My car (1.8T Jetta) uses a diverter valve, which just diverts (duh) the air back into the intake stream when I let off the throttle. The stock valve and setup doesn't make much noise but now I'm running a Forge 007P piston-type valve (opposed to the stock diaphragm-type) with an AEM CAI and its very very loud. I scare people on the side of the road when I drive by ![]() The point: the whoosh isn't good or bad in itself-- just make sure you do what's right for your car. Some people with 1.8T's use BOV's and end up putting themselves into limp mode or making their cars run like crap since we use a MAF sensor. |

The 5th gen ones don't come with end links. I don't know if the 6th gen ones are different. Do any of you guys know where to buy replacement bushings for these bars? Mine are pretty worn out in the rear and the bar has an uncommon measurement so I can't use whiteline polyurethane. |

Sounds just like the valve I heard on a 350Z that comes with the GReddy twin turbo kit, whichever BOV that is. |

That's a good point. I think you might want to look into that a bit farther. My 4AFE hg was flipped upside-down (thanks a ton to my dad who put the gasket on when I wasn't looking in the first place) and even though the holes matched up, they still didn't match up 100% perfect. This caused a massive oil leak and took a ton of work to fix with the motor in the car. |

I'm actually looking into a blacktop swap in my 93 ST right now with the 6spd transmission. That would be one awesome ride, especially with the throttle bodies run open-element with some nice velocity stacks. You can also use the Ford EDIS-4 from the 1.9L Tempo/Tracer coupled with Megasquirt and make some great power with it. If you wanna go NA, that's the best route. You will pay the price though. If you decide to go silvertop, Jarco is getting an AE101 clip in this week and selling for $1650. |

I usually don't like that kit of the fenders but those headlights and the TRD wing even it out. Awesome color, too! But come on man.. putting a system in makes it "done" ? 3S! ![]() |

Hey nik, how close are the runners on that B-series manifold to matching up with a 7AFE/4AFE head? I'm doing a 4AFTE, currently planning on using a Jgstools manifold, but would love to have a manifold like that. I know the 4AFE and 7AFE exhaust ports are the same size & location, so could you possibly check it against a 7AFE head for me? |

Everything playr mentioned looks good, but I suggest getting a wideband O2 setup. They're falling in price and will be WELL worth it for tuning. And on that subject, you should seriously look into a standalone EMS, especially if you do the head swap. You will have to do custom wiring for the EMS so the wiring issue won't be a problem ![]() I eventually plan to build a very nice 7AGTE 20V turbo setup for an AE86. |

I live in Tampa and the Celica crew down here actually had a meet there not too long ago. All their work is very impressive, especially that on the 240SX's they have in there ![]() One of the guys that works there also has a 90 or 91 JDM GT-Four, which we saw there. Very cool. I'd recommend them.. but why are you looking all the way in Florida? |

Make sure you get a 93+ MR2 turbo transmission with LSD. This is CRUCIAL to put the power to the ground or you'll always have trouble with eating tires. You could always so it w/o LSD, via non-LSD MR2 transmission, or the stock Celica S53, but traction would never compare to that of an LSD tranny. Build the motor, of course. Finally, look at this Celicatech.com thread: http://www.celicatech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=508 Read up. They're engineering a flange to bolt on any Mitsubishi T-series turbo to a stock (or CT pattern flanged) manifold. It will be cost effective (read: cheap!) and will allow you to use any of these great, relatively cheap turbos on your 3S (think big 16G ![]() |
