Put your higher octance fuel in, it makes so much difference. and your right winter tyres for Dyno run prehaps not a good idea. I ve de catted mine and running 98 octance fuel with lightweight pullies and i m getting nearer 200 bhp. Also disconnect the aircon unit there is near 5 bhp without that. Kev |

I agree here with taking off the heat shield. I done that. I also sealed up the intake in the wing and followed the inner wing down to the large box behind the wheel/ front bumper. I then cut a hole in the front. and with my veilside front bumper the cold air goes straight in the box and up to the air box mixed with a K&N panel filter seams to do the job for me very little if any heatsoak. i got 210 Bhp (btw i ve got a beams engine fitted to my ST and some lightweight parts). Its very noticable when it cold outside. Kev |

i did a full ST to GT swap UK cars and had to change the full wheel station to get the GT front disk in. the ST rear plate was just too small to house the GT disks. have you any pics of swapping the GTs on to ST plates. Maybe its the US models are different. i also stripped a SSII (completely) and they are the same size as the GT Kev |

Hi guys, Wot are the fuel octane rates over there with you? Over there in the UK we can get 95,97, 98, and 99 octane depending on the garage used. I ve just put a Beams engine in my Celica and run 98 Shell fuel (called V POWER) the engine is a Import straight from Japan. i know they run higher octane there and i thought you run lower octane over with you. So what fuel do you run imports on? how do get around not being able to get 100 octane like in Japan? I know this thread has a few questions. I am genuinely interested. Kev |

the ignitor wires needed bridging. they are different on the ST from the Beams. so i needed to power the fuel rail and the injectors. I got loads of help from Outsider (Club Member) and my wife who scanned the net for diagrams and the wiring pictures. Took about 3 hours with a curcuit tester to find the wires. but when soldered the right ones together she fired and i took the vid. Been out in the car all night WOW i love the difference. |

Hi guys, well i just got it in and its running thanks to some advice from OUTSIDER about wiring. she is running so sweet. Heres my history. I bought the celica 3 years ago with 35,000 miles on it an a 7AFE a UK ST model After a year i decided i wanted more power as we all do. so i got hold of a donor car in the shape of scrap UK GT with major side impact perfect for the swap. I did the complete swap over a weekend starting friday night. heres the 3SGE in my car Well after running it with no problems for two years i craved a Beams. I got one for a absolute bargain £600 (i dont know what that is in Dollars prehaps 900) I got it last week and fitted it this week but it would start but not run. So i searched for advice from all the forums and web pages and of course, i got the correct advice from here (Thanks Outsider) Well I ve bored you enough heres the vid and some pics http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...533973416568367 enjoy Kev |

I ve already done a 3SGE Swap into my 7AFE no problem but i suggest you get a donor car as you need loads of bits and pieces. If ya want any info feel free to pm me, i have just swapped that 3SGE for a BEAMS and with a few wiring probs its running as of today. Kev |

Beams all the way, i too had a 7afe in my celica when i bought it, i ve changed it to a beams and OMG its like awesome. There are a lot of things to change besides the engine. SUch as tranny, radiator, accelerator cable, gear linkage, brakes inc rotors also add a strut brace to real feel the power. I am sure there are loads of guys here who can advise on other swaps but its beams for me. Kev |

What are the power gains from adding a turbo to the 7A, I had a 7A and swapped it for a 3SGE for a 60 BHP upgrade i am still smiling and i believe the amount of work versus power was well worth it. Kev |
