Well just opinion to see if anyone agree but just to see how you guys think of this idea or like to add your opinions into this one.

Do you guys ever Considering try engine swapping 5SFE to a 2AZFE(Scion TC)?
knowing that there are N/A Enthusiasts out here want more power from there 5SFE, not only it swap to a alittle bigger engine of 2.4L but outputs to 160hp/163 Torque which is a fairly average for it especially it is built in VVTI system to it. The gas mileage on both 5SFE and 2AZFE are fairly same of 22mpg in city and 29mpg highway. I may not know much of engine work but i see alot of 4AGE Silver/Black Top Swaps for N/A performance and some out there have 2ZZGE swaps. but just sharing my ideas with you guys to see how this engine swap is a good idea or not but knowing that the engine may cost alot compare to 3SGTE and 4AGE engines. plus i would like to know if this 2AZFE engine have any potential work in this engine for both N/A(like high revving over 6000rpm) and Forced induction.

alright, my parents have a fight and my dad took my car and ran off somewhere mad.gif
so i am looking for any Celica Model, if it's a ST model, if it's a 4AGE swapped then i would buy it too. just depends how much you guys offer the price of any Celica Model. only colors i dont want is yellow or red (bad experience with cop pulling me over with those colors) so any one that is selling Celica around Illinois? name your price and i'll think about it. Automatic is ok but i prefer stick shift.

like netrata said, "If you go with a direct bolt-on engine like a 20v, you can still use your axles from the 7afe since it shares a c-series transmission."

go for the 20 valve blacktop 4AGE for your best bet for an easy swap. that engine is over 150hp like you wanted and it same goes for Silvertop 4AGE as well. just the difference between those two engine is silvertop is 5-speed with 160hp and blacktop is 6-speed with 165hp.

if you cant find the blacktop 4AGE then go for silvertop 4AGE, just the blacktop 4AGE is harder to find and abit expensive than the silvertop.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i have to apologize to you CelicaST_CALI for a confusion with the 4AGZE i just recommended.

basically just go for the blacktop 4AGE, if cant find the engine then silvertop 4AGE will do as well and netrata basically answered your question already. i also got your question answered as well on how much horsepower the silvertop and blacktop 4AGE produced as well.

Here's a very old speedo video after I completed the silvertop swap. This is recorded on an road with a slight uphill angle BTW. The celica is all stock, no modifications has been done to it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jM09JGrebEs

Yes, it may not be as powerful as 3s or v6 engine, but it's a good improvement over the 7a. Also, with the new free flowing intake filter, improved exhaust, and replacing the pulleys, responsiveness and acceleration improved and the car has a bit more top end power in the higher RPMs. I'll try to make another vid to see the difference from then and now

Very nice vid you have up there!
look forward to your new vid that is with free flowing intake filter, exhaust, and new pulleys in your silvertop in action biggrin.gif
i just love the 4AGE N/A sounds when you rev it up to 7500rpm when it was stock tongue.gif

x2 biggrin.gif More work to put in an ~170 HP AE101 4AGZE but well worth it at the end when you know it's running right.

yup yup tongue.gif it will be worth it laugh.gif

if i may recommend, i would go for 4AGZE than a silvertop and blacktop for a good reason. it's streetable or drivable in the street plus it have a nice low end torque in low revs with good acceleration response than the silvertop and blacktop.

back then i was thinking of going for silvertop, but then i was thinking about torque and response of the engine then compared it with 4AGZE, 4AGE silvertop, and 4AGE blacktop.

so if you want more power and good low end torque from lower revs that is drivable in the streets, i'd go for AE101 4AGZE biggrin.gif
it have 170hp and you can crank it up to 200hp with some modification to the supercharger or so forth which i dont know the full details about it yet. that's what i am planning to do with my 95 Celica ST manual since it's cheaper and more easier swapping.

plus lighter engine with supercharger so it'll be a good daily or fun ride with good manuevers, cornering and makes your celica alittle lighter than before, and good for using on track if you're into putting your celica in track.

(note: for you all confused i said 95 ST, i owned two celicas now, one is celica gt auto. and other one is celica st manual)

if memory serves me correctly 4agze's didn't come with a c52. Yeah, it will bolt up since it is an A series, but it won't handle the torque, then again maybe I'm wrong wink.gif

yea, the stock may cant handle the torque, just switch the 4AGZE tranny and it should handle the torque but the 7AFE should be able to handle the power since most of 7AFE can handle the torque from the turbocharger. for so i heard from my last forum for my question on engine swapping from 7AFE to 4AGZE

nice car Jared95 smile.gif
i also have a 95 ST Manual model as well and own a GT Auto. model.

yea, like those experienced people said, new rims/tires, shocks, suspensions, and sway bar will do for now, then save it up for an engine swap such as 3sgte if you're up for a really nice big boost. other 2 options are turbo your 7AFE or engine swap to 4AGZE(which i am planning to do after saving up since i read the forum somewhere it said it is a direct bolt on the stock transmission on 7AFE).

but you will enjoy a good gas saving out of the 7AFE alot. biggrin.gif

Thank you both for the info. i will stick with 7AFE for now and have fun driving stick shift plus the gas saving on this engine. that way i can save up the money whatever require for me to do the swapping and tuning parts for 4AGZE in the future then put it under the Celica ST's hood wink.gif

it doesn't mean easier swap, it means that you won't need new motor mounts or new tranny so is somewhat a little less work involve but I wouldn't say easier.

Easier swap in what terms? Yes it is an easier swap than an S-series engine (3SGE, 3SGTE, etc.) because you can use your current motor mounts and you can use your current transmission. You would need the 4AGE, ECU, harness, etc. You will want to replace the gaskets, timing belt, water pump, etc. while it is out - plus add some fun stuff like cams and cam gears - because you can't leave an engine alone for too long. wink.gif

Thanks alot for the info! smile.gif
Makes me feel better to hear that! though, i do have to replace the tranny too right? since the 7AFE tranny cant handle too much power boost from the 4AGZE?

Well i found a 95 Celica ST ST200 with 7AFE Engine in it, i probably getting that car as well since it's Manual Transmission. so that makes it 2 Celicas i'll be owning. Giving my brother my Automatic Celica GT 5SFE.

I just want to know if anyone swap a 7AFE to 4AGE or 4AGZE(even though i know it's more recommended for street driving with good end torque) engine before and the results of it success?
I know i read the Feasible and Non-Feasible Engine Swaps Topic said, "Celica with a 7A-FE(USDM ST) because both engines are A-series engines. This engine will bolt right up to your stock USDM ST(AT200) transmission."
someone care to explain what that means in the parenthesis? does it mean it's easier to swap because the motor mount can hold the 4AGE/4AGZE as well or is it something else behind that meaning?
I'm planning to do engine swapping in my dad's shop if it doesnt require any welding or special setup to put the 4AGZE in the ST Celica.

Much info or help is much appriciate from the ones that have good knowledge and experience biggrin.gif

I'll probably or proably not come by, even though i done nothing to my celica but i just probably show up to check out other 6GC member's rides and be in a group pics with you all.

so it's a 50/50 chance i show up since it'll be my first time showing up to a 6GC meet.

i got the directions to Starved Rock State Park at google map and it shows around 2hrs and 13 minutes of driving so it isn't bad...it's like 121 miles from my place to Starved Rock State Park.

why not wait until you get enough money for both?
keep your stock exhaust.. then when your swapped, change the whole exhaust to 3in.

i could do that but i just want to get a nice deep tone sound on my celica while driving til i get an engine swap biggrin.gif

how about this one? i think this will fit in my celica very well it's 17" x 7

should fit fine. Get some 225/45s the question is.. whats the offset?

My offset if FWD
and thanks for the info as well on 225/45s

im referring to the wheel. is it +38? +40? This will let you know how well the wheel will be flushed to the Celica's body.

I have some 16x7.5 with 225/45s +38 offset. Its flush in the front and rear.

right now i'm getting 17x7 with 215/45/17
