that works too.. and this should help you identify which wire is which on the plug.

Kinda hard to read. If anyone knows i just need the color of the wires for the input and output of the left and right speakers that are in the plug.

I was thinking more on splicing the input and output cables that are in the plug that goes into the amp under the driver seat.

Topped off the coolant (ALMOST A WHOLE GALON) and did that process to take out the air. Though much air did not come out as i didnt have to add a lot of coolant once i turned on the heater.

Seems to have solved the problem. I guess i must have a leak somewhere since i knew i topped it off when i purchased the car about a month and a half ago.

One thing i did notice. The fan next to the battery turned on as soon as i turned on the ignition and stayed on the whole time. While the other fan never turned on. When is that fan suppose to turn on?

Thanks guys. I guess i will check everything step by step.

First i will check if the coolant level is where it should be then i will most likely try to burp all the air out. I read somewhere this is done by warming up the car with the cap off and then turning the heater on?

If not, then good thing the thermostat, sensors, and radiator cap are fairly cheap. Where is the thermostat located in our cars anyway? I have the 2.2 5sfe by the way.

Yes this was done while i was parked and revving the engine. Yes it stays at normal operating temp while cruising. Have not really paid attention to the fans. When are they suppose to turn on?

I just hope its not the water pump.

Not really sure what this can be. No signs of a leak.

I have 2 videos. Quality is just plain bad but it shows what i need to show.

One shows when it warms up. It is under C and then in a couple of seconds it goes up to norm operating temp.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nq9B5FR-VGg

Second one shows when its at norm operating temp and then goes up slowly. Only seems to heat up at idle. As soon as the temperature goes up i accelerate and then the temperature suddenly goes back to normal.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paE0S3BwTlg

Not sure if this might be a sensor problem. I have never really encountered this kind of problem where the temperature would change so fast.

Any ideas what it can be?

^The preamp inside your new HU is most likely more powerful than the stock one, but it is not powerful enough nor is it set up to handle the extra speakers. Thus the reason JBL designed for those lower speakers to be powered by a separate amp.

If you don't want to use the factory amps, then your best option is to just get a decent low power aftermarket amp to power those lower door speakers. Like the JBL GT5-A402 2-channel amp.

Actually, i wanted to avoid the use of any amp all together. Didnt want to go through the hassle of running wires through out the car.

Yes, you can splice into the 8" speakers in the kick panels. I'll get you a picture this afternoon.

Ill be looking out for this.

I'm 99% sure that if you use an aftermarket head unit with the 8" speaker system, you either have to use the integration kit that bypasses the built-in preamp in your new headunit and thusly utilizes the factory amps, or you have to get an aftermarket amp to power the lower speakers.

Integration wiring harness:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/PREMIUM-SOUND-SYST...5c8&vxp=mtr

You do however need an aftermarket headunit with at least 2 sets of preamp outputs and these harnesses usually don't have a ground connection so you'll have to physically ground your headunit from the ground wire coming off of the headunit to the chassis.

I had the option to do that. I had both harnesses in hand before the installation but decided to go the other way since i assume the preamp in most headunits now and days are better off the the oem amps that came these cars?

So say everything is wired properly behind the hu and the only thing making the front speakers not work is the amp. Is there any way splice and connect the input and output wires in the connection that goes into the amp? This way it bypasses this amp and just runs straight off the new hu.

Figuered id post here instead of making another thread.

I also have the 8 speaker system. Swapped out my oem head unit for a new one and all my speakers work except for the bottom 2.

I used a wiring harness that included 2 plugs and installed them into the 2 blue plugs that where in the bottom of the amp that is under the hvac.

Not sure if it matters but i also disconnected the 3 plugs that where connected into that same amp. Those 3 plugs are the plugs ontop of the the 2 blue plugs i used with the harness.

Not sure if i did anything wrong or am i missing something here?

try a throttle body cleaner, should help. if not then get a throtle cable..

That also lubricates that part of the throttle body that the cable pulls? I thought it was just to clean the inside of the throttle body.

Looking for the following items:

1. OEM or aftermarket intake.

2. Center console/armrest/cup holder

3. Accelerator/Throttle cable. Must be in good condition. I think mine is stuck. Either that or throttle body is bad.
