no that wasn't directed at you...and i'll take some pics of mine as soon as i can come up with a camera....it looks like all those pics you have of the ones with sharp cutoff are obviously projectors...and yes this looks much better but also comes with a nice pricetag of about a grand for our cars...the whole discussion was whether or not they were "dangerous" or even worked properly...which i know they do...obviously they'd look much better in projectors...another thing...they pic you have which says "large hot spots" "glare" is awfully close to the garage door don't you think....if that car was backed up a bit wouldn't the light spread out and merge together in the middle? just some thoughts...

Hmph, take a reflector housing designed for a filament bulb and install a gas discharge bulb....think the beam pattern's going to be more than a bit off. Mind you, with the lousy DOT pattern the U.S. demands, who could tell?

That assumes, of course, you've altered the wiring harness enough to convert standard car power to the much different voltages required by HID...

the beam pattern is the same becuase the bulbs are the same size...9006...NO ADJUSTMENT of any kind is needed...but hey i don't care i like being the only one with HID's since everybody else thinks it's such a hard thing to do...just tryin to tell you it's nearly plug and play and since you don't have em in your car how would you know? another thing...HID's use 35watts compared to the 60-65 your factorys or aftermarkets use and actually burn cooler...again there is no danger whatsoever to your housings or harnesses....i've had em for over a year...a friend has em in his supra...another in his mr2...no adjustments...sorry for sounding like a dick, but it's really not that complex of a thing and people spread alot of fiction about em.

Unless you have spent a couple thouasand converting your headlights to use gas arc discharge technology, no HID bulb will work in your car properly.

HID is a completely different technology than the halogen bulbs Celicas all use. If it has a filament in the bulb, it's not HID. Since the page wouldn't respond, my guess would be it's yet another "HID" bulb which is actually a blue-tinted halogen bulb. These are crap. They initially produce the same light as a halogen bulb, then filter out the lower frequencies to change the colour. The trouble is, by cutting out the lower light wavelengths, you cut the amount of light by which you're supposed to be able to see.

Projectors sort of look like HID, but they're still halogen bulbs, just a better design than the reflector designs on most cars.

actually i run 6000k philips HID's and there are no problems. they cost about $400 dollars and no conversion is needed as long as you get 9006 bulb size....pics at www.cardomain.com/id/chrome94celica...i've got plenty of friends who have converted theirs. the set up is a bit different, it has ballasts and some different wiring, but the housing is unaltered.

is the dragon necessary? i was still thinkin pigeon forge would be just a nice place to have a 'meet.' not that i don't wanna drive it, but if it's such a hassle we could all just hang out and stuff and maybe cruise the strip on a friday or saturday night and go do something in gatlinburg.

i say you don't worry bout everybody's hotels and stuff. if they wanna stay that should be up to them. it'll be pretty difficult to reserve rooms for alot of people then somebody would be screwed when people didn't show and stuff. i say we just meet and see what happens then if anybody's interested in stayin they can go from there.

what's the estimated time you're lookin at for sat. morning? i'll drive down from home but i don't have the funds for staying over or anything. i'd like to meet up, get some good pictures, and then take a drive up the mountains and maybe get some more cool pics all together at overlooks or somethin...just throwing some ideas down.
