I did install my LCD myself (its a flip out one), I put mine in the top din slot then you can see the head unit and LCD at the same time. My LCD just had an AV input on the back, just plugged the PS2 into that and mounted it in the glove box!! |

Now before I get flamed, I realise there are other topics about this but I just can't make my mind up!! I don't want a second battery, just wanna put it in the stock mounting hole, but which one do I get. I know what the difference between them is. Has the yellow top got enough cranking amps to start the car all by itself though? I was gonna go for yellow over red, but I was chattin to a colleague today and he said to go for red if using it as a standalone battery, but I'm sure I've seen peoples cars using just yellow. Wanna get it right first time, these types of batteries are quite rare over in the UK and much more expensive (prob equivelent to over $320 US dollars!!) By the way, I'm running 4 x 10" subs, 3 x amps, 2 x 6x9's and a pair of components (can't be bothered to write up full spec, but roughly combined 750w RMS if that helps!!) Opinions please? Cheers |

Fantastic, it worked!! I'm about a mile out but I can live with that!! Thanks again for the help Doggy. Once I loosened the needle on the petrol gauge it self calibrated, confirmed by me filling my tank from half and it raising itself all the way to the top!! Please get that made as a how too if possible, it's very useful!! |

And stupid country as in London, England, where you have police hiding in trees with mobile speed detectors, just trying to make money and take your licence!! Doggy, thats great, thank you very much for your help, I'll let you know how it went. That should def be a how to. Just wondering, what should I do about my petrol gauge for an accurate reading as its now stuck, should I just fill my tank and put the needle to the top d'ya think? |

I've just added glow gauges to my celi, well pleased with 'em but I've got 2 problems. While I was installing the speedo gauge, I accidently pulled off the entire needle. I've put it back on of course, but now my speedo is reading approx 7 mph faster than what I'm actually going (according to my GPS unit). Also, I drove a fair way last night and my petrol needle hardly moved and now seems stuck. I think I might just have to pull the needle up a a bit, but I'm wondering is it self calibrating, in terms of will it go back to an accurate reading when I sort it out? And what can i do to get the speedo back to an accurate reading (so I don't get caught by one of the 6000 speed cameras in this stupid country!!!) Cheers for your help!!! |

Thats cool, well my setup is as follows: 1 x amp rated 2 x 75w RMS 1 x amp rated 2 x 100w RMS 2 x monoblock amps rated 1 x 400w RMS @ 2 Ohm each (2 subs off of each amp) Its actually the smallest amp thats got 1 of the 40 amp fuses even though its not very powerful?? Do you really think I need to upgrade to 2 gauge based on this?? And also what does upgrading the alt involve, is it costly? Thanks for your help!! |

Right, I’ve got 4 amps, 4 10” subs and 2 powercaps. The intention is to run the amps off of a FUSED distribution block (1 into 4) and another distribution block for the caps (1 into 2) My old setup of 2 amps required a 30amp fuse and 40amp fuse on the block and there was a 70amp fuse on the main 4 gauge cable really close to the battery. My question is that now, aside from these 2 amps, I’ve got a further 2 amps that require a 40amp fuse and a 60amp fuse, this takes the total amps upto 170 and will obviously blow the 70amp fuse in the main cable. I’ve never seen any AGU fuses rated this high and I was wondering, am I being overkill with the fuse in the battery splice (as everything else is individually fused) or should I not be pulling this sort of amperage from one piece of 4 gauge and should I run another piece instead? |

Hi Everyone, Just wondering, what’s directly under the boot floor? Is it just ground, or are there any fuel lines under there? Reason I’m asking is because I want to screw an MDF floor to the boot as a “starter” to my boot build. If it helps I’ve got a UK Spec ’96 ST. Cheers |

Well I dunno if this helps but........... 2 weeks ago I fitted my new stereo, put everything back and everything was good. A couple of days later I tried turning my heater knob and found that it would not budge. Anyway, had the stereo out again the weekend, found that an RCA plug from my old changer control lead had got jammed in the mechanism for the heat control knob, so just make sure everythings clear behind it by taking your stereo out!! |

Cheers guys, I'm so lazy, anyone fancy coming to do it for me Nah, to be fair, I aint too good at this cutting business, the reason I was asking is cos I was worried the glovebox wouldn't shut as I noticed a lot of wires and plastic directly behind the glovebox and it'll just be my luck that it won't shut on me!!! If I could tell you some stories, oh how you'd laugh at the bodge ups............ |

I've seen on several posts people who have fitted gen 5 front indicators to 94-95 bumpers even though they're a bit smaller. I've bought some, but cant seem to screw them into my bumper, anyone care to mention how they done theirs, someone suggested glueing to me but if my bulb goes, what a pain...... |

Cheers!!! Oh yeah, its a '96 ST liftback just to help (with 2 massive dents in the side from driving into a wall last night , but we wont go into that on this post..............) |
