Are you looking for a clean running one? My brother has (6gc) one that's been sitting for a few years and he has a spare 5SFE from a MR2 to put in still. I would prefer a running clean Celica. What happened to the engine? Still in the Celica I'm assuming? What year MR2 did the 5SFE engine come out of? |

I am looking for a 6th gen to buy in Minnesota or not too far away from the Twincities. Don't really care if it's a GT or ST but must be a manual. Liftback or coupe. No convertibles. Seems like all I can find for sale are the convertibles. 3rd gen or 6th gen is basically what I'm looking for. |

Cams it is. If no other issues arises. holy crap .040" is alot! to the OP, there really isnt much you can do with the 5S. yes a set of cams will be nice but they are expensive. get a metal head gasket from a 98 camry and call it a day. if you have a ton of miles, i suggest pulling the engine, replace the rings and bearings, hone the cylinders. basically a complete refresh. if you have a pre ODBII turn the distributor up to about 15 degrees and use mid grade gas. thats a good step up. I've read that about the 98+ Camry gasket. It looks slightly different though. Should work with no problems on a '94 5s? '96+ looked the same as the 09+ Camry's when I looked up those parts but the '94 & '95 is a tad different. |

My 94 Celica GT (5sfe) has a blown head gasket. So I figured I might as well do a mild build. I'm not looking for big power. Just a little more. I don't have a goal in mind or any future plans of big power. I was just fine with it stock but with the blown head gasket a mild build wouldn't be such a bad idea. Maybe just throw on a set of cams and be done with it. I've been using the search and I'll find bits and pieces of information here and there. Will search and search some more. I'm hoping to attract the attention of someone who has done a build on their 5s head. What they've done and what they might suggest. So far it seems like regrind cams are the way to go but will require the valves to be shimmed? 2jzgte valves will work but will need some modification? Seems like stock valve springs should work just fine. If anyone has any input please let me know. I wanna get going on this soon so I can get the car back on the road. |

What exactly is wrong with the brake lines? It's the steal lines I'm assuming? How are the calipers? The fuel lines that are next to the rear brakes leaked and corroded the brake lines until they both burst. Putting in full lines from the proportioning valve to the rear requires removing the exhaust so that the gas tank can be removed because the right side line goes above the tank. So I tried to install sections of new line just where they were corroded and burst, which worked for one side but after many attempts at fixing the other side, the old metal lines wouldn't accept the fittings and resulted in a leak still. Calipers in the rear are new along the with pads and new parking brake hardware and shoes. Exhaust is needed now anyway but I'm done with this car and have moved on. Willing to let it go cheap as I need it gone asap before snow hits. Btw this is not a part out thread, I'm selling the whole car for parts. Don't have the time to part out and end up having unsold items sit in my house for months at a time. I'm very interested. I'd ask more questions but it's always best to look at the car personally. When are you available to show the car? |

https://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html#backspace ![]() I've never heard of a backspacing that goes to the thousandths. Thats the information the guy gave me. I guess I can assume that it might just be a typo and its probably 3.75in backspace. So it looks like -6 offset. Hopefully not -15. Thanks for the info. EDIT: Well after googling it. 3.375 does come up as a good backspace number. It comes out to -16 mm offset. That could be too much for an 3rd gen. |

15x7 wheels with a 3.375" backspacing. What is that roughly? +6 mm offset? I have no clue. |

The hood and bumper looks like they line up just fine to me. Its just the rubber piece. But that should be the least of anyones worries. Nice to see the finished project. I'm sort of in the same boat myself. Sorry about your shorts. I never apologized about your shorts. Haha. Good luck on your sale. |

The SSIII front splitters only fit the facelift bumpers. That would be 96 - 99 only. Not true, trdproven installed them on his 94-95 bumper and they look great! Yes, with some work they will fit. The front splitters are specifically made to fit the facelift bumper though. With some work you can make anything fit. |
