I don't know if any members remember me but I did buy that expensive supercharger from ripp modds and am FINALLY finally trying to finish it up after two years. Its rough the cars computer hates the supercharger thats for sure and the safc II that ripp modds gave me doesn't compensate for the cars poor poor idle. I even took it too big shops to help like AMS and Sound Performance in the burbs of chicago and even they had little advice to give that wouldn't include spending a bazillion dollars. Good luck. |

Hey all! It's been a while since I have submitted anything on 6gc.net but it feels good to be back browsing the forums again. I still have the same car a RIPP mods supercharged celi. The first of it's kind as far as I know. I basically stopped coming on here because i gave up on the car/ran out of money. I live in the chicagoland area and am wondering if any local's would be willing to help me out and get her running. she idles very poorly and I am getting a fuel pressure drop of when i get above 40mph. last summer i gave sound performance (who are awesome guys might i add) about 900 bucks to get her runnin and they did but not in her tip top shape. i am pretty sure i need a new FPR and a new fuel line prob from the filter because I think it is leaking. annnyways if there are any awesome celi mechanics in chi town that want to make some cash let me know and id be willing to hook em up. I am just tired of screwin with her in general and i just want her to run good. send me a pm or an email alltrac96@gmail.com. |

I have two practically brand new Sparco racing seats with a color scheme of red/black. I bought these for 600 each I am only going to ask for 700 for both. That includes the sliders and mounting brackets. I am not going to ship these but am willing to drive up to two hours to meet the buyer. I don't have pictures to post but will by the end of the week. Feel free to ask any questions at all I'd be happy to answer them. Like I said these are practically brand spankin new and have only been used (drove in) MAYBE ten times. |

I can attest to the supercharger=problems. I have one of the few RIPPMODS kits for the celica. Fully built block and ported and polished head. Im having really bad vaccum issues which are causing spongy brakes and i can't get the car to hold idle without having to give it gas. The little time that it was running and driveable I will say it was amazing. Also since nobody else really deals with this RIPPMODS kit I am having the hardest time getting advice from people especially since not many have experience with it. Bummer. |

This car has been two years in the making and just last week I finally finished it. The first (as I know of) 5sfze in a Celica. It has been a long and really stressful road and as soon as I finished it last week I wanted to sell it...so here are some details about the car. I'm not putting any pictures up yet because I'm running low on time today they will be up soon. Details: 96 Red Gt h 187,xxx on the body ONLY 80 MILES ARE ON THE MOTOR The body has no rust at all and was garage kept. I removed the AC and the Cruise Control. The motor is fully built and here are the details: It has a new remanufactured head with a stage one port and polish job. It also has a new cometic headgasket. The motor has custom ross racing pistons, pauter billet rods, and a knife edged crank. The compression ratio is 9:1:1. It also has a new water pump and a toga high volume oil pump. Along with all new gaskets, belts, and pulleys. It has the stage 2 Ripp Supercharger Kit installed on it and it runs 9-11 pounds of boost however the Vortech blower is capable of up to 26. The car itself has a walbroh 255 fuel pump, custom RC enigineering injectors, and a jackson racing fmu all being managed by the SAFCII. The car has a new ignitor, coil, radiator, and distributor with slightly used Magnecore KV85 Competition wires it also has a custom DG Performance 2.5 in exhaust coming through an HKS Carbon TI muffler. As far as the suspension goes I has suspension techniques front and rear swaybars and new links to go with them. The car rides on KYB shocks and Tein springs and rides nicely I might add. It's equipped with BRAND NEW 5zigen GN+ Bronze wheels 17" with new tires as well. It also has the rare TRD front sway bar in the bay. Inside the car is immaculate the old tan leathers have been replance with Sparco Milano seats. The rears are still the original tan along with original floor mats. The battery has been relocated to the trunk. Exterior is pretty much stock minus the Zyclone carbon fiber hood, shaved spoiler, factory sunroof, and JDM tails. Paint is in great condition minus a few chips on the bumper. Along with the car the buyer will get these things still left to install. 1. Doggy triple center gauge pod. 2. RIPP Mods. Methanol injection kit 3. Ebay oil catch can. 4. Level 10 push button shifter As you can see I've spent a lot of money on this car and I know I'm not going to get it all back. I would like to let this go to a 6gc owner rather than just anybody. I'm asking 12,000 but I am willing to negotiate a little. This car was truely my baby and has a perfect clean title. |

i had the block and head shipped out to a builder who did all the precision work for me. the head and block were both decked and flat as could be. the builder also mated the head with the block. if the block or head was cracked would it be leaking from the crack itself? |

i didn't think you could put the headgasket on backwards it look completely the same on both sides. the rear seal was replaced and is brand new so i think that rules that out. i can't find my BGB to look up anything arghhhh. thanks. QUOTE(stephen_lee @ May 27, 2007 - 12:11 AM) rear main seal? i think. the one on your tranny side, obviously. i know that'll leak oil, but im not sure where the coolant could come from... could you have accidentally put the HG backwards? |

Well many many moons ago i started my 5sfe build/supercharge project. It took me nearly a whole year and a half to finish the fully built 5s and get everything i've needed. About a month ago i started it up, ran it for about an hour before driving it checking for leaks and stuff and i had gotten nothing. I took it for it's first test drive and as soon as i pulled into my driveway i looked under only to find a large puddle of oil mixed with coolant a.k.a milky yellow substance. what a b!tch. the whole back of the block glistened and from my initial gander i had thought that i blew the headgasket (mls cometic gasket). it sat for a month again as i continued to work 50 hour weeks until this weekend...memorial day weekend when i went out to look at it and give it a second opinion. i took off the supercharger (which by the way was pushing 12 pounds of boost) off the car and ran it n/a for this test. from what i could now tell where the block and head are mated is no longer seeping, however, where the block and tranny are mated is where the oil/coolant is coming from. i removed the flywheel cover and could only barely catch a glimpse of what was going on as i was getting dripped on. ihave no clue where to go from here im taking anybodys advice and im willing to try anything. also i am not blowing anything out my exhaust and i can see no cracks in my head or my block. i also took it to a local mechanic for a second opinion he ran a test that said it had a leaky headgasket. i am just so confused right now and fed up with the celica i could scream....sorry for the riddiculously looooong post. thanks for reading. |

that cant be for a fact i just replaced the fuel pump with a walbro one. but thanks anyways! QUOTE(celica1990gts @ Feb 25, 2007 - 9:02 PM) I had the same problem with my 5s when swap out the motor and i found out that it was the fuel pump that went bad. If it doesn't get the right amount of fuel pressure then it won't put out a spark. |
