I was just wondering if there is any problems fitting the 3SGTE engine in with the suspension technique sway bars you recommended. Are they compatible with both 5SFE and 3SGTE engine arrangements under the hood?

Thanks Lagos for your advice.

I am hoping you can also help me with my problem, I think it is my clutch thats causing the problems. Posted my problem under a new topic.

I am hoping that some of you out there with your wisdom can shed some light on a noise that I have coming from under the hood. I am thinking that it is my clutch release bearing, but I could be completely wrong. Am wondering if it is maybe a bearing on the front of the transmission, anyone have similar experience.

The noise under my hood sounds almost like a mild grinding noise and only happens on and off (but rather frequently). At first I thought it was my air intake because it sounded like air rushing in, but it is not my intake it is deeper in the engine bay. I noticed when I was driving though that the noise wasn't there when I was stopped at a light with my clutch fully depressed or when I was driving and changes gears (once again clutch in). This is what led me to believe it has to do with the clutch.

There is no slipping in the clutch or problems with the clutch or transmission that I am aware of, it is just the noise.

If anyone can give me some helpful information that would be great.

Thanks.

Hey I know this comment might not quite be on topic (or at least where the topic has gone!). I have a stock 5SFE engine, tranny, clutch, flywheel, etc. however believe I need a new clutch (well actually just the release bearing). I eventually want to do a full 3S-GTE swap (as all of us on 6gc!) and have read that it will bolt up to the 5SFE tranny. My question is how the clutch and flywheel all fit into this, do you need to upgrade them? As mentioned I want to buy a new performance clutch, however I want it to work with my 5SFE engine/tranny right now, but I also want it to work when I put in a 3S-GTE engine. Is this possible, will a clutch I buy now work for both engine application?

I don't have much knowledge on this topic, but it seems you all do so I hope you can give me some insight.

Thanks.

I would recommend going onto ebay.ca and typing in 94-99 celica. That will usually bring up some side markers and other parts. As far as a local place around TO, don't know. If you do find a good online Canadian parts place for our car, let me know.

In case anyone was wondering, it turned out to be my throttle position sensor that was causing my problems.

Just go get new plugs, they arent much. Definetlly could be it. Even if it doesnt fix it, new plugs are always good.

Any recommendation on plugs? What are the best plugs out there from experience?

i would definatly check out the plugs and wires....it sounds like something that happened to mine when i was misfiring

Was it just your wiring to the plugs that were loose or did you need to adjust the gap on the plugs, or brand new plugs all together?

I have a 95 GTS and I was driving on the highway for about 2 hours with cruise set (80mph). When I was coming into the city I turned cruise off and my engine seemed to be misfiring or something like that. There was a sort of vibration and it seemed that there was no real response to when I gave it gas. It is hard to explain. This happened for about a minute as I was slowing down and coming into the city. Then all of a sudden my check engine light came on. The light then went out after about a minute of constant driving at around 35mph. Then as I slowed down for a traffic light, the light came on again and the engine was having its problem again. This happened a few times as I made it to my home. The light went on and off maybe 4 times as I drove to my house.

I was hoping that someone might have some suggestions as to what this may be. I am wondering if it is maybe my spark plugs causing my ignition timing to be off, or maybe my intake or possibly the map sensor? Any suggestions that you may have would be great. Thanks.

Its funny that you mention driving by Wal-Mart and seeing the line ups. I found this on ebay, looks like there is more of a downside to waiting in the line ups. Looks like this guy lost his job.

Found the story quite amusing and thought I would post.

Hey I was wondering if anybody has information on the factory specs for the camber, caster, and toe settings for a 95 celica GT. I have 17" rims on my car and it is lowered, I would like to have it alligned with a maximum negative camber and a maximum positive caster as I like going hard in corners. I however want to make sure I stay within the factory recommended settings. Can anybody supply me with information or tips?

Thanks.
