Hey everyone,

this question is one mostly directed towards the "pros" and experienced with the drum to disc break conversion. I've had numerous questions about the conversion, but Im not one experienced with the conversion myself, and im not one to give a buyer false information.

All the parts up for sale on my FS posting are as listed on the how-to article. There seems to be some confusion with the "internal drum brake components" of the drum to disc conversion.

as mentioned on the how to article:

"Backplate with internal brake components for parking brake (drum brake inside walls of rotor)
"

the question would be, will the internal brake components from the stock drum brakes (st) work with the disc brake set up? or will the buyer have to purchase new drum brakes (gt) for inside walls of rotor?

Any input will be appreciated.

Emergency brake cables - Paid $106.09 for both
Back plate - Paid $397.40 for both
Cross Drilled Rotors - paid around $150
Brake Pads- should i even count these, they're relatively cheap at autozone
Calipers (painted silver) - paid $514 for both

I gave my car to my little brother about 6 months ago, and gave him all the parts for the conversion (i had bought them a couple weeks before i gave him the car) but he never got around to install them. Now he is getting rid of the car and doesnt want to install the brakes on it, so i must sell the parts (they do me no good sitting in my garage

All parts are brand new, never been used. All of the OEM parts were bought from Champion Toyota (via trademotion). I paid well over $600 about 9 months ago. Im asking $300 + shipping. I am willing to negotiate. yes, Kami speed are good people. Great shop from what i hear. They are affiliated alot with Team Stance from Orlando, who is also a good bunch. Glad to hear they are gettin their name out there.
i just might show up to the meet..dun kno yet, my 6gc went back to under construction as of last week.

close to buying parts from champion toyota trademotion, but wanna check if i can get a better deal here first.

doing rear disc conversion. need the gt rear backing plate w/ internal brake components for both left and right side.

looking for crossdrilled/slotted rotors as well (all four)

quick release?? or as mentioned before, is adapter included?

whole strut itself wont go past the frame of the car..the shock is there to absorb any bumps..and if it does move, your shocks are probably blown and you will have some serious frame damage if the whole strut moves.

on another note, i tried lookin up the dynamics of the edfc itself, but it seems like no one knows the exact measurements of it. any ideas??

best bet would be to figure out someway to measure the space between the top of the shock and the hood, n then get the dynamics of the edfc.. im look into it sometime this week. i figure changin the stiffness of the ride would only be fun doing it from inside the car..less work needed

im about to buy the tein ss suspension, but wanted the edfc along with it. sponsor called me back yesterday and told me that if i wanted the edfc, ima need the gt-4 hood as well cause of clearance issues with the stock hood once the edfc is mounted.. so is this true?? or has anyone managed to mount the edfc and still be able to keep the stock hood, without having any clearance isuues??

alright..so im lookin for all parts necessary for the rear disc conversion, minus the rotors, unless someone has cross drilled/slotted rotors they givin up along with the rest of the parts. heres what i need per side:

Rear caliper from any 6th gen. (Celica without ABS)
Rotor (cross drilled/slotted)
Backplate with internal brake components for parking brake (drum brake inside walls of rotor)
Parking brake cable from a 6th gen. GT

im also lookin for the Tein SS suspension..light use if not brand new..and yes it will need to be shipped.

also in need or rear hatch struts.

note, this is a feeler wtb, and all depending on the prices i get, i will most likely go from there.

westgate lakes?? the one on 192 or turkey lake?? funny cause the ex-girlfriend works at the one on 192, and my mom use to work at the hospital right next to the one on turkey lake. you might catch me around town..im around those areas alot.

you sure it wasnt orange with a custom kit, carbon fiber hood, splitter, and wing. lowered with gunmetal rims, looki fres fo sho! .. lol

hmm..im from oralndo, n i havent seen a lime green celica like you described. it would be nice to kno who it is tho.

BTW, ima be up at Lollicup tomorrow for the pre-HIN meet being hosted by deepvision. maybe any of you guys in orlando/kissimmee/winterpark area can swing by n hang out for a bit. loads of nice cars gonna be there..

well i live on Boggy Creek right by the airport (like 5-10 minutes away). work next to old town @ a wyndham resort. Went both east and west Valencia campus last year. but since i jus graduated from valencia and i'll be at UCF startin august, you can probably catch me around east colonial more often. but usually im all up and down 192, 417, n I4.

if im not in Puerto Rico at the time..then im down. so i guess you can go ahead n have me as pending.
