I think BMWs are great, but the parts are really expensive and any german luxury car these days thats at least 10 years old is going to have a lot of electronic gremlins. Unless you've got the dough to fix the VANOS etc when it breaks down... not worth it.

I know I'm a yankee living up north, but I don't know where on earth you can get a good condition 90s corvette for 4k.

Handed the keys to my celica to undasighted. She's Ohio-bound now. Glad I found her a good home.

The Porsche doesn't make the Celica look small but... (taken today)

The Tesla makes it look like a toy: (taken a few days ago)

Don't worry man. She'll be in good hands and pampered. I can tell how much love you've poured in to her since you got her. I can't wait to meet her (and you) on Wednesday smile.gif

Now to find some 6gc crew to meet up with when I stop in Pittsburgh on the way back to Ohio. So stoked to be coming back to the 6th gen scene with such a beautiful car smile.gif

decided I have to put the Celica up for sale since I'm moving back to the city and can only really keep one car. Anyone looking for a ST?

have far do you actually sit back in the seat?? i'm 6 feet and 0.50 inches tall. so you are at most, 3 inches taller than me. i weigh 165 pounds as well

i sit pretty close to the steering wheel. even at the farest setting of the seat scooted all the way back its too far away from me.
I have a 99 celica GT. So the celica should be able to accomodate your legs which are 3.5 inches taller than mine.

the rule of thumb is your wrists should be able to sit directly at 12 o clock. that way you can maneuever you car as quickly as possible in case something fly's in front of you.

i work as a valet at a dealership and i always see people sitting back way farrther than they should be and they are almost always shorter than me. of course that is unless your large.

My legs are long and knees are close to the wheel. Another two inches would help that and not affect reach. Also, with the sunroof and the headliner thus further down, I have no headroom at all. that would be helped as well. In my Accord, I don't move the seat all the way back, but in the Celica I have to and its not too comfy.

Here it is. Finished painting it! Still waiting a couple days for the paint to cure so I can sand it, rub it, polish it, and wax it. wink.gif

nice work!

Adhesive promoter then primer, then follow with colour coat and clear. Let it sit for about a week then wet-sand it with high grit sand paper, then use buffing compound followed by polishing compound. Then wash and wax. Of course that's me being OCD, you could probably bypass the compounds and just wash and wax after wet-sanding.

i used polish and wax

One last question before I start spraying. Im going to spray a layer of the clear adhesive promoter then spray on top of that white primer. Is that durable? Or should I just skip the white primer and spray on my silver paint?

I used the primer, but I think it would come out the same without it.

Thats exactly what I used for the adhesive promoter, and then I used primer, black, paint, and clear coat. mine came out okay and looked just like yours after sanding

I used Autozone's loan-a-tool service and got the coil spring compressor tool, but didn't really need it on the rears. Especially to put my TRD springs on. They were pretty loose on the rear struts.
