I have a 94 gt torn apart in the garage. A 95 gt with 3agt swap. And a salvaged drivable 95 gt as well.

All must go so deals will be made. I live in Arizona southern part of the state.

Will add pictures and give more info upon interest and or request. I have a few weeks to get rid of em.

http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/ms3pro-...ness-p-538.html

I now its been a while since I jumped on the tuning thing again but after rereading all the info I found I think this will be the best bet for me. Do you two agree? Remember, I don't know much about this ****, so getting one that's all the way completed is a hell of a lot easier.

My only question is how much work do I have to do with my harness to make this thing work.

Not loosing patience, but am starting to think things over a bit for the last few months since starting this project.

I think I am going to slowly build this up instead of doing it all at once.

Reasons for change:
1. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE HELL IM DOING. smile.gif
2. I feel that if I go will all performance I am just going to destroy high dollar parts by screwing something up.
3. I feel that By slowing it down a bit, then working my way up to the original project goal, I will save a lot of money, and well..... pride.

So on with the change...

1. Using stock internals with a c26 turbo, which is on its way.
2. Did get my hands on an e153 tranny so am still going to swap out my automatic for the manual.
3. Going to turbo and learn, most likely ruin a block and eternals on one of my two 5sfe blocks. But its so I can learn what I am doing.
4. I will still be only making purchases towards the end goal from the start of my thread, but will be doing it all a little bit at a time.

Question I have, If I am going to do this, I need to start looking really good into the Megasquirt system, or some other stand alone ECU. Anyone who has relevant information on this, please add a link to the site/forum/topic so I can get a lot more research done on it. Thanks everyone for the help. You guys are awesome.

O'Reilly's, Autozone, Advance, NAPA, Carquest, etc. don't carry the correct axles for the 6th gen. What they sell are intended to fit the 5th gen, that's why they are too short. I had the same issue, but I never drove on the one I installed from Autozone because it was 5mm+ too short. Someone at Carquest was able to special-order an EMPI brand axle, equivalent to Toyota OEM. I'm speaking of the driver side, in my case...

KK guys, im in a bind, and could use some help

My 3sgte 95 gt is having cv shaft issues.

3sgte Motor Second Gen

S54 stock trany

3sgte clutch with the 5sfte flywheel and what not.

Neways, I keep blowing axels since I got the car. Mechanic says its looking like there stretching and then there breaking apart.

I had the OEM Toyota put in about 3 weeks ago and it blew. Then I went and had the oriellys one put in yesterday and the mech said it blew during the QA check ride. LMFAO. Im hurting.

Anyways my question is, if my car is lowered, is there a different axcel that is better for the car setup? Such as a st185 or what not that fits into the s54 tranny? Something a bit longer to stop the stretching if that is the case that killing these axels?

Any help or ideas appreciated.

Been looking at starting the purchases for my build. To start I am searching for the the e153 lsd trans. I have found a few on ebay and what not but for pricing reasons I was thinking about just comboing it with a motor, (another 3sgte most likely.) Anyways, the companies with the jdm motors for sale on ebay and all over the net never have a version of the transmission. I found a st215 caldina motor with an 5spd fwd transmission on it. Which doesnt make sense cuase the caldina didnt have a 5spd fwd M tranny. Anyways, was hopeing to get lucky with the tranny being a e153 lsd, so I called and they asked me to describe how to find out which tranny it is. Is there a proper way to describe any distinguishing features of the tranny to know if its an e153?

Seriously, these manufactures need to start marking this ****. smile.gif lol

OMG........... I am dizzy in research. lol. But as pressure, and sway and many others have stated, its the most important part of any build. Anyways, I have decided to go with the following for my build

400 HP Street, With a high power band. This project will take some time now that I figured I would be dropping about 15k into it.

Here is what the planning has gotten me.

Will get the motor pulled in the next two weeks and hopefully see if my first motor will run the project, if not I have to chop up my other 5s and see if that motor will do smile.gif So much fun learning this stuff though.

anyways here is the current shopping list as it sits right now. Please critique if you have ever used any of these parts and feel that its not good enough for the goals.

Been researching transmissions for a few weeks now. Here is where I am sitting.

Auto Out of the question smile.gif

I am building power, and its hooking up to an 5sfte build. On a st 204 chasis.

So first and foremost, the s54 transmission, which I have two of them, is literally a plug and play, but whats the max hp/torque this thing can hold.

What e153 models are front wheel drive if any, and if I use one, with or without lsd, do I need costum axels?

Same question for the 154f but I think those are awd right?

shooting for 350+ hp with a 5sfte. Got post for the project so don't spam here about the choice of project and money.

Just using this to find the best transmission that is front will drive that will hold up to the hp/trq and also mounts with no chassis wielding on frame.

Cams are already on my list mate, in the my project threads. Im doing everything in the engine pretty much. Like I said, this isn't going to be a half ass project. I have the head and the block pretty much sourced for parts, and not trying to see if I need can crank shaft parts forged, or if the stock should hold. I would be replacing the bearings either way.

Think im gonna go with the 8.5:1 for more psi

cuase I want to be different smile.gif and its fun, and it will be one of a kind if not just very few. smile.gif

Anyways, looking at some numbers here should I lower my compression to 8.5:1 if im planning on boosting?

Choosing the right Static Compression Ratio is dependent on your goals. Is this gonna be driven daily? Track-only? A mix of both? What octane/alternative fuel will you be using?

I'm going to run stock 9.5:1 compression ratio. New turbocharged engines come with 9.5:1 static compression. I find it's the best compromise in "low" CR and off-boost drivability. The lower your static CR, the more of a slouch the car will be off-boost, but the more boost you can run "safely" (I put it in quotation marks because this is where fuel comes into play)

3SGTE engines come with 9.0, 8.8 and 8.5:1 compression ratios, and some engines have come with as low as 7.5:1 CR in the past (Hyundai Scoupe)

If you're gonna be running on E85, you can run 9.5:1 CR and tons of boost very safely, vs running 91 octane and lots of boost. It all depends on how you want the car to behave. Static CR also directly impacts turbo spool time, which is something else to take into consideration. (lowering CR to use a huge turbo kinda hits hard on spool time, so a dual ball bearing garrett or precision turbo unit is recommended, for example)

Gonna be running on 91 oct
Thinking of running the 8.5 compression. I really don't care how fast it is in the low gears/rpms but really want to be able to have some upper end. So I think the 8.5 will allow more boost for the engine. So I will probably have to go with a dual ball bearing garrett. Any recomdations on the turbo? again looking for 350 easy and room for more if wanted. The block will handle it with all the forged internals. (I hope smile.gif

The car is going to be a show, and also a trip car for when I drive distances over a few hours. I like know it sounds dumb, but that's what I want. I don't do the track, nor do I street race, but would like to be able to pull away from the gt's out there. I think 350 hp is plenty enough for the street, if even a little to much, but like I said, I am looking for more control high end then I am early. So will the compression being lower, and my valves selected/along with the 5sfe pauter rods and the springs, be able to get me better high end? Even move the redline to the right a little?

Like I said guys, I am very humble and thank you all for the support and knowledge. Its a dream, but I only have the time and the money, and you all have the knowledge. smile.gif

Engine Hoist gets here today, got the engine stand in yesterday. Will be working and taking more pictures on the removal. Will be a slow process cuase I Have no experience on doing any of this. So I will be labeling everything which adds a lot of time lol. But will payoff in the end.

As soon as I get the first motor pulled, hopefully the only one if the motor is within specs of the project, I will bring it down to a local guy and get it machined. Trying for the pure 2.2L so we will see. The closer everything is to true stock specs the better in my opinion. At least till the motor is done and I start to work on the forced induction.

Thinking about dropping compression to 8.5 for boost allowance. Anyone experienced with this or played with this?

The difference is the big end bore. You'll need to grind the 5SFE crankshaft down to fit the 3SGTE rods, or get 5SFE rods such as Pauter rods.

kk thanks
ill go with the pauter rods

These are the rods I am looking at but am trying to figure out the problem I cant solve
On Both of these rods everything is the same except the B E BORE

I have no idea what that means, and I assumed it was bottom end Bore but after reading I don't think that's right. Anyways, I have heard that the 3sgte Rods are good so was looking at those as a replacement, but again, the one measurement is off and don't want to get something that wont work.
Any ideas on the difference guys?
