axle speed doesn't determine speed, it's calculated with the tire diameter. the combination of the gear pitch will have the final say if it's accurate or not... Look like i'll have to stick with a MTM setup just to keep it consistant |

Thats where im not to sure on anymore, the gearing code is different. Speed sensor markings ST204 ATM N=23, Mark 23:27 ST204 MTM N=21, Mark 25:21 Differential speed gear marking ST204 ATM N=25 ST204 MTM N=27 Sure you can drop it in but the reading will not be correct |

Hello, new to the board but no stranger to toyotas in general. I do have a 6g celica but i gave it to my dad as a DD, my real car the 3.3L 2nd gen MR2 Anyway skipping the quick intro, i need to find out if there is a difference between the ATM and MT speed sending unit. I know part numbers are different but is there any physical difference on the housing/body? Reason i ask is im trying to install a speed sensor into a gear box which never had one and the design of the S5 gearbox is similar in shape to the closed socket hole in this new transmission project. |
