Fantastic track ready tire. The amount of traction it provides might be overkill for a daily driver imho unless you're making a ridiculous amount of power.

Pros:
Excellent dry/wet performance
Quiet when new
Durable if on a DD car. Mine have ~50,000 miles on them and still has plenty of tread left

Cons:
Slight drop in gas mileage ~1-2mpg
Become noisier/drone as the tread wears down (You can hear them if the radio is off at highway speeds, but road noise usually drowns it out. I don't find it to be intrusive at all)

QUOTE (_Jim_ @ Nov 17, 2010 - 7:23 PM) *
Does anyone know what kind of hood pins those are, I want them for my alltrac. I bought the same hood as the one on this car...and now I see why he has hood pins (I am sure doing 200+mph in the standing mile may also come into play LOL). I love the look of those hood pins, so any help would be great.

Those are probably the Aerocatch hood latches. At least those are the only ones I know that look like those out there lol.

Hi, I'm selling a set of tC wheels with bad tires. The bolt pattern is 5x100 and the offset is +45. The condition of the rims are so-so with 2 rims with curb rash. One has minor curb rash while the other one has bad curb rash almost all around the rim. The other 2 rims are in good condition with some light scratches from daily use. There are about ~35k miles on the rims and tires, there are some miles left on the the tires, but I'd they are pretty much bald at this point. The wheels come with the original scion center caps, but I also have prius center caps as pictured for an extra 25 dollars. I'm asking $175+shipping. Please don't waste my time with low balling. Local pickup is preferred, but I am willing to ship within the continental us. Thanks for looking!

Arguably, the best model years for the 7th gen celica is 00-01s.

00's lift engagement at 6200 RPMs to a redline at 8350rpm. Early 00's came from the factory with lift at 6000rpm.

01's were the same as 00's but with revised shift gates.

02's had their redline reduced to 7800rpm.

03's had their redline returned to 8350rpm, but were converted to drive by wire throttle instead of cable driven throttle.

04's were the same as the 03's.

05's had their redline reduced back to 7800rpm.

00-01 are the fastest, but 03-05 has a much better looking interior and have avaliable factory hid as an option. Also on the earlier model years, if the previous owner redlined the car often, the "lift" bolts would prematurely wear out and/or break. The design of the lift bolts were revised in later model years and do not suffer from the concentrated wear on these bolts. The bolts themselves are dirt cheap and it's a good idea to change them just in case and start with a fresh pair of revised design bolts. Also the early models came with plastic sunroofs that would fade very badly. The later models came with heavier glass sunroofs.

Claybar or some vinegar diluted with water should do the trick.

There is a rev limiter, the only reason why 00-01 GT-Ss are better is because lift kicked in at 6000rpm and had a redline of 8400. 01s had a revised shift gates in attempt to lower the percentage of people misshifting and blowing up the engine.

lol subaru really knows how to drop the ball. I think it's a self imposed curse or a genius purge that keeps only real die hard subaru fans around because everytime they come really close to a winning combination and dare I say a popular car, they always do something to it to screw it up.

They look like the OEM 17" rims that come with the Matrix M-Theory. If they are, then they are 5x100. Offset I think should be around +45 if I remember correctly.

lol halogen projector lenses aren't too good. Try sourcing the OEM HID headlights or swap out the lenses for ones from a TSX and whatnot.

Nonono, Michelin Pilot Primacy's are really crappy tires. For a summer tire, it has poor grip as it squeels very easily under the slightest bit of force or acceleration. The sidewalls are stiff and creates for a lumpy ride. I took those off after only a couple of months and my new lower profile tires are alot grippier and have a better ride. IMHO don't go for a 6" rim, it severely limits your tire choices, go for at least a 7" rim. If you're looking at corolla xrs rims and you like them, go for the regular matrix xr rims as they come with wider tires and the rim is 6.5" instead of 6".

Same motor, but the one in the spyder is slightly different. It has MFI injection and lighter weight cast rods from the regular 1zz-fe.

Awesome, the 7A actually fits in the front seats lol. Goodluck with the build, only thing I could think of is to get the engine balanced and to do a 3 or 5 angle valve job and port and polish the intake and exhaust and match that with the manifolds so it would breathe better.

You can always throw on BMW shrouds if you're too lazy lol. $650 for a projector retrofit and oem hids and ballast is a steal. Does this apply towards other cars too? wink.gif
