booya! u can thank me for getting him to post! i IMd him and told him too!

Much obliged.

No way I'm living in FL. My bro lives in Miami thats enuf for me. My hearts in Hawaii, I'd sell my right nut to live there.

LOL, yeah Hawaii would be nice. Have heard a few claustrophbic claims from people who've attempted to live there, but if you stick it out past the first couple of months supposedly it passes.

You trying to get some surf in?

If you like dirt, rocks, nongreen plant life, and not going out in the summer...then Arizona is the place for you.

I lived there for 12 years and the only thing positive I'll ever claim about AZ is its people. The people are really nice. You head down to Tempe on a Saturday night with the ASU crowd, say "Hi" to anyone on the street, and 90% of the time someone will hit ya with a friendly "Hi" right back. So thats always good...but I don't think it balances out the all the negatives I eventually got tired of.

I like green trees, completely shaded roads from overhanging trees, 78deg constant weather, the beach, entertainment, and being able to surf one day and snowboard the next. So I've always known I was going to move back to So Cal.

Actually I'm headed back to AZ this weekend. One of the few good things that AZs environment provides is a lot of good hiking and rock climbing. Gonna be rock climbing the Supersition west peak before it gets too hot. Doing this run in 110+deg weather is not an option.

Not many other places you can find a run like that. Only takes ~4hrs.

I always thought a 5s boosted at 5-7psi with a high quality EMS, ignition upgrades and professional tuning would be fairly dependable (engine wise).

I know I've seen postings of 5sfte going past 80k. Anyone else heard of 5sfte lasting longer?

under 8 psi with an EMS, and you'll have a happy and dependable 6gc.

The site is very well put together, and theres always a handfull of informative peeps willing to help out those in need.

Plus, I've talked to a lot of people that know him personally and have nothing but good things to say about him.

I don't remember many bad roads in socal when I lived there a couple years back.

But congrats on the new purchase. Looks like a lot of potential, and you have like zero miles on her too. Look forward to the mods.

A lot of pot holes in the freeways (I-5 and I-10, my regulars).

Even with a perfect angle, most driveways will grab the body kit.

Have to slow down to 25-30mph to go over railroad crossings.

etc, etc.

I babied her to the last day...and can't imagine what would have happened if I was an agressive/careless driver.

QUOTE(BlackCelicaGT94 @ Dec 21, 2005 - 4:33 PM)

well im happy i got to drive it before you sold it! im sure whatev you do to the car will be hot! :-)

LOL...how can I forget grinding my teeth when you slammed it into reverse? I guess you weren't TOO bad with her...at least you knew what you were doing. I'm just very sensitive when it comes to my babby smile.gif Can ya blame me?

That's an odd financial decision you made there, especialy considering how sexy your old celica was... more debt, less sexy car?... why not just refinance your other celica or take out a signature loan?

As I said, it began to get pretty nerve racking driving that thing in So Cal.

The more I think about it, the more I'm glad I did it.

Well, I sold my '96 and got a '99. I needed money pretty bad, but didn't wanna lose the sexyness of a 6gc.

My new red celi is an auto and has sunroof, leather interior, 54k miles, wheels, exhaust, etc. Shes not nearly as sexy as my old 96, but my plans are: ditch the spoiler, rear body piece, customize the front bumper (don't wanna go ground kit because the CA roads are hell), 1" lower (again...CA roads), shave door handles/rear washer/antenna, Mold bodykit pieces, paint Red/Silver/Gray, projectors....and years down the road, when I get more money....3SGTE w/ Tranny conversion (of course).

I'm definitely gonna miss all the head turns with my silver beauty, but I did what I had to do. Glad to still have something thats kind to the eyes, and glad to still participate in this community.

I told the new owner of my car about this site, but not sure if he'll make his way over here.

Anywho...yeah....

Well, I'm working the night shift at Activision, so I usually don't hit any traffic. Still a 40mi trip each way...but no traffic.

When I was on days, it took about 2hrs each way. Going from Anaheim to Santa Monica, right through the heart of LA traffic. lol, definitly sucked.

Well...now that I'm drivin 80mi a day to and from work in Southern Cali, I'm thinkin more and more about getting a hybrid. Just curious if anyone here would pick it up for $7,000.

She recently had an engine swap to a NA 78k mile engine (now up to 81k). Its still NA and running strong. The $7k price DOES include all the turbo parts that were removed before the swap. You can check my profile out for details.

PM or reply with any questions you might have. Been pretty busy lately, but will try my best to get back asap.

Definitely the 3rd gear synchro.

http://www.pennzoil.com/products/gear_oil/syncro_fluid.html
Has helped a lot of people and saved getting a new tranny.

If it has low miles...a tranny shop could repair the 3rd gear syncro for ya.

If it has high miles...just get a new one.

Jelousy? Sure. But all jelously spawn from the talent of mike dotson, it's creature.

Yeah he pointed out a good body kit, to have installed at the shop.

And Pann Auto DID do an excellent job on the turbo setup as well.

I have much respect for mike as well. Hes has very good taste with 6gc customization and is a pretty cool guy.
