Hi,

On the top of the cam cover on the 7AFE there are 2 pipes that go to/from the plenum chamber. I notice that the smaller pipe on your plenum goes toward the intake pipe and disappears but i'm guessing goes onto the BOV and the larger pipe on your cam cover goes to your oil catch can.

However, I'm wondering what you have connected the smaller pipe from the cam cover too and the larger pipe on the plenum too as I couldn't see them to trace.

I'm looking at Supercharging my 7AFE lump so will be using your thread quite a bit for guidance.

Thanks

Rob

Hi All,

My downpipe has come to the end of its life and needs to be replaced. However I am unsure which downpipe I need to order as there are 2 listed on the internet.

The parts are the Klarius 301969 measuring 950mm for the 6GC 1.8 from 6/96 onwards and the Klarius 301762 measuring 920mm for the 6GC 1.8 up to 6/96 and being sods law mine is right on the change over point so it is unknown which I have.

The easy way to know which I have is to measure the length of the pipe but my problem is I am unsure how the given length is measured, whether it be flange to flange along the pipe length or in a straight line ignoring the pipe curve or how??

I did buy a performance kit from eBay which is a pile of pooh. The face flange for bolting to the block was the wrong way round so it didn't line up and the downpipe came out 6 inches too short.

Any help given is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Rob

Hi All,

I've been trawling through the Intaweb again and came across a Supercharger for the Celica (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Celica-GT-Ogura-Super-Charger-Model-TX12-/261091909669?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cca4a6025#ht_500wt_1288) but I'm not sure if this is doable on the 7AFE lump.

Does anyone know if it is compatible or if it fits?

Has anyone supercharged before?

Is it easy to install and set up?

What can I expect to get out of my Celi if I supercharge it?

Many thanks

Rob

Hi All,

I have a set of the foam squab shapes that go in the back of the Celica 5&6 gen. I bought them with the intention of fitting them on to my AT200 Celica and putting my covers on them as my squabs were a bit battered and sagging but I managed to pick up a set of leather rear seats instead.

So basically I am offering the 2 folding rear seat back rests and the lower part to go to anyone interested.

I am about 10 minutes from Gatwick Airport in Horsham. Buyer collects please.

Please send me a message or reply to this thread if you are interested. I just want them out the way as they are now sat in the shed preventing the old man from getting the mower out.

If I have had no interest in these they will be going to the local rubbish dump (which it seams a shame to do) on Sunday 30th September 2012.

£10 ono.

Many thanks

Rob

OK. I wasn't doubting you I did have to look twice too. I think it's because of the pipe running past it. Someone else has bought it anyway so I'm going to look into doing something else a bit more custom with my car.

ST182...thats Gen5??

The listing lists it as an ST202 and the car underneath looks relatively similar to my AT200. I did email the guy and ask him about the car it has come off of and apparantly its a Gen6. He described the car as a Gen6 Celica with a Quad Lights on the front... the Gen5 had pop up IIRC???

Anyway if it is an ST202 you are saying that at worse it could be 2-3 inches short of marrying up to the cat.

I have a 1996 Celica ST (7AFE AT200 1.8 T20) but the problem I have is finding an exhaust system in the UK that fits it. I have found a tubular manifold on ebay on a 4-2-1 layout with the O2 sensor flange but my issue is finding a cat back system.

Looking through the forums people say that the ST202 system fits but say that it is about 2-3 inches short.

I have found this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150777163660?ssP...984.m1436.l2649 but it's for the ST205. I can't find anything else really.

My plans for the exhaust atm are:
tubular 4-2-1 manifold/headers
sports cat back with a 4"-5" tail pipe
swap in/out decat pipe so that I can put it in for MOT and then remove it again after MOT
possibly (depending on noise level and note) remove front silencer and make straight through to muffler(s)

Iam likely to look into doing a 7AFTE conversion in a couple of years time or maybe swap in a 3SGTE lump.

I've also found this system on eBay for an ST202 but I want to know if it will fit before I bid/buy.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261090363414?ssP...9#ht_500wt_1288

I need to change my exhaust system before MOT as I have a few holes in it but don't see the point in standard replacement if I'm going to performance exhaust it.

Many thanks in advance

Rob

Well, since I have been trying to get a video of it it refuses to do it now.

So I'm gonna live with it for now... the MOT is due soon so I will wait and see if they say anything on the MOT and if they do I will deal with it then if not I will live with it until I decide to drop the ride height and sort out a few other things.

Greeting 6GC members.

I currently live in Horsham, West Sussex, UK. I was wondering if there is anyone else out and about around the South/South-East of England that fancies clubbing together to arrange a meet in the near future if there is not anything arranged already.

Look forward to hearing back soon.

The bounces are very aggressive. It only does it under normal launches. The car has reasonably new Bridgestone Turanza tyres all round on it.

Another one of my friends has had a look at the car today and he thinks that the issue is the rear left strut causing the car to "squat" one way meaning the front right wheel is not sat with the full car weight on it meaning it is slipping and causing the bounce. He jacked the car up and there is signs of excessive wear on the strut and the spring needs replacing too as it isn't coiling properly.

I don't see the point in spunking £300 on a set of standard rear struts and springs. I'm looking at dropping the car down soon anyway but I want to know what lowering strut and spring options I have on my car. I've looked on FenSport and there doesn't seem a lot for the 1.8 AT200. There is a lot for the ST202 and ST205 but are these compatible with my car at all or do I need a specific kit? Any guidance to what kit is much appreciated and a UK Based sales centre would be preferred as if I buy for USA or Japan etc. I will have to pay an "import tax".

The car is bouncing on the front end and I would say it is pretty much what Syaoran has described as being "Wheel Hop".

The reason I said about the engine is because rave2n said about his clutch slipping off the flywheel.

yellowchinaman: with respect of your comment about "cornering and taking off means the car slings like a boat and bounces then its the shocks" it doesn't sling about like a boat.

I will try to get an onboard video today of it doing what it does so that people can hopefully help me with this.

It drives normally and coasts smoothly.

I don't get any clutch slipping when I pull off so I'd tend to look away from a clutch fault especially as if I rev up and dump the clutch it is fine, it picks it's wheels up, smokes the street out (whoops) and takes off like a scalded cat with a rocket up its ar*e and it doesn't bounce around.

It only does it when I go to pull off normally. This is what is so weird about it. If it was because of a racing start then I'd know that it's tyre shake but to do it under normal (SANE) driving conditions is really odd.

Anyway I have been trawling round the motor factors in Sussex and no where can get them, everyone is saying "gonna be Toyota direct for that mate" so off I pop down the local Toyota Showroom, and get given a price of between £60 and £215+VAT depending which one is gone or the whole lot is nigh on £600 inc VAT. So if anyone knows of anywhere in the UK where I can get mounts from that aren't a main dealer it would be greatly appreciated.

I also noticed earlier that I have a slight camber imbalance going on (although this may be to do with the surface it was parked on) - (the vertical alignment of one wheel is near enough vertical and the other leans in towards the top of the wheel. It's not huge but could that be the cause of it.

Many thanks in advance again

The car is bog standard with the exception to HID upgrade, cone filter induction kit, head-unit and upgraded standard mount speakers. No cheep-crappy eBay coil-overs here.

I have done the bounce test for the shocks but that came back as normal. So it looks like it may be engine mount(s) creating wheel hop. How can I check the engine mounts to see which ones are gone (if not all of them) and does anyone know what they are likely to cost and the best place to get them from?
Does anyone know if there are polyeurethane engine mounts for the 6G Celica 1.8 AT200 similar to those that powerflex do and if so is it worth the upgrade (pros and cons of the upgrade if possible)

Many thanks.

Hi All,

Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated.

Recently, when I pull off from a stand still my car has started bouncing on the front end. It's quite a hard bounce that knocks and bangs and rattles everything in the car.

I have no idea what is causing this but a friend and I done the usual bounce the car by pushing the wings test and everything appears to be evenly matched left to right.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what the cause could be?

If needs be I will try to get a video of it happening but it will be from inside the car with my iPhone mounted on the screen mount.

Many thanks in advance

Rob
