I finally added some sound clips for the OBX catback in the multimedia section since I was asked a couple of times. I have a GTFour with intake and standard cat and midpipe. The OBX is from the midpipe back not from the cat. |

I have been asked a couple of times what the Ebay OBX Catback sounds like on the ST205 so I thought I would start this thread to upload sounds in case someone is interested. I have been waiting until I got a drive by but it won't be soon so I thought I should upload what I have and add when I get more. General fit etc was excellent and I had no issues with rattles. I had the flex pipe replaced and it wasn't done exactly right so I now have a slight rattle when starts up so it must have been a very tight fit to begin with. I noticed lately that I have a popping sound when shifting when the car is warm but I need a new lambda so I am attributing it to that. It runs very rich at the moment and I had not issue with this noise before. The only real issue I have is that there is a whistle at around 6500 rpm when I have the silencer in but it isn't there when it is out. It sounds like it is coming from under the hood so it may be that I have a leak somewhere that I can't find. No Silencer idle cold No Silencer idle hot In car accelerating no silencer These videos were made using my phone...static etc but all I have at the moment. 71mb Video no silencer 39mb Video no silencer 42mb Video with silencer |

I would also be interested. I realize these don't fit the front arms but I've already done all the front arms and I'm now looking at the rear arms. |

Love the car...don't like the price of parts but it is amazing that most parts are still available from Toyota in UK. Best price I've found is from TCB performance parts in UK. Very nice to deal with and fast shipping. I used to get my shipments through DHL but now they are coming by UPS...blah. TCB Parts Last shipment for Toyota original pads front and rear, crush tubes, cap, rotor, belts and various small items was $50 shipping and $25 for brokerage fees. |

AT 65,000 in an ST205 a slight suspension knock is $1000+ and that's just parts. That mileage is just about right for the fig 8s and control arms to go. Usually one side just after the other. Control arms are usually $340 and fig 8s are around $150. Shipping and tax around $100. It adds up fast but damn nice car to drive, I would do it again. |

It looks like some people on GT4OC have dealt with them but I haven't personally. I would love to find somewhere in the USA or Canada to order parts from at a decent price. The exchange (x1.6?) and shipping is a bit much but I've been getting all my parts from Fensport and TCB performance parts. |

I don't have one personally but have been thinking about it next for my St205. Aussie one from UK. Aussie Downpipe Berk one is supposed to be better because it has a flex section so it doesn't crack but I don't know how tight if fits. Berk Pipe I've been told that if you're fitting a downpipe for a 3SGTE make sure you get the mount to secure it to the block or it will crack...or the Berk pipe. Bracket The st205 pipe has one more stud(7) but the older ones(6) are 'supposed' to fit. I don't think I like mounting it with one less stud just to save a few bucks. Here is a 6 stud one with the bracket and lifetime warranty. MR2 Lifetime |

I've been looking for a source for ST205 parts in Canada or the USA but in the mean time I get all my parts from TCB Parts in UK. The prices seem reasonable and they have a surprising amount of parts available. With the exchange I don't think its any cheaper but it should be available. Check shipping prices first though. I was talking with TCB Performance Parts yesterday and they said they were getting new weatherstrips and belt mouldings in a couple of weeks. |

If you are still looking...I just put the OBX R on my GT4 and it fit perfect. It sounds just a bit louder than stock with the silencer in and I think a bit too loud with it out. Seems to run stronger with the silencer out. With the silencer in I get a whistle at around 6500-7000 RPM and I know it wasn't there before I put the exhaust on. I tried to video the sound with my phone but it doesn't work well. |
