Bump guys, parting out an entire working car here or selling whole. hey im looking for stuff for a rear disc brake conversion, i hope you can help me! car has to be non-ABS. these are the parts i need, im at 78744, please let me know a quote, shipped via PM. Rear caliper Back plate with internal brake components for parking brake (drum brake inside walls of rotor) Parking brake cable need these things from both sides. understandable if you dont want to take these parts off at this point in your tear down, so if you could do something like just the parking brake cables and/or caliper that would work too Im also looking for a passenger tail light but you didnt specifiy hatch or vert/coupe. i need the vert/coupe passenger tail thanks! it's a hatchback I apologize. I'll shoot you a pm tomorrow bud and let you know what I can do on the internal components. |

Had court with the officer today and he did lose. He was a rookie trying to make a name for himself. I'm a ginger and stick out like a sore thumb, do the math. Thank god, suspension is gone. |

A celi can't outrun a crown vic on the highway. If you can't hang a right and get out of sight before they close in on you then don't bother. Like I said though if they have to bust a bitch or start from a dead stop I will try to hitthe first exit or turn. I'm already getting a ticket for speeding. But I slow down and pull over immediately if they catch me, otherwise you get a felony evading arrest plus theyre suspicious your stashing dope. On a highway oh no but in the country cop cars arent quite as tough car wise haha. I've gotten an eluding charge, 3 more months on my suspension. It does happen unfortunately, they show up at your house the next morning with cuffs in my experience. My local cop drove a v6 charger weighing in over 4500 pounds with all the equipment on it. They had it tuned for gas mileage, the celica easily accelerated much quicker than that car in my experience. Also crown vics aren't nearly as fast as people think they are or they wouldn't be sold at auction with the same engine under the hood. Here's an idea, don't drive like a jackass then it's not a problem. lmao I don't.Again bored rural cops are assholes. |

In before the V6 vs 3S argument! We can't really tell you what engine you want. That's totally up to you, whether you want N/A or boost, what your budget is, future power goals, etc. You can do a V6 swap on a reasonable budget, but you will be limited in how much extra power you can get out of the engine later. Or for more money, you can swap a 3S-GTE in and get more power out of it pretty easily. Both are good swaps, but we can't tell you which one best suits your needs. You can use your S54 trans and axles for either swap. Cheap and simple for now, something I could possibly throw an automatic tranny into to shut the wife up about not being able to drive the celica because she refuses to learn to drive stick and she loves the car. |

Okay guys I have a 94 GT with a 5 speed manual trans. Well i'm ready for an engine swap or a change sooner than later, maybe a turbo? How difficult would it be to do a 3sgte swap? would I have to change the axles or trans? I'm looking at total cost and labor if I handle most of it. |

You need the key to remove the cylinder, and without the key in the cylinder, it'll most likely lock the steering on you. Take her car and make her pay for losing your keys Such a catch 22 ugh, she doesnt drive unfortunately. Um....can I go to a toyota place with my registration? |

So this might be the wrong section and I apologize if it is, I figured ignition would follow with the engine. But ANYWAYS, my wife took my keys for something and lost them. I cannot move or start my celica now, any way I can remove the cylinder or start it without? I have to work tomorrow afternoon 1994 GT model |

Thanks for the insight Ferdi. I'm going to sit down and make a pros/cons list of a few cars, since those always help. As far as RWD cars go there's the 94-95 Miata, 93-95 325i/is Coupe, 91-93 240SX, and the 94-95 Mustang GT. It'd seem C4 Corvettes are too expensive for the exact model I want, and the 93-02 F-body has ungodly cheap interior and is a bitch to work on. So those are kind of out of the equation. The 87-92 F-body and 92-95 SC300 are damn near impossible to find in the exact model I want, so it'd seem those are out too. Keep bouncing the MKIII Supra around, but I don't know. I thought about the RX7, but rotary brings its own host of problems. Odds are I'll just end up throwing names in a hat and go from there. I respect the fact that theres so much variety in your car choices, tired of fanboys who stick to one thing. And rotary isn't so bad especially if you get one already modified. When those apex seals do go if you over do it it's just best to know how to fix it so a rebuild wont cost you 5k. |

Downshifting and all if fine, it's just having a car that has to all the time is the annoying part. In a past life my main concern was all out power, but I like a car that handles though. I have the ST, I originally got it for the fuel efficiency. Which that it does great, I average 35+ on regular. Here lately I've decided that's not quite as important and I want something that can hold it's own against most cars in a straight line but still handles well. I like the "on rails" feeling the Celica has, direct steering with no play is very important to me. I would do a V6 swap, but I couldn't do half of it. If it's carbureted without computers I can swap it though. The trouble is finding a donor car, not very many V6 Camry/Solara 5-speeds around. That and I was wanting to get back into RWD, but I suppose that could be overlooked maybe.. Ideally I'd have the $15,000 to drop down on a C5 Vette 6-speed, but sadly I don't at the moment. Fair enough, I was leaning towards rwd again myself, hence buying the rx7. I was very pleased with the celica but rwd is still the way to go in my eyes. |

The 5.0 Mustang is reliable enough, and parts are dirt cheap. I just want to make sure that the car is improved, and not waste money in the process. I'm tossing around the idea of lowering springs or coil-overs. Though coil-overs aren't much more than springs and struts for the Miata. The Miata would be a tad faster, just by going off 0-60 times. It's just tiring having a car that doesn't have enough ass to make it around hilly areas without downshifting or speeding. The act of doing it isn't a problem, it's just like "Gah you anemic piece of ****, can't even make it up a hill past third." I know what I want, but I don't know at the same time. I don't have the money to fulfill all of my needs/wants, so I'm having to pick and choose. Therein lies the problem. I keep bouncing back and forth, I do know I'm not happy with the Celica though. Knowing minivans blow the doors off your sports car isn't exactly the greatest feeling in the world. sounds like you have a different issue going on there, I hang in third all around the country side here taking the hilly mountain roads. my driveway is STEEP and i can pull up in second and sometimes third with no issue (had a bad moment in winter and slid back down) . The celica is fun as hell to take around country roads. Although now that I just bought an rx7 I can say it outhandles the celica greatly. Turns in the mountains i'd take at 70 or so in the celica I can take at 100+ in the rx7. But the whole downshifting and speeding is half of experience of owning a stick and I feel like a miata your just going to dig yourself another hole and be unhappy later on. For all the work you'd have to put into the miata you could v6 swap your celi and be done. Are you driving a gt or st? i'll agree the st is rather anemic. |

The factory speedo is not calibrated to read accurately over about 85 mph, and if you're running anything other than stock sized tires and wheels the accuracy is further thrown out the window. You're more likely doing 115-118 actual speed, not the 145 indicated. Verify with a GPS. My gps is always on, 145 is accurate. I had coolant steaming out of my engine when I did it, I never pushed it that far again after. Being my other car is about 400hp 145 is kind of normal being we live on back country roads with nothing around I don't go easy on any of my cars. My wife isn't even phased by it anymore it's funny. |

eh my manual 94 gt with advanced timing and ported and polished heads can max the speedo, I run out of power a little above 145 it seems. The best part about this car is it handles incredibly at even 100mph, I love it. I also gutted my power steering and don't use the A/C so it frees up that little bit of power loss from them which is more significant than people think in engines only putting out so much power like these. |

^Indeed. That's a shame... The more I think about it the Miata would be the way to go. It handles really well, which is something I've come to expect. I realize that's important to me especially after having to drive my grandfather's Lexus ES300 for a few days, I couldn't deal with anything that handled like that or worse. For a sedan it was ok, but still... The slowness of the Miata is easily fixed, the handling of a Mustang probably not so much. Of course if someone wants to give me about $8,000 I'll just get a C5 Vette. Eh a friend of mine has a miata and I think you feel the road way too much. They tend to be very uncomfortable for long periods of time, but the slow problem does definitely need fixed from the beginning haha. my old 92 civic was more comfortable to drive than his car but he was obsessed with it. A lot of miata guys tend to take their cars too seriously i've noticed so I wonder how the community is for them. Hey Box... So at the start of next year I will be heading overseas for a 6month overseas exchange (for university studies) to either the UK or San Jose in California. If I go to Brittain I obviously already know exactly what to get But if I end up in the states I was thinking I would have to go with a stereotypically American V8 coupe... Especially with gas prices so low (<- See what I did there... I said 'gas' instead of 'petrol'.... I'll fit right in now ). Since I will be using holiday spending money to buy and run it I was thinking something around $5k USD. HAS to be a manual, and needs to be reliable enough to clock up the kilometers (wait... Miles ) when I'm over there without too many hassles (so no old Trans Ams or the likes ). Since it is Cali in summer maybe a 2003 V8 Mustang Manual Convertible..... Any other suggestions? 5k for a convertible 2003 mustang manual? good luck buddy in cali haha. They go for more than that out here in PA and they're rusted here. But your totally fitting in now had no idea you weren't an american |

If it was a 79-81 Trans Am I'd be all over it. That's ok, thinking a 94-95 Miata now. was offered a 79 with a 461 olds in a trade for my camaro, before I even got to it the stupid kid managed to blow it up and sold it for 1500 bucks. Too many morons with cars they don't deserve |

If Walmart did this, then it's on Walmart to fix it -- at least to replace the parts damaged (definitely e-brake shoes and possibly the rear rotors). Document, and go have a chat with the service manager. If you've got grounds and he/she won't help, escalate. Store managers hate getting calls from corporate, and really hate getting more than one. considering the car was inspected the day before by a professional it should more than be enough of a case against them. They have these dumb kids who dont even know how to drive a stick parking and moving cars, it's moronic. I'll be making some calls today, they acted like it couldn't have been them -.- |

Buy my 82 z28 I ripped the engine out of an early nova, no electronics except the msd ignition. The way a car was intended to be. Doesn't do too bad gas mileage wise either. Just a hair under 400 horses now |

Found out one of the guys yesterday left the car in first and started it with the e brake up, needless to say it made the e brake stick and ruined the brakes on one side. Some brake cleaner and lube and the calipers and everything are unstuck and fine but I can't use my e brake right now. |
