Hey people,

It's been a few years since I've been active on here, but I'm about to head overseas again and am selling my 6gen. Before I strip all the custom bits off and put it on carsales, I wanted to list it here and give you all a chance to grab a great bargin. I'm more than happy to let people come look at it, if you're really serious then I can send more photo's, but more will come in a week or so when I do the shoot for carsales. PM me for details/enquiries

$7000 not negotiable.

Selling: White ST204 ZR 1998, ~195,000 kms
Located: Sydney, Australia
Mods:
The very rare toms lip!
BR coilovers

Audio ($2500 worth):
(I'm a bit of an audio nut, the system is very clean, sounds great, and I never listen to it even close to max volume!)
Eclipse 7100 head unit
Focal PS series 6.5" splits. Fitted to appear factory.
Fusion Powerplant 12". 40lt sealed box so very punchy.
Responce and soundstream amps. 800w rms.

The car is in very good general condition. Mechanically it's excellent, interior is almost exceptional, exterior is good but does show its age; but I am getting it professionally buffed and polished before selling.

Cheers

Rob

Hey guys,

2nd time now that the center arm rest has broken frown.gif Stupid people get in the car and lean on it to get comfortable and it snaps.

It's got a small crack down the middle, I was thinking of putting some kind of thick glue on the back of it and letting it set for a week or so??

And then there are the 2 lugs at the back that it opens on. I figure the only way to really fix them it to somehow re-make them out of metal?

Any thoughts for a permanent fix? I'm thinking this must be fairly common on our cars, so someone must have got a good fix already?

Cheers

bought them new, checked for leaks though and can't find any. could old/dead bushings be enough to put the camber off that much?

Hey all,

I installed a set of BC coilovers (BR type) this week and then had it professionally aligned, etc. It's been lowered to 350mm all round.

Camber on the rears is -3 on the left and -5 on the right??!! Even with camber pins they're still gonna be way negative, and uneven? Has anyone experienced this before or know how to fix it? At the moment I'm thinking of raising it a bit.

Also, to be honest I'm really not happy with the BC's. On the softest setting they are still really hard but have a lot of bounce in them. So I've turned them up to around half way but they are still really bouncy. I'm not quite sure how best to explain it, but when you drive it feels like you're bouncing up and down really quickly. Just a really rough feel, but the road is smooth and straight, no holes, etc.

Any advice would be really appreciated!

Hey all,

I'm looking to get a new suspension setup and it's gonna be way cheaper to buy the parts in the US and have them shipped. Has anyone done this before / can recommend a company to do it? Parts are coming from assumingly the US and ending up in Australia.

And yes I know about ebay, etc. I'm asking for recommendations / experience.

Cheers,
Rob

Hey guys, I bought these coilovers a few months ago however I've since been traveling and now plan to go back overseas so I have no use for them anymore.

The guy I bought them off said they have never been used, however they do have a bit of paint damage around the bolt holes for the wheels. Apparently they were fitted in the shop but the car never made it to the road before they were removed again.

I'm asking $1500AU plus shipping (not neg). I'm still around for a few months so not in a hurry to sell.

ps, Merry Christmas!

Details:

TEIN Super Street Coilovers (replaces both shocks and springs)
Made in Japan
Front camber adjustable
28 point damper adjustable
Fronts: GBT86-11746
Rears: GBT87-11746

ECU is on the floor under the middle of the dash. You get to the wiring from the passenger side.

It was about 3yrs ago that I did it so I don't remember which wire I did it too. If you can wait till the weekend I'll have a look for you.

yep they got the pillowball mount, they arrived today smile.gif

I read in another post here that the strut mount rubber can get old and start making noise... wouldn't it be easier to do it all at the same time?

I switched back to the ZR as I feel its a much better daily driver. More responsive and nicer to drive, cheaper too. Each to their own I guess. Before owning it I thought the gt4 was the ****...

Would be better to put a kill switch on the ECU or fuel pump as the starter will only prevent them from using the key to start it. You can quite easily pop the hood and jumper the battery to the starter motor (provided you have turned the ignition on).

I forget the exact wire I put it on when I did it, but there is a wire going into the ECU that tells it you have turned the ignition on, put a kill switch on that and the ECU won't turn on even if you turn the key.

My input would be

You need:
Motor: 3vzfe, 4vzfe, 5vzfe, 1mzfe, 3mzfe
Transmission: V6 Camry, V6 Solora, Turbo Mr2, ES300 (E153 or auto)
Motor mounts: altrac mounts on all side except for front GT motor mount ill work, passenger side will need to have an adapter plate
ECU: best to use a Camry, Solara, or ES300 ECU or use a EMS
Engine harness
Misc: Custom Y pipe as said already on the thread, metal HG for 3vz users,
Axle: ??? <-- havent got there yet.

I know i'm missing more stuff but I will keep updated with my project.

i have an AT200, would the alltrac mounts work w/ the 3VZ still?

I'm also going to do this conversion... probably early next year the way things are looking at the moment smile.gif

all this talk of different engines is confusing... im sure i'll work it out slowly

questions -

Is there a reason you have to use GT4 mounts? Or is just because they are stronger?
Does the stock gearbox mount up? I know it's going to be weaker, just wondering if it would fit at all
Any word on what needs to be done with axle's?
People are saying that ODBCII is harder to wire, but wouldn't all the sensors come with the engine? What extra stuff does it have that is so hard to wire?
How does drive by wire work? I'm assuming you need different pedals that wire into the ECU?

Hey guys,

I have set of Tein SS coilovers on the way to finally replace my stock suspension smile.gif

I'm planning to get a bushing kit as well as I don't think they would have ever been replaced, so now is a good time to do it since I'll have everything apart!

Is there anything else I should be doing as well? Is it a good idea to replace the rubber on the strut mounts? Although the Tein has camber adjustment on the front so it might not need it anyway?

Oh, and I haven't updated my profile yet but I sold the GT4 and just have the ZR now.

I've uploaded the diagrams from the st205 manual. From my experiance with toyota, they very rarely change wire colors so this should be the same for all 20x range.

I've included both the 6 speaker no amp and 8 speaker amp versions.

Someone should make this a sticky smile.gif

6 speakers without amp

he's going to be charging me $AU1670 inc freight and tax. hmmm does this sound like a good deal? -R

I'm thinking of getting some as well. What made you choose D2's? I'm just concerned that they won't fit over my 18's... seems that everyone here who has them is running with 17's.

If you haven't got them yet let me know, we might be able to work out a discount with him.

You know I'm wanting to sell my gt4. It's quite dilapidated and in need of repairs, and I also can't insure it.

And then someone makes a vid like that and suddenly I find myself thinking of ways I can keep it. I mean its not like I couldn't afford it... and if I only drove it every now and then it reduces the risk of something happening to it while its still uninsured (can't insure it till I'm 25). Not to mention that down under here they are extremely rare. I'd reckon the number of cars in that vid would account for ALL the ones in australia.

Thats your opinion. I new the risks when I bought it, those risks are now making me sell it. I've had a bit of fun and while my luck is still good I'm going to sell it.
