QUOTE(FallenHero @ Mar 23, 2005 - 12:18 PM) you would be surprised what will fit... 5th gen celica with a Lexus V8, 1st gen MR2 with a northstar motor... Get a Hyabusa engine. I personally would re-build what is in there and boost it. If you really want to swap in something else, you must look at this from a few different dimensions. :1. where is your honor, 2. boost or no? 3. what power/life ratio do you want? As far as honor, no toyota engine that is 1.6ish ltr will be able to outperform say a... B16 honda engine. The technology is far greater, and the overall design in superior. Ask kwanza, he has experiance working with honda and toyota engines. he will saay the same thing. Turbo is best for most people. You want your right foot to make the car go fast. It happens to the best of us, and a turbo will install the biggest smile on your face. 3, Turbo or NA you will need to look at streetability. You can have 2-300 whp for a while or less than that for a Long time. On NA you can have 12-13:1 compression, but it is going to be a pain to maintain. I personally would just install the stock motor re-built and be happy with a neet little slow car. Not from what i have seen on the quartermiles... toyotas black and silver top 4age's seem worthy adversaries to the hondas B16's and many cars with 20 valve swaps are more than capable of beating a civic type R stock for stock in the quartermile. The toyota vvt has come a long way and IMHO it stands up pretty well against the VTEC systems |

The 4e-fte is a 1.3 turbo and not 1.6... And minibeast is exagerating alot since they run 16 second quartermile's stock. I have a friend which got the newer starlet glanza with the 4efte and boost increased to 12psi only gave a 15.92 sec quartermile. Average was 16.2 at 12psi... Don't forget it has an F head and is an economy engine and isnt meant for performance... |

lol laws arent enforced on this island... the law enforcement is really bad. I have been clubbing since i was 14 and a nine year old could buy alcohol if he wants. They don't ID us for cigarets, alcohol or lottery tickets. The cops don't arrest you for donuts and burn outs and most times they don't care about street racing. I am happy i am 18 though. I am scared my dad gives me luggage tomorrow though lol. |

lol i don't mind the wing much but i deffinantly need it. Just pulling out of a junction slowly in first and accelerating slowly to the redline in first still makes the back tires spin out at 6000rpm - 8000rpm... It is insane. I can have all the traction on earth in first and once it reaches 6000rpm in that gear the tires instanly spin out. When 4th gear ends it is at 195kph and i still got 5th gear to go... It is truly a beast. |

YEH of course man first thing after school tomorrow. It burns first to third... It needs a bit of work but just minor stuff to get it all up. No AC though but i am getting the compressor and all the parts from the owner so i can install it myself. I am actually scared of the car. Those BOV's are so friggin loud. |

Yeh guys i just got my 240sx with the rb20det swap tonight! I will be posting pics tomorrow for sure! It is incredible. It is by far the fastest car i have had the pleasure of driving. It has an upgraded turbo from a VQ30det running 11psi daily with a supra intercooler and twin hks sqv BOV's. Upgraded Mine's ECU, aem fuel pressure regulator, all necessary guages, skyline tranny, copper clutch, leather seats, 17 inch rims and upgraded skyline front disks and calipers. It looks like a work of art and i will deffinantly get the pic's up for all you guys to see tomorrow. I almost can't sleep because that beast is parked outside. |

QUOTE(KAMiX @ Jan 19, 2005 - 5:56 PM) QUOTE(importceli @ Nov 14, 2004 - 12:24 PM) bows down to e-break drift/all around player god kwanza Yeah I'd just like to dig this post up from the grave and point out that aggressive 'I am better than all of you so I'm always right' posts like the ones kwanz made are what have made me stop visiting the site. Dude I have raced bikes, cars and carts since I was 12 - actually let me complete that list for you. 50 & 100cc carts 125 & 250cc motocross 4 wheel 250cc bikes (banshees) VL/VK commodores (v8 rwd) Speed cars, Sprint cars (shared a seat for 1 season) I don't by any means think this is a big list... but it is a lot bigger than some people here, and I do have real race experience, I'm not some wannabe ricer like you automatically label everyone. Admittedly theres no FWD vehicles on that list... all I've done is take my celi around the local track and watched lots of road and rally races on TV. I never once said you could drift a FWD. If you look over my earlier posts you will see I was bashing those who said ya could, and said that 'feint-drifting' if that's what you want to call it was the closest to drifting you can get in a FWD - which it is. You need to take your oily little finger out your arse and listen to what others have to say once in a while - you never know it might make you a better person. So in summary, **** YOU. oooooooooooooooooooooohhhh i sense some insecurity about his experience... Does anyone else? It is really kinda stupid letting someone on a forum get you all worked up. Why do you have to care that much? Can you not be happy that you know what you know and just try to ignore what others say? And that business about listing **** you have experience with and as backup to why you think your right.. A word of advice, Grow up please. |

lol i know a guy with a fully modded out rx7 and he just upgradded to a T88 turbo. The compressor housing is just shy of 1 foot in diameter... It is the biggest turbo i have seen on a automobile but i have seen much much larger ones on generators. |

The twin hks BOV's sound amazing and the super dragger exhaust is so deep and quiet. It is truly an amazing sexy car. |

Ok guys a friend of mine has a 240sx with an rb20det swap. This car comes stock from japan with an sr20det but he bought the car as a shell and added a modified R32 skyline gts-t engine. It runs 8psi stock but he has it up to 11psi and a switch for 14psi on the strip. He just bought a 300zx and wants a car for his wife but needs an auto and offered to take my car and $2000eastern caribbean dollars for this beast. It has 17inch rims, full racing adjustable suspension, Upgraded calipers and disks in the front from a skyline gtr, 2 hks super sequential blow off valves, K&N air filter, upgraded vq30 turbocharger, upgraded mines ecu, turbo timer, boost control, boost guage, air fuel meter, aem fuel pressure regulator, skyline gts tranny for shorter gear ratios and a 3 inch straight pipe from the turbo to an HKS super drager exhaust. It also has brown leather seats and a white aluminium spoiler. What do you guys think. The car is a 1991 model with a 1995 rb20det. I own a 1996 toyota carina sx with a 7afe. Should i go for it... $2000ec dollars is roughly $736 US dollars. It needs new master cylinder seals and valve seals, but other than that it works great. The 2 BOV's scream and it also has a supra intercooler. I heard a 240sx with a rb20det swap is very very rare. |

And my previous post was made with the thought that you said that he was no threat at all. Lets face it gang... if the guy could have hit us, he would have. He also financed terrorism (or so i have heard) to a great degree. So you have heard??? You also heard that there were weapons of mass destruction in iraq also didnt you... Did you believe that one in the same way you believe what the news tells you? This has all been a fight for oil. Who is in charge of afghanistan now?? Some vice president of some major oil company bush use to work for before he was president... A pipeline deal stopped by clinton is now back on track since then... What is happening to iraq oil now? Isnt that going almost all to america? Bush goes after pushovers. He knows he wont be able to invade north korea like he did afghanistan and iraq. He would have alot more trouble there. I can assure you that the rest of the world is against america on its actions in the middle east... There is not one arab country except israel that wishes they had a nuke with america written all over it right now. What i never understood was how come bush turned on france the way he did when they didnt support the war... So much for thanking a country for helping america win the war for independance all those centuries ago. That really was a low blow to other countries of the world. |

Your best hope for a tranny for an A series engine that will stand that abuse would be the 4age 20 valve tranny. Since it handles the speed and power of the 1600cc 20 valve engine spinning at over 8000rpm then that would be your main candidate to withstand the extra. I am sure it is capable of handling alot more power since there are guys that turbo that engine and get alot more power out of it on that tranny. But the head swap on that engine would be a must since the 7afe has an FE fuel economy head and the GE head is a performance head and with the 5 valves per cylinder of the 20valve then efficiency is increased along with performance. Goodluck with all of this man. |

the 3sge is a NA engine. I would seriously start with buying forged piston rods and a forged crank shaft and some 11:1 compression pistons. You would want to get a 4age 20valve cylinder head and throttle bodies also and do a head swap since those engines run to 8300rpm redline and also do it on 11:1 compression pistons. You will basically be making a 7age hybrid engine with alot more power and with very reliable rods and crank shafts and a port and polish job on the head and the use of the 4age with high compression pistons, there is no reason why you cant rev that engine up to 9000rpm although ur tranny probrbably wont support those speeds but engine wise that is the best wya to go in fully building up an NA 7afe. |

It probrably is timing i would think. I only ever adjusted the timing on a ka24de but that was done using a timing light on the main pulley and the timing marks and then twisting the distributor from left to right ti adjust the timing. Not sure if toyota engines are the same but i am sure google would have all the info for adjusting the timing on your specific engine. lol just kidding about the pic!! |
