Awesome cake. I feel your pain though. I turned 30 this year as well...funny since the church youth all thought I was 24.

Honestly, I would rather someone come pick them up. If no one does in a week or so then I will definitely consider shipping them.

For anyone in Alabama, I'm in cullman.

(Sorry for me late reply! It has been one long weekend!)

I have the side skirts that have just sat in storage for quite a few years. They were given to me free so I will do the same.

I don't have a current pic available right now but I found a post about them I wrote years ago:
http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...p;hl=side+skirt

Located in Alabama so just send me an email, pm or post about it if you want them.

My favorite compliment of all: "Is that a Supra?" LOL

I have been pulled over by a cop and all he wanted was to ask me that!

For the past few months I have been trying to take better care of myself by doing some basic "at home" exercises and have swapped out some of my junk foods with bananas/apples/red grapes/salads/ and v8 fusion.

The the holiday chocolate came and I broke my hand so it kinda dropped kindasad.gif

Now that I'm out of the cast and most of the sweets are gone I'm getting started again.

I'm not trying to lose weight (i'm close to being underweight actually) and NO this isn't a new year resolution. It's something I decided to do and started months ago and worked on until my hand broke.

I just didn't know if there were any nutritionist on here that could give some advice?

I'm trying to eliminate junk food and away from processed foods but I love my pringles! I guess I pretty much know whats good for the heart and overall diet stuff but just didn't know what there is specific for organs in the body. Been google searching too.

Just wondering if any nutritionist were here... rolleyes.gif

I am trying to learn how to play the guitar but i can afford lessons ,so i am just following free internet based guides !

and you guys and girls ?

That's pretty much what I did. Just learn some chords, pick out big bands songs that you like and find the tab for it. oh, and scales. Go crazy on scales!

Buriens definition of reliable is a very loose term imo. Do you know anyone using their kit still?

Did some on here have it? I never knew...

QUOTE(Kerr1 @ Dec 26, 2007 - 2:45 AM)

no i was just reading abt. it.....im new to the whole turbo deal and want my motor to last at least 30-40,000 miles by then ill b able to buy a new one... i was just thinkin that since a stock motor is "supposed" to handle 7lbs...i asumed w/ the few minor parts that r supposed to make ur motor a lot stronger i could run 10lbs fairly reliable......the kit is not going on my car until i have all the parts to tune it the right way...

Again, 7lbs is different across turbos, and a motor isn't "supposed" to handle boost. Some do, some don't, even if they are the same type motor.

so in you guys experience what is better or more fun to use when it comes to turbo? It can be from any standpoint relible, less work to keep running, better performance, availibility, wich one blows easier? Feel free to just add your .02 cents personal experiences and even time slips.

(if a thread like this already exists disregard this one)

Lagos answered it best. Impossible to say. (and timeslips wouldn't matter)

Some will say the 3s, others the 5s. It's all a matter of opinion.

Reliability is what parts you use and how well you stay on top of it. A 3s will blow the same as a 5s.

You wanted comments well here you go:

Good biggrin.gif
-like the ss-iii badge on the gt4 front bumper
-the "bhp 666" tag is a nice touch
-very clean all around ( a plus in my eyes)
-love the dash consol
-the trd support written all over

All around very nice thumbsup.gif

Now the bad kindasad.gif
-I think I told you this before (not sure) but not a fan of the intercooler pipe running over the turbo and exhaust manifold. Looks good for show but I would recomend a custom heat shield.

-Since you have a custom dash piece for the upper part of the center consol, I suggest one for the bottom half and hide the wire coming off your boost controller. (your profile says the interior is stripped so I guess and exposed wire isn't that big of a deal rolleyes.gif )

Again, the car is hot as is, these are just constructive comments tongue.gif

Very nice pics!

QUOTE(playr158 @ Dec 20, 2007 - 4:32 PM)

you can boost a high CR motor (New celicas for that matter as well)

high compression helps with off boost driveability, as well as you make the "same" amount of power as a lower CR motor with a lower boost level on a high CR motor
Its all in the ability to tune your timing and fuel.

In my build i'll actually be raising the CR of the 3sgte to ~9.5:1 almost.

Don't forget a water/meth or alchohol injection for added cooling protection...

QUOTE(azian_advanced @ Dec 20, 2007 - 11:05 PM)

well, i remember reading about it at some point a couple of years ago..

ok i found two. but the one i had in mind is not one of these two, i can't find it.

anyway.....

1.

HKS SS-III Celica Turbo
IPB Image

Uh, not seeing the vvt-i control on the exposed cam gears so I would say this either is not the beams motor or the vvti was removed.

IMO, turbo the beams, run a high octane, and get some sort of water/meth injection. Going through the hassel to swap heads wouldn't be worth it.

Now if you were to place the head on the 5s block and make it a stroker motor then that would be fun.

girls around here think my car looks good and my wife hates how they try to flirt with me.

It's funny though when some guy talks crap about my car. I like the "kill with kindness aproach" so I tend to not retaliate in anger. I just ask "is that your car behind you?" and when they say yeah I just smile and walk away (or drive). Man does that tick them off tongue.gif

You need to remember that 7psi on the burien kits turbo isn't the same 7psi as the t3.

You need to give us a little more info on your set up. Do you at least have an intercooler? Boost controler? More info is helpfull for us so we can help you.

could you not purchase a JDM GT4, get it chopped in half, but all parts kept, make it seem like you are purchasing the front clip and the rear clip, have it shipped here and then just put it back together again?? Would that not be the simplest way or is there too much law ****e involved?

i don't mind it.. in fact, i love to drive my car in the winter.. so much fun and comfortable. besides, i might go insane if i ever have to stop driving my celi.

x2

Winter isn't much of a major problem here but if the weather man mentions the word snow... then I hope you don't need bread or milk! People go nuts around here.

hahahahahaha.... now thats funny. gas mileage on a celica is better than the 72 chevy i drove of my parents for 6 months while my celica was being worked on. i would get 6 mpg if i was easy on the throttle

Ha! I once almost bought a 74 camero that had a 409 big block. Drove it 2 miles and drained a quarter of the tank!!!!!!!

So what have we learned? Swaps are an investment. DON'T CHEAP OUT! Less problems down the road...
