass will just suck air from the engine bay all the time just like a short ram. |

you should read the stickies, they cover the fact that a supra engine swap not matter what year is no where near feasable without 15gs in your pocket and tearing the cars frame apart. as for the silver top (please correct me if im wrong) the silvertop 4age 20v and the black top MAP 20 valve were never offered in the america vehicles, the red and blue tops were though. so chances are what you saw was not a silver top. |

you definatly cant use the levin tranny for the 4age swap. you either need an mr2 tranny or your current tranny from the st. as for better boosting the 3sge is a better bet, its definatly a more solid block and the extra displacement will yeild much greater spool time on a larger turbo. its up to you, 3sge - bitch to tune vvt for turbo applications, but its going to yeild much more power. 4age - your going to seach the stratusphere for torque. but its going to be easier to put into an st. |

IMO the 3s head just dosnt flow enough. which gen 3sgte are you talking about though. he 2nd gen is what people mostly have. and yeah the intake manifold is kinda restrictive. but on the newer 3s like the caldina that isnt a porblem. well so im told. yeah i was talking about the 2nd gen, the IM does flow horrible and im pretty much firmly against AFM when your trying to get maximum flow. but if im correct the 3rd gen 3s mas MAF? |

abs wouldnt be a bad idea. its pvc but its flame retardent. its also black. i dont think it comes in bends but to bend it. get a outdoor deep fryer. those big ones. and het it up to 450+ F. stick the pipe in there and pull it out and bend it. oh also its really cheap. |

im going to go ahead and disagree with a lot of points you made here. you really say log manifolds are horrible, i think theyre amazing if thats what you want. cheap, not going to break, and will provide great downlow torque. you say equal length results in less hp? Huh are you kidding me? equal length will result in a longer spool but a higher torque band and thus more hp. full race did a test on this. and from switching to a regular (not log) to theyre full race manifold on a 300whp b18c1 they gained 50whp untuned. points. log - quicker spool, not going to break, great low end torque equal length - longer spool, better torque up top, better high end hp, great for engines turning 8k rpms+. |

QUOTE(epinasty @ Feb 10, 2006 - 9:51 PM) So with the a/f target maping i could just set a ratio i want and the unit will try to keep the engine running there?? Hey for a guy with no tunning experience that sounds good. Anyone have either of these and can give some insight on what each can actually do without harnesses. I can read the vauge greddy explination but i don't actually know what the unit is like. If you use the support tool do you think i could learn to tune this properly or should i just find a dyno? Wannabe, know any dyno's in the witchita area? ehhh, concerning the taget mapping its not really that easy. what you going to do is adjust a/f at certain rpms for different load bank. youll end up with a spread sheet kinda thing. Throttle 100rpm 200rpm 300rpm 5% 16.5 16.2 10% 15.9 15% 14.5 you get the idea. also ive heard something about a password for the support tool to edit the maps, but im not entirely sure on this. something around that idea. |
