QUOTE
1996 Toyota Camry/Avalon/ES300
Piston Diameter: 43.5mm
Piston Count: 2
Total Piston Area: 2902.93mm2 (29.0293cm2)

Had I known about the Camry/Avalon caliper options I would have gone with them! But I'm happy with the ones I got smile.gif

After reading up on Norberto's thread, I've decided to try upgrading to MR2 Turbo twin piston calipers in the front. He used JDM calipers, so I wanted to see if USDM's would also work. First step was to buy some from Autozone. They have remanufactured ones for $48 a piece. Not bad!

So I tried doing a test fit and... they work!

The caliper bolts right on to the 6th gen mount bracket. You don't even need to replace the slide pins if you don't want to!

Now that I know they'll fit all I need to do is paint them. I'm considering also getting new mounting brackets since mine are rusty where the slide pins are inserted. One weird thing to note is that I put the left MR2 caliper on the right side of my Celica. It looks like the place where the banjo bolt screws in on the left caliper is tilted the same way as the Celica right caliper. I don't think there will be any issues with swapping the sides they're mounted on...

Next items on the brake system upgrade list:
  • Remanned 6th gen rear calipers
  • 7th gen drilled rotors in the front
  • 6th gen drilled rotors in the rear
  • 6th gen Hawk brake pads all around
  • Possibly new 6th gen front mounting brackets

I just wanted to start a thread about the miscellaneous upgrades I'll be doing to my 1995 white vert. She already has a BEAMS swapped in so there won't be any interesting posts on that unfortunately. But I do have a few other interesting things in mind! One of the biggies will be painting it since the paint is looking a bit worn. I plan on going with a super white color.

Well here she is so far.

Notice the Curren tails and the awesome Borla exhaust!

Momo Course Rev 18" wheels and Crystal Clear side markers

And the BEAMS... biggrin.gif

First order of business: upgrade the brakes/calipers/rotors and throw on some new tires!

Selling my '95 GT hatchback! I've had it for 3 years, but decided to upgrade to a convertible BEAMS! She has been super reliable for me. I've religiously changed the oil in her every 3,000 miles (or sooner) using Castrol GTX high mileage. Also I recently put in fresh gear oil, Redline GL4 75W-90.

Upgrades:
short shifter with fake TRD knob, drilled/slotted front rotors, '96 leather seats (front), clear turn signals, new black rims with good tires

Replacements:
KYB struts (1.5 years old), rear end links, both rear calipers, drivers CV axle, NGK spark plugs and wires, Autocraft battery, PCV valve, recently recharged AC

Bad news:
Speedo doesn't work but I have a GPS to use for speed, Odometer stopped at 188k before I bought her and I put 20k miles on. Stereo has not worked since I've owned her, just haven't had the money to try and fix it.

Asking $2,500 OBO. Check out the pics on my profile!

I also commented on freddy121389's post, but I'm selling my '95 GT hatch!

Upgrades include '96 leather front seats, 7th gen short shifter, KYB struts, and drilled/slotted front rotors. Interior is very nice. I've treated this car very well!

Do you have rear calipers that will fit a 95 GT?

How much for the metal bar that holds the headlights? The top clip of the high beams screws into this bar.
