I have a complete 5sfe for sale. No set price just make me an offer. Approximately 75k miles and perfect running condition. Pics if you want them just ask. Interested offers e-mail me at isaacs33@cinci.rr.com Thanks. Oh, yeah. It's out of a 94 celica gt. My wife and I had a daughter and the celica need a bit of body work. Overall it is just not worth fixing, so I am parting it out. Also, I live in Cincy, OH. |

Yes, I know the harnesses and ECU's are different, I can handle that. An ECU for the GT isn't hard to find and the wiring harness I got with the motor I mean, that's pretty straight forward, just routing wires and plugging all the sensors back in. I made one of the engine mounts, the one on the passenger side of the car and I'm pretty sure that is the problem with clearing the engine bay. But, I think it will look alright with a hood scoop on it. I know it's not a 6th gen, but does anyone know anything about the 89 GTS celicas? I found one for sale and would like to know how good the motor and trans was back then? And as far as whether or not I know what I'm doing, well my other car is a 73 Cutlass with a 454 Big Block, so no probably not, I'm used to older bigger motors. But, I think I'm doing pretty well. |

Okay, I have a 94 celica st. Decent little car but I blew the motor up in it. So I decided to swap a 5sfe because anything bigger is harder than **** to find around Hamilton, OH. Anyways, I got the 5sfe and have started putting it in. It blows my mind how many things are different between the two motors. I have had to customize so much on this piece. Now, after I have the motor mounted and everything I find that I have to either get a hood with a scoop and fabricate a scoop on my stock hood to clear the intake on the 2.2 because it sticks up about an inch and a half over the engine compartment. I also am finding out that a header for this motor is darn near impossible to find, so my brother-in-law and I are going to make one. We are using 10 gauge high grade steel tubing for this, I'll post pics when it's done. All I need is to hook up the wiring and finish the exhaust and then it's done. If anyone has ever done this I'd love to hear about how you did it, because it hasn't been as fun as I would have hoped. I know nobody else probably cares to read this but it's my first time posting here so there! |
