Check your fuses first man. Ecu should be fuse protected. Also check relays

fuses are all fine. relays are good too. caps in ecu are burned.

can anyone help me in deciphering the numbers on the ecu? i have a 96gts liftback with bad ecu. number 89661 - 2D410. can anyone help me find a compatible ecu? what do the nmbers 2D410 mean? there is also 5s-fe m/t on the unit. it is a 96 so a compatibl e unit would have to be a 96 to maybe 98 or 99 since it is an OBDII unit. thanks for any help.

hi, i have a 96 gt 5spd liftback with a bad ecu - a potential buyer hooked up his battery charger/starter in reverse and burned it out. i'm the idiot for allowing him to do it unsupervised - i know. anyway the ecu is 89661-2d410. are there any other ecu's that are compatible? i know the 96 and later are obdII so it would have to be from a 96 to 99 maybe. i have seen others that are close. i found a california emmission ecu that is a 2d430 and was wondering if it is compatible. the other markings on the ecu are 5s-fe m/t. any help or suggestion would be appreciated. thanks.
