Hi all, I tried searching this but couldn't come up with any definitive answers. I currently have the engine out of my 95 ST and I want to replace all the vacuum lines with silicone ones, but I'm not sure on the sizes. The smaller ones around the throttle body look like 2mm or 3mm, and some of the bigger ones look like 6mm but I can't be sure. Anyone know?? |

Hi all, I just bought a 95 Celica ST with the 7afe engine and auto trans. It's got 240k miles on it. Anyway, I plan on doing a full rebuild from the block up. Does anyone know how well these engines hold up to cylinder wear?? I know the block is cast iron but that doesn't mean much. My hope is that it will still measure within spec and I can just hone it and use new pistons and rings. If I have to bore it out, I'll just pick up another engine. I'll also have to get the head checked and/or decked since it overheated a couple times while driving it to my house. |

Anyone in the Columbus area comfortable pulling a motor? I have a ton of parts ready to be installed and I'm looking to save some money and gain some knowledge by pulling the motor myself. Unfortunately, I've never pulled a motor before so it would be nice to have a helping set of hands that actually knows what they're doing I'll probably try to do this once it gets a little cooler out but wanted to reach out and see if anyone would be willing to help. Thanks! Oh damn I just realized you meant Columbus Ohio... I was thinking Columbus NJ for a second. Good luck though! The first times always the hardest |

I got the egr bolts off now the tube that runs to the head or the top of the block I can't get it out it has two of those lock nuts I guess you could call it that connects the tube to the egr and im cleaning it out since I through a p0401 code so any advice on how to get the whole tube piping out that connects from engine to egr? I haven't done this on a Celica, but I'm assuming the Camry's 5sfe is basically the same. The tube you're referring to goes from the bottom or the egr valve to the back of the head. It looks like this: Take an adjustable/crescent wrench and loosen that big compression looking fitting. Once loose, the egr valve should come off with the tube attached. Don't bother trying to remove the tube from the valve itself, chances are you'll break one or the other. Clean out the valve and tube assembly with carb/choke/TB cleaner and reassemble with new gasket. |
