awesome thanks for the quick responses...looks like it was due to warping.

Would there be any other causes or is this the pretty sound cause?

Also, if it is the problem can it wait/last 200 some miles? I can get it fixed once I get down to college, but I cant do anything about it before then =/

Hey guys, I just changed my brakes myself today. Front axel and rear axel. The front passenger side rotor is worn and in need of repair, but mind you before this change I had no issues (besides the issues of overworn brake pads).

So everything goes fine, I jack the car up, pop the wheels off, unbolt the caliper, pop out the old brake pads and pop in the new ones and fasten it all back up. I do this for all four disks.

I drop the car down and begin to drive, taking it easy on the brakes and attempting to properly "seat" them by driving at a constant speed and then braking at a constant pressure, nothing sudden. For the first 10-15 miles I feel no problems at all.

A few hours later I take the car out and drive about 10 miles to pick up my girlfriend from work...still no problems. When I'm taking her home, however, I begin to feel a slight knocking from around my pedals...right where the front axel is. THe steering wheel has a slight vibration as I'm coasting, and when I begin to brake it slowly goes away until I accelerate again. I should also note that this only happens when I begin driving faster than 20 mph, and I've yet to try it out going faster than 40 mph. My first thoughts were that it is just the new pads hugging the rotor, and since I did not replace any of my rotors they might be slightly warped so that was the cause...but as I think about it more and more I wonder if it could be something more serious.

I leave for college in the morning and im facing a 250 mile drive. Is this something that will go away as the pads get more worn and seated comfortably or is it something I should get fixed asap?

Thanks for your time and I hope I can shed some light on this situation.

Ha ha theres a station right near my house that's at 3.19 a gallon now, but not even 3 minutes down the road there's a BP station with 2.99 a gallon, and across from that a shell station with 3.09 a gallon...

Funny thing is, there were still cars at the 3.19 a gallon station

About ebay...

I bought my '94 Celica GT stick from Florida with aftermarket 16" Rims and a shortshifter for 5,1k....shipped.

The car sold for 4,8k, and the guy knew someone personally who owned their own shipping company...I got the car from Florida (I live in Ohio) to Ohio in 3 days flat and for 300 bucks. Car wasn't rusted or anything, with 107k miles on it...as far as Im concerned it was a great deal...but yea dont exclude ebay...email sellers and ask about shipping, they may have more connections then you know wink.gif

Good luck man and hope to see you active in our forum soon! Keep us updated

maybe you shouldn't be racing a 140 hp manual with your 105 hp automatic. in fact neither of those cars should be drag racing because they are not at all fast. you obviously have some misconceptions about speed and what your car can do, you're only setting yourself up for disappointment. my 2 cents

well i thought i might be able to stay behind him, but nope he was gone. his could also have been the 195hp one. i wasnt looking to win. the suv mom behind me had more of a chance.

odds are it wasnt a 195 HP type-R...my bet is if it pulled that quickly on you, it was a 170 HP GS-R with that V-TEC...

Stick=GG off the line if you can drive
Auto=evens out if properly tuned by second gear

After second, race is even since manual can shift at redline or max HP (whatever ur style) and auto will shift at same point, depending how you progged it

i say defffffs do that. Pointikng the subs inward will give them more "bump" as heard mostly in techno. Instead of sounding muddy they will be more crisp and accurate...

Not to mention practicality...do you really want to do that kind of custom cutting? so much easier to mount em backwards
