the new car will be a surprise...

the frs was a fun buy, figure id loose some money, and the fj will break even. i drive 5 to 6 miles to work, so dont put that many miles in them..., insurance for 2 cars, and no time to enjoy, either get rid of my old cars or this.... I will regret it in the long run, maybe, but it was fun while it lasted.

FRS has 3300 miles in one year, can you believe that?

Its best if you just spray the logo TRD on your car. I guarantee others will believe you while you have only invested in less than a couple of dollars, yen, euros, rupees or Aussies.

When you get to the shift linkage its pretty much self explanatory. You should be able to get it off from the car fairly easy.

Drum brakes are prob the most difficult as *uck brakes to work on. It still takes me several tries to get all the springs back on right adjust the brakes right and then the E-brake and then drive around take the drum back out and check to make sure the shoes aren't holding the drums down or the wheel cylinders are leaking. PITA.

Your brake hardware fell out. You can easily get them at your favorite auto parts store for less than $15. By the reading of your post, it may sound like you need a new drum brake wheel cylinder that activates the drum brakes on the side that fell out. You may also want to check the shoes and the drum itself.

Your best bet if your a noob rider or if you want to stay somewhat safe is to get one with the built in armour for the shoulder, elbows and back. That jacket is great for summer riding and will keep you cool but if you fall or slide it won't protect your elbows and shoulders.......Especially if your rolling.

My took a last breath before I took everything out, Smashed it with a hammer several times and crushed it with the tractor, then took it to be recycled. Overall, it took 3 rear ends from a parked position from drivers who couldn't see it since it low.

He prob took a grinder and re-surfaced it, straight edged, re-resurface and straight edged it several times. Seriously if your going to spend a ton of money on a fix get new parts.

Not bad but the amount of work you put in will cost way more than what you start with.
Unless you have 6K laying around and a ton of time to kill, I wouldn't buy it.
The notion of buying it to save up the money later and do the repairs is not a good choice, because you will end up selling it just like the previous owners.

Don't get any cheap ebay hub adapters unless you want to drive down the road and break off your steering wheel in the process. Just my 2 cents. Ebay is cheap and you get what you pay for

The rear struts don't use as much compression for the springs like the front. Most times you can get away without even using a spring compressor when you loosen the top nut and the springs can move somewhat freely in the strut assembly. If you put the rear on jack stands you can do the job pretty quick.

A cheap ebay for around $100 works. Remote start is just a wire that is optional which you can wire in or leave unhooked.
Just browse online to see which one is good. I have found that ebay kits do work and when they don't work they don't work frown.gif

If you get a cold air and its a two piece, put on a bypass filter in between the two pipes. Nothing sucks worse than sucking up water.

If the filter is located into the fender and not the bottom of the car shouldn't have a problem with that. If water reaches the upper fender I think sucking water is the least of your concerns at the moment. tongue.gif

I drove 2 years ago with water half way up my 17" wheels from a massive flood. My exhausts went bloop bloop bloop. After that I took off the other section of the intake and made it a short ram.
