I added some updated photos on my profile--working on getting higher res (my camera friggin died right after I posted the photos to craigslist).

Oh yeah---it is smogged, oil changed, and running--perfectly ready to transition to new owner. Just need the cash, then I give the title =D.

Fair $2,890

I would rate the car "Fair" according to Kelley Blue Book.

Fair
$2,890
• Some mechanical or cosmetic defects and needs servicing but is still in reasonable running condition.
• Clean title history, the paint, body and/or interior need work performed by a professional.
• Tires may need to be replaced.
• There may be some repairable rust damage.

Here's the Scoop:

I am the third owner of the vehicle. I have owned the car since about 2004, bought it at around 125k miles, and the mileage currently is approximately 183500. The timing belt was changed just before I bought it, around 120k miles, and I have since replaced the transmission (around 155k miles)--the transmission is only two years old. I need to sell the vehicle, a project car, because I just don't have the time to work on it. THE CAR DOES RUN--mechanically, for what I am selling the car for, you will find fewer better deals. The car's engine is a 7afe, the same engine Toyota uses in the Corollas--you are very likely to be able to get another 50k miles out of the car without any major mechanical repairs.

I currently use this vehicle to drive to and from work on a daily basis. The car, mechanically sound, runs fine.

I am purchasing a new vehicle, and I need to sell this vehicle in order to pay the tax (plus the girlfriend won't let me keep it wink.gif). This is a good deal for anyone on a tight budget needing wheels, though there are cosmetic things that will need to be done to fix vehicle. I sell the vehicle AS IS--I will give you full disclosure of things I know that will need repair IF you deem it pertinent--otherwise, the car drives fine.

Things that need repair:

-Rear defroster (was taken off with the tint years ago--not that big of a deal, nothing turning the heat on can't fix).
-Seats are worn (aftermarket seats, could easily be replaced for cheap, otherwise, seat covers)
-Gas cover latch (I have some of the parts, but you will likely need to find some more of them--this is a very cheap fix)
-Front left speaker needs to be replaced (went out a few months ago, haven't had time to install a new pair of speakers)
-Trunk lid needs to have spoiler holes plugged, or, reattach spoiler.
-Door handles need to be painted (primer black right now--could be replaced if you don’t want to paint them)
-Passenger side door lock needs to be rekeyed (I had to replace the door when a truck dented the passenger side coming out of a parking lot--the autobody repair shop was stupid and I didn't discover until years later that they never took out the lock from the original door)
-All electronics, to my knowledge, work (doors, windows, locks, moon roof)
-Was in the process of doing a body kit--much of the repair issues are related to the autobody technician who messed things up. The car was painted within the last two and half years, but the body kit has not been painted or put on. If you want the rest of the body kit, you are more than welcome to take it, clean it up, paint it, and put it on.
-Some rubber trim here and there will need replacing.
-Rear brake pads will probably need to be replaced in the next few months, fronts should be alright for a while (replaced about two years ago)
-Hood has a loose bolt or plate on right mounting bracket--probably will need to be replaced

Some benefits to the car:

-Great price for a running car, despite the things that need repair
-3 of the tires are brand new, replaced only in December of 08 (the 4th still has plenty tread)--spent around $300 on tires alone. Les Schwab wheels and tires, under warranty.
-aftermarket chrome wheels (Les Schwab--paid $1,000 three years ago)

I am asking $1,800. I still need to get the car smogged in order to transfer title, but it passed with flying colors not a year and a half ago, so I am sure things will be fine. I want serious inquiries only. Looking to get rid of the vehicle as soon as possible. I live in North East Santa Rosa. I haven't had time to take pictures yet, but if you live local, I can show the car later in the week, otherwise, e-mail me and I will send pictures as soon as possible. If your a wrenchhead, or someone looking for a cheap good ride that's worth what you're paying for, this is it!

Thank you for considering purchasing my vehicle!

Also, I live in Santa Rosa, CA and will NOT deliver the vehicle. You must pick the vehicle up. I am only willing to meet as far north as Healdsburg, or as far south as Petaluma. Thank you for your consideration.

Dear fellow Celica Owners,

I have to get my vehicle smogged by September 8th and registered. The last time I had my vehicle smogged it failed because I have an air intake that is not "DOT" approved. After failing, I took it to another shop and showed them why I failed. I had it retested and they passed me; thing is, they never replaced the air intake or anything; paid my money and passed.

Now my vehicle is up for SMOG again but California law is that apparently you cannot go to the same SMOG shop twice. It is likely that my car will be failed for the same reason as before unless either I find a shop that is willing to pass me (my actual vehicle emissions are fine) or I just put the stock intake on. Problem with the stock intake is that it is no longer in my posession.

I need some advice from anyone that is willing to help. I live in Santa Rosa, CA (just north of San Francisco), so if anyone knows of a shop that won't give me trouble all the better.

Thanks guys and gals!

I have a 95 Celica ST that got sheisted in a deal when having body work done by an aqauaintance. Lots of damage done. Rather than replace the parts, I would rather by another 6th gen celica hatchback preferably a gt and just part out or sell the one I got. Anyone looking to sell in the near feature gimme an email, I dont get much time these days to check this forum between both jobs and school.

I am now parting out some more stuff.

The stock spoiler for a Coupe model (color is black) and this spoiler does feature a built in brake light (not sure if any coupes had spoilers without a brake light) and I am also selling a pair of power mirrors (black) as well.

To refer back on what Flipside mentioned, I think the Ding Doctors at dealerships are the best way to go if you dont plan on filling the dent and repainting.

A friend of the family has a 2003 or 2004 BMW Z3 and he got a baseball size dent in the passenger door from someone pushing up against it or something.

Anyways, he took it to a dealership when the Ding Doctor was there and only paid fifty bucks to have the dent taken out, when a shop had quoted about 700 to fix it.

Unless you know what youre doing autobody wise, or youre willing to learn on your baby, I would suggest taking it to a professional that knows what they are doing.

As I am in the process of painting and putting on my kit, I have a bodyshop friend of mine helping me quite a bit. Apparently, the best thing to use is a special kind of autobody epoxy. Holds better than tape and holds it tighter to the car so in the end, better looking. Not sure of the price compared to the tape.

I am selling my stock leather seats from a 95 st coupe because I have some aftermarket seats now and these are just sitting in my shed.

I am in dire need of some extra funds to finish my paint job on my car so my asking price is $200 OBO plus shipping unless youre close enough to pick them up.

The seats are in pretty great condition except for a few minor spots. All damage is on the pics provided and the one "discoloration" spot is from the previous owner probably trying to do a patch job. There are a couple teeny cuts (2 I believe and both are pictured) as well as the stitching needing some work on the driver side. There are also 2 white scuffs about 8 inches below that that could be buffed out. The damage to both seats is very minor and can be fixed very cheap. Also, not included with the seats are the seat belt bucklers. I had to mount these to my aftermarket seats, you can however take off the existing ones on your stock seat and transfer them over.

Let me know if youre interested...

Cant really say about legality. The DOT approved thing sounds right. I live in Cali though, so basically EVERYTHING is illegal.

This seat harness is QUALITY though, you can tell when you take a look at it.

Not sure where you can get another one...I cant find them on ebay anymore but they pop up occasionally.

I have a bid from SoundSlut_dotcom for $50 shipped...Will let you other fellows in line know whether it goes through or not.

As someone who has absolutely no support from his parents financially, and having to make it on your own, it can be very hard.

I went to college for my first semester last fall and worked two jobs (about 60 hours a week) and had 15 units.

IT SUCKS!

Not to mention the 5k I spent in one semester taught me absolutely nothing.

Ive decided that college isnt necessary or required for everyone, though I think I want to teach theater in highschool or work for Lucasfilm (I live in bay area) and I know a lot of the local schools have programs that can get you a job working for Lucas because he is very pro-community.

I guess I just hate myself sometimes because most kids got it sooo easy, they go to school, dont have to work, and parents pay for EVERYTHING, and here I am struggling to make it on my own and it seems like I am getting nothing out of it.

I agree very much so with what you said Nik, life isnt fair, but it its up to you to decide how you feel about it and what you do to make yourself enjoy what there is in life.

Hey all,

I got a racing harness I purchased months back with my aftermarket seats off ebay.

I think I paid like $80 after shipping for this. It has never been used. I just dont wont to put it on because I live in Cali and the cops are @$$#0l3$.

Looking for a reasonable offer...

I have the two front seats I would be willing to part with as they are just sitting in my shed...The rear though I am keeping.

The condition of the seats is fair - Pretty good condition but the usual wear and tear - except for on the driver side the stitching is pulling a part on one little spot. I can send pics if you like. Email or PM if youre interested, as I have been pretty busy working lately and dont always get on the forums now.

the hood dragon is completely out of place

Agreed.

I give you MAD props for doing your car yourself. I am doing my own too, I have spent nearly TWO MONTHS sanding and working on everything and I am almost there.

The hood dragon would look a lot better IMO if it were black. The green and mix of colors on the dragon doesnt blend well with the black and red of the car.

AGAIN THOUGH, MAD PROPS!

I used a DA to strip it, and the scratches werent deep at all, just from rubbing on metal the sand paper sort of darkened it.

As for the color, it doesnt look black in the pics because of the lighting and I took the pics during the day and the roof is a semi transparent green color :S.

The surface might look weird and uneven to you blakout because there is orange peel in the paint so its not very shiny right now.

Because of it being a makeshift booth, it made the car prone to orange peel and other unwanted matter.

That is why I am polishing it, it gets out orange peel and stuff that settles in the paint after you spray.

So far between cost of tools and material it is about $1500. About $2000 LESS than the CHEAPEST quote from an autobody shop.

The body is straight, its just the reflection of the flash in the paint and the stuff in the background.
