I have a 94 st stock motor and everything. however the engine like all Toyotas it got an oil leak 3 years ago I think I've tried random leak fixers here and there and nothing's fixed it completely and now I do believe my head gasket is blown or is about to go the car runs rich blows white smoke out the pipe and over heats super fast so its a pretty safe bet I think. my question is do you guys think its work fixing the motor up and having a shop look at it or just tell them to replace the whole stupid thing I'm guessing their both going to be expensive. oh! the motor has 200,000+ miles to if that helps thanks for reading!

3vz v6 swap would be cheapest
Just check local junk yards an get a front cut with most of what youll need

cant do a 3VZ here in CA, since he has a 94 he has to use a 1MZ. Now for the OP, where in CA are you, im in the middle of a V6 swap right now and i can totally help you do yours.

thanks i wouldnt have known that i'm local by santa cruz

I was more asking about ideas on my car not my budget but thanks for the input. As for your question just because it's not an issue i'm not going to go crazy i was giving an estimate. kthanks

v6 is a cheaper option as you can buy a donor car locally. look for a manual camryr v6 and theres ur engine and trans, wiring, afm, etc. just will need mounts, axles and shifter cables.

v6 can be done for 2.5-3k
3sgte will take 5k or so

thank you I'll look into it

I have a stock 94 Celica ST and I want to give it some more power. I've been looking into converiting the auto tranny to a 5 speed as well as upgrading the 7afe to a larger engine. money isn't really a issue but I'm looking at around $5,000 for the project. does anyone know a kit that works or what size engine would be best? thanks
