Hi

Is there a diganostic cable available that will enable you to plug into a laptop and read codes, capture live data etc.?

I have a 1995 Celica GT convertible. 2.0 auto, Jap import. 3S-GE engine I think...

Have seen this on Ebay but have no idea if it will fit, and if it does what do I couple it to ? ( I have a Bluetooth OBDII dongle for my phone I used to use on a much newer Subaru Legacy)

Hi

have a JDM convertible 1995.

the drivers side door mirror is rattling and seems a little loose on its folding pivot. Seems bolted to the door OK.

Its a powerfold.

How do I get to it so I can check it is fastenned on OK, and is there some adjstment/bolt that can be tightenned to stop it.

Slightly worried it might drop off too.......

Can I leave the mirror on the car or do I have to have the door trim ec off so I can unbolt it ??

Hi everyone,

I have a 95 JDM GT Convertible.

Bought it a few years ago, and dealer fitted a brand new roof.

I only drive it in summer, not very often, but always with roof down.

There are two small wear patches developing on each side of the roof in same place on each side, and they seem to be developing quite quickly even though I dont drive it that often.

I consulted a car trimmer who does roofs, and he said it is a design fault with the mechanism, and that there is some tab in the mechanism that sticks out when the roof folds down and this pokes out and wears the holes.

Is there some kind of adjustment that can stop this, and is it a known problem ?

or some kind of fix eg putting a patch inside to stop the rubbing or something over this "tab"

Once saw another celica convertible in the supermarket and it also had the holes in the same place.

Hi

I need to have installed some front camber bolts to resolve an unequal front camber issue on the car.

It is a 1995 Jap Import 2.0 GT Convertible (auto) (ST202C ?) completely unmodified on standard suspension and wheels/tyres and has standard Macpherson strut suspension.

I have been looking at various bolts available, and most suppliers stock Eibach Part No. 5.81270K which claim to be 15mm, and there are a few other as well listing 15mm. SPC WHich I thin make Eibachs list this year celica as 15mm.

Howver on the Fensport website, they list both 15mm (Fensport brand) and 17mm (whiteline make) front bolts when I search under ST202 2.0 GT - when I emailed them to see which I needed they said I needed 17mm for the front......

I also found these US ones which are 17mm

https://www.optionsauto.com/hrsprings/prodi...number=HR-TC117

I'm based in the UK...

Can anyone tell me which I need, and which are the best to get ? I dont want them to be too small and therefore slip, or too big and not be able to be fitted.

Cheers

Dave

Thanks for the reply

What brand bolts did you use ?

I am having trouble working out which ones I need.

Eibach Part Number: 5.81270K are showing as 15mm, but Fensport in the UK are listing some Whiteline ones which are 17mm.

What diameter do I need ?

My car is Jap import 1995 2.0GT convertible (auto )

The car has standard Macpherson strut front suspension, not the superstrut (which I hewar is really expensiv/dfficult to sort out)

I have the same issue. In my case, I used camber bolts on both sides to equal the camber and bring it up to spec.

Hi

My first posting on this forum, but here goes....

I have an import 1995 2.0 GT Convertible (auto if it makes any difference), it is pulling to the left and the left (passenger ) front wheel is leaning in more than the right. (about half an inch more at the top if you compare sides)

had it looked at by a 4-wheel alignement place, who said they couldn't adjust the camber...

Had it looked at by my local garage/MOT place, who said they "took a few measurements underneath and everything looked identical both sides" but they thought at least one if not both of the shock-absorbers had been changed at some time. Car has done 98000km.

They also said there was no evidence of any accident repairs, and that the car was "pristine" underneath (I only drive it summer months on dry days for days out).

They suggested that possily something was either bent, or had been taken apart at some point and incorrectly re-assembled, or incorrect/badly aligned parts fitted.

I've not had any work done, and not knowingly hit anything/struck the kerb/down a big pothole either - car was also fresh to me on import.

they said without having new suspension parts to compare with they couldn't advise what was worng/bent.

Any ideas what could be causing this ?

I have seen there are camber bolts that can be bought/fitted for some cars - are these available and is this a solution ?

Or is ther a more sensible approach.

I'm based in UK, SW London....

Thanks in advance....

David

Thaks for the advice ..

Is the alternator on my import different or same as a UK 3S-GE engine ???

I rang one reconditioner who seemed to be trying the sucking the teeth act and "ooh yeah the parts for ipmorts are really expensive" game.... so am I about to be fleeced ?

Hi All,

My 1995 convertible (grey Import so jap spec) has been in storage all winter.

just took it to be MOT'd - drove perfectly, no warning lights.

Went to collect it they said two warning lights had come on when they started it up to drive it into the MOT centre from the car-park.

There is the charge (battery symbol) and also "toaster" style symbol (catalyst ??) both on at once.

Tried disconnecting/reconnecting the battery to clear ECU but they remain.

Tried disconnecting battery with engine running and it dies - does this mean the alternator is dead ? Why would that cause the catalyst light

The drive belt is going round fine.

It had a new catalyst and oxygen sensor about 1,000 miles ago when I bought it.

It has actually passed the MOT fine - went through the emissions OK

the car only gets used in the summer for days out, long trips to countryside, and is in storage a lot of the year under a cover so kept dry.

Any ideas ??

has done about 98,000km (= 67,000 miles ??)

Is this going to be an expensive trip to a diagnostics place.....
