I just redded out my tails. Because my cars red it looks sooooo much better. About the afterbuner tails..ehh...not as bad as euros but still not as good as tinting the tails with black or red.

I have the stock 8 speaker system and had my pioneer head unit put in and it works fine. Best buy installed it for me and just put in a little cubby hole thing under the pioneer. (being that its a single-din)
I'm 99% sure that there is a stock amp. Otherwise it wouldn't seem to work. All the speakers are still stock and going strong even after 8 years of whatever abuse and my listening pleasure for 2 years with the pioneer. They've held up great.

I was talking to a buddy of mine from highschool the other day about his car. He has a 99 si civic. Well to get to the point he took out his a/c for weight and throttle upgrades...haha..I had to laugh..he claims that it was over 50 pounds he eleveated (sp)..which i dont really doubt but also said that he has better throttle response too. He was talking about the pullys not having to strain as much now..Anyway I was wondering your guys thoughts on it..respectable or ricer?

dollar for dollar you would probally be better off to go custom...get pipes bent..buy a seperate muffler..however there is alot of hoops and stuff to go through when doing that...with the greddy you know it sounds..somewhere on this site someone posted a sound clip of the car going past the recorder..however it dosent give a great example at a standstill...I would go with the Greddy..its a little pricey however you know it will fit...and it fits real easy...Though if you want to get creative you could do custom, you meant get it alot cheaper...weather or not you want to deal with the possible headaches...

QUOTE (bigwerm @ Jun 5, 2003 - 6:53 AM)
its faster then the Subaru.

Nope the evo is "slower"...not much but it is....
Evo:
Engine Type: Inline-4
Engine Block: Cast Iron
Cylinder Head: Aluminum Alloy
Displacement (liters): 2.0
Horsepower @ rpm (SAE net): 271@6500
Torque (lb-ft @ rpm): 273@3500
Redline (rpm): 7000
Turbocharger Type: Twin Scroll Turbine
Top Speed: 157 MPH

Subaru STI:

Type Horizontally opposed 4-cylinder intercooled high-boost turbo with die-cast aluminum-alloy block and aluminum-alloy cylinder heads. Intercooler has driver-controlled manual water spray cooler with low-fluid indicator.
Displacement 2.5 liters (150 cubic inches)
Horsepower 300 @ 6000 rpm
Torque (lb.-ft.) 300 @ 4000 rpm
Valvetrain 16-valve with Dual Overhead Camshaft design (DOHC) with Active Valve Control System (AVCS) variable valve timing.

Acura Type-S:

The RSX Type-S engine puts out 200 hp at 7400 rpm and reaches its peak torque of 142 lb.-ft. at 6,000 rpm. That works out to 100 horsepower per liter-one of the highest specific outputs of any production engine in the world. Even with all this power, the RSX Type-S still achieves an estimated EPA fuel economy of 24/31 mpg (city/highway). And the California Air Resources Board (CARB) has rated the RSX Type-S a LEV-II (Low Emission Vehicle II), by its standards for 2004.

350Z:
Engine
3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6
aluminum-alloy engine with CVTCS
129 lb-ft of torque @ 2,400 rpm
287 hp @ 6,200 rpm
274 lb-ft @ 4,800 rpm S S S S S
Sequential multi-point electronic
fuel injection

Type R:
Product Specifications
This 1997 model features a 195-hp, 1.8-liter, dual-overhead-cam, 16-valve VTEC inline 4-cylinder engine that puts out more hp-per liter than any other normally aspirated mass-produced engine in the US... not anymore due to the Rsx...but the facts stay the same...

I would go with the STI its got more power and torque than any of the others. As far as getting parts comparing to the Acura...there is a huge following for WRX's and soon to be sti's....plus its all-wheel drive...though the evo is about just as good..you can't go wrong with either...i'd go with the sti...

Most likely it was an '84....however my dad has a '85 and I know what you're talking about when you say its slow. It would seem that going from 135 (celi) to 230 (vette) would be a huge difference. However it isn't. For some reason it doesn't seem to go. Anyway...I listed all the eighties. There was no '83..(well there was but there is only one left driving) and the 82, 81, 80 were all the C3s. Different body style. I just listed the 90, 91 ,92 to complete the C4 generation. Who knows though...she might have not really been trying..or something could have been wrong with the car...and hell you could have just beat it...anyway hope this shines some light on the discussion.
