Nice, I have a good idea now. I want my st204 to be a beast but I also wanted to see what the Beams had to offer. I know what swap I want to do now, the 3S-GTE. I know there is a lot of threads on here that will fill me in on how to do the swap. What is the best transmission for my st204 with the engine swap? I heard the standard transmission on st204 will not be able to handle the power of the 3S-GTE. Also, has anybody done an AWD conversion? Is the AWD conversion worth the money? I'm not particularly worried about the money but I also don't want to spend over the top. I love my Celica but I just need it to run like a beast but with the best bang for my buck. For now, I'm going to work on getting the 3S-GTE and getting some mods for the exterior. Btw, I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I don't hear a lot about Celicas. It would be cool to have a meetup in Vegas. |

I know a few members have a Beams in their 6th Gens. I'm thinking about swapping my stock 5SFE with either a Beams or a 3SGTE but I want to hear about member's experiences with either. What are the pros and cons of both and why pick one over the other. I know the 3SGTE is amazing and powerful so why did some of you decide to got with the Beams? Thanks everybody! |

you wont be able to physically notice a 5-15 hp gain mostly it would be all mental. as stated prior, lowering a car, throwing on an exhaust and all that would probably give you the perception of a gain in speed when in actuality you havent gained much at all. Hmm.. looks like I'm going to have to do some engine mods. For now i guess i'm just going to get SAFC2,Cold Air Intake (K&N), and JDM Extractor Headers. What would be the best air intake system to install? |

I will be doing a swap to a 3S but only when my 5S gives out on me. The 5S is a good engine so i figure why get rid of it when it is still working like a champ. I really only want to get about 5 to 15 more horsepower if possible without Nos, turbo, or supercharging it. |

you mean you have a 5SFE right? not a 5SFTE. A 5SFTE is a turbo'd 5SFE. More power for the 5S Web or Colt Cams I looked at the story of your Celica and it really helped. What mods, in regards to increasing power, can I do to my celica without having to change the cams? Thanks for the help! no problem man. other than cams? take out a crap load of the interior to lighten the car. get some sticky tires. get a SAFC2. I was able to get a bit of power from that with just a tweak of the settings. This was before the cams Lol. What is an SAFC2? Sorry, It's a new acronym for me. |

Hi everybody, I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to tuning engines to increase speed/horsepower. I have a 94 Celica GT with a 5sfe engine. I want to increase the power but I'm not looking for power that a turbo or supercharger would give. I just want to increase the horsepower by as much possible without turning to a turbo or supercharger. Basically. I just want the Celica to run a bit faster. So my question is: What do I need in order to increase the horsepower/torque of my 5sfe engine without looking into turbos or superchargers? My starting point is exhaust headers but I don't know what else i could get. Thanks! How much are you willing to spend to increase its power? I'm not trying to spend over top money. If I'm going to spend a couple thousand, then I rather do an engine swap and get turbo. I'm just looking to see how I can increase the power without doing too much modifications. I don't want to mess up the engine. I'm looking for the basics that won't require me to change the cams. I'm interested in installing headers, an air intake, and exhaust but I'm not sure the engine can handle any of those mods. |
