HERES THE CL ADD WITH PICS smile.gif http://newjersey.craigslist.org/cto/5190438252.html
pictures are as of today 8/25/15

1997 celica hatchback for sale or trade, I need the money ASAP to buy a bigger car, would consider trading for a ford escape 09+, lincoln towncar 07+, a minivan 2008+ tell me what you have or your offer, Im technically giving you the car for free and only charging you for some parts for this price!yet still a bit negotiable text me an offer worst I could say is no, my phone number is in the CL add TEXT ONLY, I spend months without using this forum
some highlights;
-2 sets of wheels
1 set x4 15 inch ASA wheels black with tires 2 good 2need to be replaced
1 set x4 16 inch 2006 Celica GTS wheels oem installed with new yokahama tires I got like 4 months ago.
brand new battery from TOYOTA about 3 months old
rear view camera, panasonic radio CD player with aux in for your phone, tablet or laptop, and subs

I bought this celica cheap with many issues which I have fixed, about 3400$ later just in parts, the car runs and drives like new! and im 100% sure you can put another 100,000 miles on it with no problems, I thought I was going to keep it for ever, but now I need a newer bigger car for work

im a die hard toyota fanatic and ive been restoring this car for over 2 years and a half but I dont have a garage or a driveway to park it, but my uncle told me to park it in his driveway for 1 month after that i will be having to move it around to avoid sweeping tickets which is a pain and paying insurance and registration for a car thats not being used. so here are the details

$*$*$*$*$ THINGS INCLUDED WITH THE CAR *$*$*$*$*$
# Pioneer radio CD player with AUX input to plug your iPhone, Android phone, or laptop **INSTALLED
# Pioneer amplifier **INSTALLED
# 2 12" inch infinity subs **INSTALLED
# a second set of 15 inch wheels with tires 2 tires are good 2 are bad, you can put a set of snow tires on this set and use them as your winter set and use the other as your summer set, that way the tires will last longer and its cheaper than just swapping the tires on the same wheels.
# a second set of tail lights that are red out and smoked for car shows
# a set of round foglights if I can find them
# all weather rubber floormats **INSTALLED
# rear view wide angle cameras with a 7 inch display PERFECT for new drivers --INSTALLED
# 2 extra tail light wiring harnesses if I can find them

I really want this car to be driven and have a good owner thats going to take good care of it and love it as much as I do!

$$$ Here is a parts list of things I have changed $$$

***6 months or less ago***
# brand new alternator
# alternator belt
# AC compressor belt
# Brand new Timing belt
# water pump
# oil seals for the crankshaft and camshafts

# driver side headlight
# both low beam light bulbs sylvania
# valve cover gasket
# o ring gaskets for the spark plugs
# coolant flush
# thermostat with gasket
# painted gloss black all the black plastic accents
# plasti dipped a blue european style racing stripe but I just removed it
# New battery post clamp thing
# brake light bulbs

# rainx latitude wiper blades the best in the market they worked perfect until the last time I drove the car, I highly recommend getting the same if you replace them, they are simply the BEST!
# spark plug wires
# driver side headlight bulb
# lift gates shocks
# fixed some dents on drivers side
# replaced both air bags the car was in a minor accident that broke the headlight and the fender got dented, the high beam hit the airbag sensor, I have pictures before the repair so you can see how minor it was just ask for pictures and ill send them thats how I bought it
# replaced the interior door panel on 1 of the doors becacuse it was faded from the sun a bit
# installed a pioneer radio and infinity subs

THE BAD
# you might want to check the front right bearing, since I replaced the left one because it was bad, the right one will soon need to be replaced.
# the AC leaks a bit of water inside the car, I was going to make a plastic or fiberglass liner to catch the droplets, but havent had time. and I dont know how to work with A/Cs and refrigerants to fix the source problem
# the car could use a paint job and a few dents fixed

############ PLEASE NOTE ###############
IF you do decide to paint the car, PLEASE get in coordination with me so you can take it to a body shop on my day off, and I will buy the necessary tape and paper to mask the car and I WILL mask the car myself FOR FREE!!!, DO NOT trust any body shop with that, I made that mistake 3 times with some of my other cars at different body shops, and I want this car to look perfect even if Im not the one thats going to enjoy driving it!

I LOVE this car, and I HATE the fact I need the money to buy a bigger car for work, but eventually Ill get another one, once I save enough with the new job, but Ill definitely miss this one frown.gif

I think if the meet gets postponed to mid to late july no one should have excuses, since they would have more than enough time to get their cars ready for the road, I would like to show mines after the custom front bumper, but if the meet is before the vacation I wont be able to show it, but that wont stop me from going with my stock looking celica lol.
btw, everyone seems to be talking about money problems, is there like an admission fee of any sort? ive never been to a celica meet before..
also I might need to look at my gas filler components and check for rust or corrosion, lol too many people here with the same problem

i want one biggrin.gif i looked around for it when i did the gt4 hood and bumper but had no luck, so my hood has 4 little holes in it.

the design on that spoiler could used improvements, to guide the air flow over the wipers instead of guiding it right to it..., if I were you I would make a custom one, im going to redo my front end so Im going to raise the hinges like 1 inch or so for the hood itself to guide the air over the wipers and then modifying the fenders to make it look close to normal, you'll see hopefully before next winter lol

Damn, if many people would buy 1000$ kits, I would start making my own original designs and make kits that would really work aerodynamically for track cars, some that would make the car look more modern, and some designed for better fuel efficiency that would be very aerodynamic reducing the big gaps for cooling down the engine bay but at the same time making the car more appealing to the eye, my car for example is going to be my project, Im going for a hybrid kit, sporty but without sacrificing gas mileage, I will post some pictures and start a thread when I start working on it, Im going to have like 10 days with no school this summer and im going to ask for 4 from work and hope for good weather since I dont have a garage lol if enough people like it ill start my own shop and sell hand made kits and tested for fitment on my own car before shipping

Thanks TheCreatorOf!

What do you use to keep the grille in place?
& is this what you're talking about?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/PLASTIC-ABS-UNIVER...5ec&vxp=mtr

Im going to design my own front bumper, eventually the whole front end and then the rear, baby steps lol, but im going to make some small holes around where the stainless steel/plastic/nylon bolts are going to sit, put a washer on the bolts, pull fiberglass strands from the inner side to the outer through the holes using a hook shaped paperclip and fiberglass both sides of the bumper, sand, fill, sand, filler primer, sand then paint the outer side of the bumper, and have bolts where I can use some of the holes on the mesh to fasten with a washer and nut on the back side of the bumper and then trim the mesh with a hacksaw blade or rotary tool.

sorry for taking so long to reply, my account might say that im online 24/7, but I never turn off my computer and I always leave like 20 tabs open for all the websites I might use lol...obviously I dont have to pay electricity bills... and my computer is pretty darn reliable biggrin.gif made it myself what can I say... lol

I have a 94 I need a tail light for the passenger side. Im not sure if they are the same as yours but I will take a set shipped to 13492 if they are still available.

If im not mistaken the coupe and the convertible share the same taillights, but these are for the hatchback, hatchback taillights do not fit the coupe nor the vert, therefore if you do have a hatchback yes, these will fit no matter if its GT/ST/GT-four

Where can you get a mesh grille like that?

Home Depo? gutter leaf guard or something like that?4 kindasad.gif
I personally prefer the honey comb plastic mesh, thats the one im going to use, you can get it on ebay for I think less than 40$ and it makes the car look more modern and OEM

I'd say that there's something wrong with your wiring or maybe you've got a blown fuse. LEDs are usually in parallel, so if one goes out the rest are still working.

**cough** in series not parallel**cough**cough**

How come you see third lights where only one or two LEDs in the middle aren't working?
I'm not familiar with this specific wing brake light, but putting something as a row of LEDs, used as a brake indicator, in series would be just dumb...

I kindof got mixed up, I use both just like BMW, I do parallel rows of about 3 leds in series, but ive used just parallel, too like on the cluster of my GT, and on the turn signals of my ST and they lasted as long as I had the car(over 2 years) and not a single one burnt biggrin.gif, but I used both like I said on the dome lights of my MR2, it just depends if Im making a strip, or a square/similar shape.

They are wired either in parallel( for a few large LEDs) or both series and parallel for arrays with a lot of LEDs. Most importantly each LED consumes 2-4 volts of electricity so at 12 volts you cant run more than 3 - 5 leds in series before they start running out of power.

Mine has 97 leds, it has 39 circuits( composed of 2 - 3 leds in SERIES) connected in parallel across a common power and ground.

Notice the small blue resistors are for the vertical rows of 3 leds in series and the large tan resistors are for the short 2 led circuits in between.

DAMN! I would love to see a picture of that monster turned on!

not a huge fan of yellow, but looks good, and the paint job on the tailgate looks awesome!, if I were you id get rid of the antenna at the same time.
I want to do a custom duckbill, delete the antenna, LED taillight and do a custom diffuser on the rear bumper as far as the rear of the car smile.gif hopefully I inspired you smile.gif and because of your cars color carbon fiber accents wouldn't look bad at all wink.gif

Time for another update:

Have been busy a lot with with installing the valves en valve stem steals. How stupid could i be, trying to put the seals completely to the bottom of the valve guide :S. Should have read better before. Killed 6 of them and i have to remove the rest of the valves to check the other seals. When comparing how easily the valves could go in and out, i spotted a little rip/tear in one of the seals. When checking 2 other seals i spotted the same problem frown.gif. This is really expensive teaching money, but learned a lot.
Wow and how difficult the valve retainer locks wil go in position. This took my a LOT of time. And worst is that because of the seals i can do it all over again frown.gif

Good news? Yes, i picked the stock airbox and exhaust header up from the powder coating. They really look as new, or maybe even better then new biggrin.gif I'm really happy with that and it's worth every penny!

Because i had to wait on the new valve seals i went ahead with the throttle body. I removed the injectors and changed them for some i had ultrasonic cleaned before. Changed the o-rings and vibration insulators for new one's and (pre-)mounted the brackets.

Here are the pictures:

Powder coated airbox:

Powder coated header:

Cleaned injectors:

Throttle body with painted brackets:

UHHHH Gloss black engine parts!? im drooling!, so tempting since ive done so much gloss black around the car, I need to get into that engine bay lol

I'm tall where it counts. wink.gif Being short used to bother me, and does occasionally when I can't reach things. I've learned to see the good in it, I can fit into all the small cars that I like. tongue.gif

yeah like on a Tesla Roadster, BMW z3/M Roadster, and Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder that I can barely fit lol, and with the top down/removed the top of the windshield is in my line of sight LOL so I have to either look over it or duck my head a little to look through the windshield laugh.gif

Edit: But yours sounds like a good alternative... I'll keep updated smile.gif

Yes toyota did do this, my 1991 MR2 had dimming key ring on the door handles, ignition, and dome light

With the seat all the way back I barely can get my toes on the pedals. I probably have the seat halfway in the track, if not a little closer to towards the front. I could have it back some more, but this way with the clutch in I still have some bend in my knee. If it were automatic I'd have it further back.

C'mon Box, what are you doing posting on this threat? this is like the roller-coasters, you have to be at least 6 feet tall to post here laugh.gif

I cut my brackets in the rear and re-welded them two inches lower. This gave me more headroom since I'm 6'4" and have a sunroof. Everyone is different, sitting height and leg length etc. We run into this problem with the training helo we fly, I barely made the sitting height requirement, where other guys 6'4" have no issues with that and bigger issues with leg length, etc.

DUDE!, thats freaking genius! can you post a picture or 2 of the seats angle and of the area you modified?

yeah, Im 6'3 and I feel like I need my seat to move 2 extra inches back and 1 or 2 more down, for when taking my break at work, I like stretching my legs, also for when using the celica as a**cough** hotel**cough** also in case of an acident I would have more head room to not bang my head on the sunroof or mess up my hairdo lol
