So if you've replaced all of those things have you determined if you are getting spark? I've seen issues like this in the past with bad torque converters. I'm going to try taking the spark plugs out today and having someone else crank the car so I can check to see |

I'd say your distributor is at fault. Check for fuel and spark as Box mentioned above, then report back to us with your findings and we'll help you go from there. Okay thanks. I'm going to try the fuel and spark when I get off work. F.Y.I I think the car started giving me symptoms that something was wrong about a week ago with the hesitation because when ever I came to a red light or a stop sign it would hesitate and get the shakes real bad. If I had the AC on I would cut it off and it would calm down with all the shaking. It started to shake so bad the day before it quit running that if I shift it into neutral it would quit hesitating and shaking all together. Whenever it was in park or neutral it ran GREAT |

If more than one is faulty it will. Generally the car can still start missing a cylinder. I doubt it would just be one. It's easy to check for spark though. Pull the plug out and set them on top of the valve cover. Have someone else turn it over and look for blue spark, best to do it at night when it's really easy to see. If that checks out I'd check for fuel pressure at the fuel rail. Then if all that checks out perhaps the starter or something else going on. How was the car before this happened? Well the car started fine as it always had the other morning.... Pulled out the drive way, got to the end of the street and once I pulled up to the stop sign it hesitated a little and when I pushed the pedal to pull off it just CUT OFF. Hasn't crunk back up sense it tries to start but it's not turning over and firing up. |

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking after I replaced the cap and the rotor that it could possibly be the distributor itself! I think my fuel pump is working fine because I disconnected the line running to the fuel filter to see if it was pumping gas up to fuel filter mounted on the frame and it was. So I think I'm at a cross between the distributor and possibly the igniter. The engine is not locked because it rotates when I attempt to crank it |

just a quick question, i've been on the prowl for some wheels for my 94 st for a while now. i found some 19 inchers five spoke wheels that some guy will part from them for $150. he had them on a bmw but sold the car. can our car handle 19 inch wheels? sorry i dont have a picture of them. Yes, our celicas can handle 19's, but even with a body kit they look monsterous. BUT if they came off a bmw then there's a good chance they wont fit. i believe bimmers have a 5x120 bolt pattern. Our celicas have a 5x100 bolt pattern. 18's look great on our celicas too. I have a set on mine but I'm do for an UPGRADE |

I have 1994 for GT that's NEVER given me any major problems and I've had it sense 2005. It has a little over 200,000 on it. 3days ago I started the car and proceeded to let it warm up then I drove off and not even a mile down the road I got to the stop sign and the car hesitated slightly then it cut off on me. It wouldn't start back up and hasn't started sense! It has a brand new battery, starter is fairly new and it's working normally. The car attempts to start like it always has in the past but it just never turns over.... I checked my fuses and even replaced the starter relay and replaced the distributor cap and rotor but still it will not TURN OVER. Can anyone help me with this one??? |
