Found out from the dealer today that the “nasally” engine whine was simply that the timing belt was too tight from when it was replaced. A possibility I never thought to consider. |

Driver’s side tan/ivory sunvisor from 98/99 7. Driver/passenger side interior door cards/panels with tan/ivory leather inserts 8. Hello everyone. I am trying to figure out what the cause of an engine whine I am hearing may be from. I have a 98 with 152k and a 99 with 27k. The 99 is quiet and sounds perfect whereas my 98 has a muffled, nasally whine to it at all times. More noticeable from engine itself (not accessories) when increasing throttle from the engine. Noise happens both in and out of gear, moving or stationary. When listening to the motor with the hood propped, it sounds like it’s coming from the engine itself. Using the throttle cable to rev the motor a bit only emphasizes the noise as it increases as engine rpm’s increase. Essentially, the noise is the full time noise of the motor whenever it is running. The car had a massive rear main leak when I bought it. I’m sure the engine was ran with low oil as they had to constantly top it off before driving. All leaks have been repaired and all fluids have been replaced. Any ideas? Thank you. |

Hello, Does anyone have a rust free 96-99 Celica GT with Sport package front left lower control arm? Apparently Toyota had two different types. I previously purchased one used somewhere else and it was not correct for my car due to the bushing size being different on certain models. Looking for another. I am also needing the two rearmost exhaust heat shields. Any rust free heat shields available? Thank you! |

Hello, I purchased a set of Stagg front and rear struts/shocks for my 98 Celica only to be told by my dealer that the front shocks are wrong for the car and that the cartridge can not simply be exchanged as the oem units are welded together. When looking at various 6th gen years and trim levels, they all show the same slim front shock, part: 663299. Our Celicas need the round donut (strut assembly) in the middle for the spring to sit on. Have any of you come across the same issue and found out which is the correct part number for Stagg front shocks/struts on a 94-99 Celica GT that is not simply just the cartridge, but is the whole assembly? I want the original “sport” suspension ride and handling and feel as if all of the other aftermarket brands out there only sell the non-sport equivalent. Thank you! |

I am looking for the passenger side dash air vent. Mine won’t stay in place as the plastic clip is broke, so the vent falls towards the floor and won’t stay up. If you can pull the vent assembly out without breaking anything, I will buy it. Thanks |
They are exactly the same as the Celica metal sills, but they say "Curren" on them. I could be wrong though. I have a set of the Celica metal door sills if you want me to go take a look at what's stamped underneath them.
If they are on your car, then please don't go to the extra trouble. However, if you have them off and easily accessible that would be great! |

Hi everyone, I am wanting to locate the branded Celica, metal door sill plates. There are four part numbers listed, two that are for the branded sill plates and two that are some other type of sill plate. I am a bit uncertain as to what the differences are, or whether or not I even need all four pieces. Is there a reason to purchase the black plastic sill plates? Is it a situation where if you buy one pair, the other is needed? Also, one post in this thread made it seem as if the metal branded sill plates are the exact same , regardless of which side. If thats the case, then, there should only be one part number, not two as shown at the beginning of the thread. Any clue as to which is correct? Here is what I am referring to, listed in this thread: branded plate part numbers: 67917-20220 or 67918-20180 CONFIRMED (I asked price from Toyota dealer) price: $210 sill trim part numbers: RH: 67913-20230-C0 LH: 67914-20190-C0 CONFIRMED (I asked price from Toyota dealer) price: $190 Thank you in advance, |

Great to hear! Ill check those recommendations out as well. On another note, I actually had one dealer tell me that they too were not suppose to order JDM parts, however, they were able to get around it somehow. Due to slow communications, I ended up purchasing from another anyways. I wish Toyota would support the preservation and restoration of their older models, especially those most commonly collected or desired years down the road. Mazda, Land Rover, Jaguar and Ferrari all offer some sort of program/support in this regard. I have an old Celica Supra that I have been collecting parts for the past ten years in order to fully restore it (hopefully in the next 1-2 yrs). I lucked out and was able to source most of the factory new, oem parts back in 07/08, but now its impossible to get nearly anything other than a random gasket here or a bolt there. Its depressing really. Neat thing about Land Rover is that they will actually make you what you need if its not still stocked. You have to wait longer, but at least they will provide parts necessary. There are so many great Toyotas in years past that it would seem desirable for them to show interest in allowing customers to preserve and maintain such vehicles. |

Thanks for the replies guys! I will check out the sights you both listed. I always prefer to buy new, but I am finding several parts have been discontinued already. I like to have a backup for everything I think I may potentially need. I have placed orders with Camelback Toyota and through Amayama recently with some success. |

Hi everyone, It has been several years since I have been around this forum, but I'm looking to get back in. I am wanting to get my new, OEM JDM Toyota Celica parts stash built up as I intend to source a JDM Celica SS-iii and GT-Four to keep at a home outside of the US, and then bring in once the 25 year mark hits. It appears as if my previous sources for JDM Toyota parts no longer sell online. Are there any great, US based Toyota dealers whom are happy to source rare, Japanese market Toyota parts? Are there any online that still have functioning JDM parts catalogs with diagrams to ensure the correct part is being ordered? Now that so many of the old photos in numerous posts have been removed, its hard to get any confirmation through info. that was previously uploaded to 6gc.net. There are excellent threads with JDM parts on this site, hopefully we can get those pictures back! Thanks in advance for any guidance. |
