Well, now I'm $50 lighter. No response to emails/PMs, he said his wife was gonna part the stuff and send it to me, and that hasn't happened.

I feel like a chump. Anyone ever actually receive something from this guy?

7A, stick. I get around 550 miles to the tank (36mpg highway at 65-70 mph, 38mpg country at 45-50 mph). It's not so hard once you get used to driving that way. I tend to shift around 2.5k or so and am in 5th by about 35 mph. I actually wish I had a 6 speed so I could upshift again on the highway. I get tired of buzzing along.

I don't spend much time stuck in traffic and do make sure that I tailor my speed to the traffic that's there. I don't like pissing people off just so I can save a few cents.

You'd be surprised how little time you lose choosing to drive more relaxed. I took an hour mixed city/freeway trip in which I drove 50 on the freeway and it cost me about 5 minutes extra. Conservation can add up money-wise over the long haul.

Of course I view my Celica as a sexy economy car that's dead practical, not a sports car. smile.gif

Sounds fun. Dang you, finals!

I don't think I can justify the 3h drive each way because of studying. frown.gif

Don't forget to roll down the window.

It's just over 4" (or was in my '95 vert, see no reason for it to be different).

Bass waves tend not to be very directional below a certain point (might be as high as 500hz? can't remember). Anyways, it's just like a sub in the hatch; it has to go through a couple seats to get to you, but the waves are so big (and actually vibrate the car) that it doesn't matter.

Could be motherboard then. The power switch sends a signal to the motherboard to turn on, it's not a physical switch. If mobo is borked, then it could get part of the way there but not all.

Though it could be PS too.

Well, the rear hatch defroster has never worked on my 1997 ST, so I decided to try and fix it. The light turns on and the relay clicks, but there's no power at the window. Here's what I've done:

1. Check all fuses related to the defroster, as described in the owner's manual. all fine
2. Checked resistance across the window, hot to ground: good.
3. Checked resistance ground terminal to ground: good
4. Located relay, tested by hooking up to a power supply and testing to see if it opens and closes the switch as it should. It's fine.

So, I guess I have two questions:

How do you remove the wire "clip" from the window? It didn't seem to come off easily, but I know they can be tight. I just didn't want to crack it off and have to solder to my window (no fun, I've had to do it before.).

Could anyone with a service manual tell me how the wire from the relay box in the driver's side dash/footwell runs to the window? In particular, whether there are any other junctions in the path, and also which wire-loom it runs through to the window (left, right, or middle, from the back of the car). I guess I could also use a description in how to remove the headliner/body panels around the driver's side rear window.

Any other ideas besides tracing the dang thing every inch of the way would really be appreciated.

8" sub = 7" opening.

It's all how you look at it.

I think that's a thoughtful and sweet gift, that's what I think. The best gifts don't cost a lot, and don't get mined out of the earth, imho.

No.

Front is 7"-- you'll either need to make adapter plates, fab up something ghetto with cardboard, or buy them from somplace like:

It's really unfortunate that Toyota chose to go with the 7" size. If you're looking for a more permanent solution, mjmautoinnovations has some really sturdy brackets for only $7:

CD changers are usually proprietary by brand if you want to control them with the head unit. Universal CD-changers use an FM-modulator.

Part of the reason for that is airbags (especially in newer cars) are designed to work with the seatbelt system, so a seatbelt may not adequately restrain you without an airbag.

Guys, remember that processor speed is relative to the chip you are using. See, Core Duos are faster per clock cycle than the old P4's. While direct comparisons are hard, a dual-core 2ghz core duo most likely will be faster than a 3ghz P4. Also, since they have two cores on one chip, they excel at multitasking.

I bought a Dell E1705 with a 1.83 ghz core duo and the go7800 graphics. Gig of RAM. It set me back about 1300. I am quite satisfied with the performance; I'm playing two-year-old games at 1600x1200 (Deus Ex, ROTK, Lego Star Wars) with no framerate issues. I'm not a huge gamer, but I wanted to be able to play some. I imagine that newer games would be playable by losing some eye candy and lowering the resolution.

You're screwed, as usual. It's a dark dark night; it's up to you to find something to do in it.

Yes I owned a vert; no I didn't like having no interior light either smile.gif .

I fit JL 8w0's in the front of a '95 convertible. Required a bit of modification for the brackets, but definitely fit depth-wise. Great bump; would have helped if it was dynamatted.

The reason you probably can't hear bass is because your speakers cannot play bass that low smile.gif.

If you turned it all the way down and heard the staticy noise, and if all speakers are equally affected, my guess is definitely the amp.

Poly fil is the most common brand name:

I used some in my .35 cu ft. sealed box, and I really like the tight bass. Personal preference, really.
