QUOTE (Azncelica @ Dec 18, 2012 - 12:58 PM) *
I ran across your old 6gen, I hear lots of things about it. I thought of going with a bigger turbo at first. But I wanted a turbo in between. I ask Ron at Rs motor to increase my redline higher when he tune my car, but instead he cut my max power at 7000rpm. This summer I ran into a guy with a mr2, full build, tune, running a 6267 turbo, he claim shy of 500whp, we did some hwy pull to test our set up. I pull on him from40, i,50,60,75 mhp. He didnt even stand s chance. Turbo lagg was so bad on that setup. My buddy Rx7 with Gt35, he made 390whp, full build. The lagg on his car was bad,
This coming year, Ill retune first, see where that get me. Again I havent max out my setup yet. I was very suprise myself how well this setup perform on the street, Only thing I regret is going with a thicker head gasket. It kill my boost response. Hope to see you this summer sometime, your should come to ricekiller meet. Thanks everyone for your input.

HAHA it wasnt all that ..my old 6th gen... not even sure how its doing now havent talk to the dude that bought it for a bit, last i heard he needed an axle and the motor wasnt doing so well

if i was to do another one i would go all out and plan everything out accordling, i do plan if i could get my hands on a clean 6gen without a motor do a rwd conversion. was thinking of using the is300 rear diff and have a custom drive shaft, if possible see if i could turn the motor. its all still in the works and plans..have to make a custome plate for the bell housing for whatever tranny i could get to work and cut the fire wall and whatever.
i would love to actually get my hands on a 7th gen and do what fensport did a few years back: AWD, 3S SWAP . i think it would be kinda of wicked...just cant get myself to actaully pick up a FWD again..

Sup bro. nice to see someone making decent amount of power with a 6th gen celica, i was making around 400 with my set up but a bit more tq. my limit was the turbo, i would suggest uping the turbo a bit either psi or going bigger over all (i would suggest what smaay said GT35R...and 272 cams)
your feel a bit more lagg but the power will come at the end ..with a forge bottom end you should be handling bigger power like no tomorrow,

trutly i would suggest just to pick up a gt35r and keep at that, lagg is what kills street runs or track runs, dyno numbers are nice but those are just numbers and will not improve handling or traction

i would love to get back into 6th gens but i trutly think that, that car was made to be RWD, after hoping into RWD and AWD cars i cant push myself to try and work on a FWD anymore and make big power.
btw we should meet up i still have some stuff left over from when i was building my set up, and hanging out is always nice with a few cold ones on the hand.

Wheel hop can't really be solved in our cars at all.

thats really not true at all.

what it should say is somthing like

"nobody on this site has put the time / money / research in to figure out what works best to stop wheelhop in our cars."
there are LOTS of things that can be done, from tq bars, bushings, suspension setups, ect...just no one has taken the time or spent the money to figure out what it takes.

RL, it was a 5s"F"te, not "G"te wink.gif

lol! glad your here to correct me! smile.gif

it was a 5sfte that beat a 3sgte smile.gif

i just wanted to add my two cents about fwd set ups and numbers:)

first of all like culp said its all about the driver and how good he is. secondly you really have to look at what tranmission your using...for time, traction, and weight.

s54 or e153, both can fit the gen3 3s..i for one had both in my car. i can tell u one thing is that.. the s54 you feel everything since it much lighter and has low rpm range and very very torqy. the e153 is heavy and has high rpm range, torqy but its heavy so you dont feel all the power, when you do launch you dont have that much wheel spin compared to the s54.

as for 205 vs swap 204..on track time..thats a hard one to call.
the facts is that once you get to a certain speed, the awd loses power due to the power ratio to all the wheels, and since swap 204 is only fwd the power ratio to the front is all but equal and the power band will be constant.

so in reality and if you really want to be certian do a meet up there with 10 awd and 10 swap gen3 204's and have them run each other to see who beats who.

fwd swap gen3 isnt bad at all.. trust me i alway use to tell people that they shouldnt judge a books by its cover. smile.gif

ooh if you look hard enough on here..there is a clip where a 5sgte beats a 3sgte..thats when its all about the driver hehe!!!!!

celi_6

hey i couldnt send you the pm...

i actually just order a new one for 50 buck at autozone. i use the new axle then i took apart the old one that was poping..just take the old one off and take apart the part where the bearings are in and use that cylinder/circler part (bearings are inside of it) as the spacer.. you ahve to go to a manchine shop and have them cut the cylinder/circler part to 3/4 or 1/2 inch, go to a local ace hardware and get longer bolts. i would say cut it to 3/4inch first and try that..with the half inch part i still have a problem axle poping.
it will probably cost you about 100bucks to get it everything working properly.

hopefully that helps...batman has a better picture of the spacer on his page or build thread.
