cheers for the replies, some nice comments. Lookin at getting some 17" volks either te37 or ce28 ideally, but they soo damn expensive. I been looking through all the pics on the members rides, and not many have made me think wow, loads look great but nothing with the extra factor im lookin for. As for the spoiler, i did try spoiler less and then did the opposite and got this humungous thing, cant decide on that either. Damn my indeciseivness As for lil-joe101, great minds fink alike is all i can say. Petna bee-have yourself i dont wanna waste the fuel and drive up north to where tall the weirdos live! lol Jaws4god, i realised what i was gettin my self in for when i got it done, and its been almost a week with no damage! amazing. Not sure if its the same in USA, but my insurance cover gets me like for like replacemnets, which include fitting and i get to choose the garage, so may be lucky |

Yo Dudes, slight update, well freaking big one for me. After months of my bodykitt sitting around collecting dust in the garage i decided to get it fitted. Now i been friends with my mechanic for ages, and he suggested i used this american chap in my local area and these are the results. I get a huge smile everytime i go to drive it now, and thats the way the Celica club should be! The only small gripe i have is i cheaped out on the doors, due to the bodyshop charging by the panel i decided not to get them done, hoping that they hadnt faded too much from the original colour, apparently i was wrong, so gonna have a go at T-Cuting with a light red on the weekend hoping to lesten the difference, otherwise its back to the garage to get the doors sprayed, doh! Hope you enjoy! Thats the inner door, which s covered by the door sills, neat work! Next gotta buy some bigger wheels! Will the spending ever stop! |

Where all should I ground to improve my electronic response? boot or engine bay? boot i had four rubber grommits which jus pop out (think tey may be drainage holes), then i found a suitable nut and bolt and connected a ring connector throw thta. Most important thing is to make sure the area is clean off paint, otherwise it wont be a proper ground. Usinsumtin solid, like a sflat ended screw driver to remove the paint. Engine bay, i jus beefed up my original ground with sum 4 gauge |

how did the 2nd batt install come along?? Yo dude, unfortunatly i dont move that fast, currently studying on most weekends so it doesnt leave much daylight for me too work in. I have a split charge relay in the Orion MBR70 but no second battery as yet, so theres no rush for the mo, also got plenty of 4 gauge cable to use on he second battery when purchased. But my main priority is to get the Cyclone in, for curiosity reasons more then anythin, so will do that on Saturday, fingers crossed it goes smoothly. The Cyclone is 300watts draw on the amp, as opposed to the 1200watt sub i had before, so that should help my voltage drop problems. Brown note here i come!! lol |

good work man glad to see other peeps with sound systems on there celis make sure to make some vids Will try and make some vids when im happy with the install, but be warned you cud be in for a long wait! Theres plenty more to do as far as the install goes, but updating as i go. Only problem is that the car is getting slower with each new piece of equipment, gonna have to upgrade the engine soon Anyone know if theres a limit to how many pics per thread??? omg!! how much money have u spent on that system>? Due you want the figure in English Pounds or American Dollars, either way its a shed load! Its all second hand gear so compared to what it should have cost its a fraction of the price. Funny thing is i seem to be buying older stuff rather then newer stuff? hmm, little crazy me finks! Also my install is nuffin compared to some of the guys i hang around with over in the UK, they really love Car Audio in a big way |

This C-one tower bar fits my AT200, right? Since the body is the same? (or?) The nengun site lets you pic what your car is and tells you the exact part number from C-One, best to go there. In other words i aint got a clue . Was that 80-90 dollars for a C-One Rear Strut bar or standard GT4 one?? |

Im about to buy a strut brace for my GT and loved the C-One three strut one. Looking at the pics it looks like the main section raizes slightly over where the engine is. Is there any problems with fitting these to a standard GT ST202, i.e does it make contact with the bonnet (as i believe the GT4 bonnet is slightly higher) Stef Out! |

Nice set up mate, I used Genesis amps back in the day when I competed, great sounding amps. Your only the second person (me being the first) that Ive seen running the Kenwood XXV Anniversaries, what do you think of them? I really liked those speakers, they were my main speakers till i came across a really good deal on the MB Quarts so got them aswell. Magnets on those are mahoosive buggers and the tweets are also pretty heavy duty, the mounting rings were thick as hell to fit them in the doors originally. However im finding it hard to incorperate the old XXV's into my current setup, not very wise to have tweets in the rear so gotta find a new place to position them. I also got a four channel XXV amp loaned to a mate currently, u fin kits worth anythin?? What comp were you competing in? got any pics? Im considering it, but mainly built my system for selfish reasons, as i jus love the sound it makes, shivers and all! i just wanna know how on the i assume factory alt and only one yellow top you keep any kind of decent voltage in there i was stugling in my car with two upgraded batts and more wire and half the power to stay about 12 volts for more than a few mins of hard playing, but if you are looking for an alt i would look into mechman alts he has 250amp alts for this car for only 500$ but everything looks awsome man Only way i keep a decent voltage is not to turn the bass up, system copes with all the speakers, but its the sub that kills it for me. Standard 70amp alt i think is dying tho hence looking fo the replacement before its too late. I heard that the High Outpur alts were only good at high reves and wont be beneficial at idle, is this true?? or is there different types of alts?? Knowledge wise; Sound system i can hold my own, soon as it gets in the engine bay i fail big time! |

Hey Cheifton, It's a great to see another Londoner on here!! I have to say that i am in love with your head unit! ~LST Yeah, fair few loving the Headunit. Its a Jap unit (checky buggers always save all the best stuff for them selves), a frinid in Newcastle got it shipped over a few years ago and i loved it then. Cudnt believe he was selling it so snapped it up straight away. Apparently if you change the tube thats already in their it will completly change the sound again, havnt tried it yet, but will do soon. Nice to see ya Lastofthestds you going Japshow next weekend?? New pics added of exterior, now installed projector headlights and JDM rears, very nice!! |

Well I bought some padding to help with the road noise to put on the outer skin, and bought some dynamat to help with the bass for the inner skin... i just started tearing stuff apart, but i cant get th back seat out!!! lol time to search the forums Haha once i took my back seat out i neva put it back in, theres now a large sub where my passengers should be, lol. The drop down bits of the seats come out first once the nuts either side have been take down, push down where the brackets are and they slide out away from the middle harness. Think the base is forcibly removed with a yank upwards from the front middle, hope that helps or even makes sense |

I added extra soundproofing on the outer skin of the door, and then dynamatted the inner skin, but remember once you do the inner skin you wont be able to get to the outter again so make sure you do a good job (may have got that back to front, but you know wot i mean). Make sure all the surfaces are clean, used meth spirit to clean mine, and then heated all sound proofing material up using a hairdryer so it was super sticky, makes it last longer apparently. Neva even touched the plastic bits with sound proofing, and dont get any rattles coming from the door, plus you can do that later if you find you are getting rattles. |

I would neaten up the wiring. Throughout your setup you have excessive runs of cable. Coiling up cabls isn't desireable either. You'll be dropping a small amount of volts in the excess cable runs. Some monster equipment though!!! Yo dude, hows you doing? was pm'ing you on celica-club regrading alts the other day, and now your here aswell, such a small world. Yeah would love to neaten the cables up, but was waiting till i finish, i never know what im doing next, and once a cables been cut it quite hard to super glue back together . I am in an utter state of awe and cluelessness. I don't understand half of what you wrote (thankfully it's illustrated with photographs). Really nice setup you have going there. It kind of makes me feel like my car has... well, tiny crappy computer speakers hooked up to a jack-in-the-box compared to your setup. QUOTE As for the last pic, booze definatly made me more attractive that nite Here in America, we call that "beer goggles". You make a lovely couple though LOL Haha, you may be clueless and have tiny computer speakers but im sure their perfectly formed. As for my mate in the pic, he's my bitch, not the other way round. Ohh... Feel free to better me, in a dress picture, i know its hard to beat but im sure you'll find a way If you are running this setup for competition, I would clean up the wiring, match up all those computer fans (i'm not a fan of fans (pun) unless they are completely silent. background noise bothers the hell out of me) because they looks a bit silly with some black and some white. Also, they may not be able to see it to steal it, but It still seems like a shame to not show off the goods in some way, even if it's in your sub floor but with a hinged top so you can lift it up and everyone will go "oooooh" And why a kenwood sub? The head unit looks pretty wild i must admit. Reminds me of an old receiver I have at home. Silver with big knobs Naa not competing, although did get second in my class (single 12" sub) at a local DBDrag comp, it was a small crowd, but still got a trophy to prove it! Computer fans were stolen last minute from my current computer and probably explains why everything is running sooo slow now, Will match them up, but thats not a priority at the mo, I also got some lovely PC Grills here waiting to install, should look mint when its carpeted and matching. My other pland was to cut two holes in the mid section (which is already hinged), jus above the amps and perspex it, then get lots of neons (not to everyones tastes) and have the light shining from the inside. The Genny amps have a built in thermostat, so the fans are only active when the amps get hot. As for the Kenwood sub, not really got any excuse, the sub was on special so bought it as a impulse buy, I then needed amp to power it, so bought the “Famous Five” amp, and it sorta grew from there. When will it eva stop!!! Deaf at 40 I think not!! Maybe death but neva deaf |

how old is that headunit and what is the model number? Panasonic CQ-TX5500W - Its all in my sig, and it even playes mp3's, awesome, only pprob is it doesnt have a sub preout, but i can live with that. Age, hmm, think it was early 2000 or a whisker before that. Cheers for the compliments, keep em coming, my head is getting bigger as we speak |
